I have not visited this particular A & W in years. We used to frequently visit this location back in the day in the early 2000s. At the time my family and I lived in Earlimart and anytime we would go shopping we would head up north and this burger spot was one of our regular spots. It has changed a bit inside and all the surrounding buildings. The inside looks a little more modern. They don't have that root beer machine anymore, it just looks like an antique display now. The jukebox was still there and all the pictures on the walls were still the same. Inside was pretty clean, the downside is when we visited the restrooms were closed and my son had to walk to the gas station next door. Service was just okay. Staff was fast, we didn't have to wait long for our food. There was literally no one there when we dined in, but as soon as our food came out, I turned around and several tables were taken. We were on a time crunch, so I decided to order ahead online. We got to the restaurant shortly after placing the online order and we were greeted and welcomed instantly upon walking in. The customer service was very exceptional but the food didn't meet expectations. The kids and I have tried it before but my husband had not and my husband and my son really like root beer so they were excited for this. Also the last time I tried it for the first time was over a year ago. The burgers were pretty basic or average according to the boys. My grilled chicken sandwich was over seasoned to the point that it tasted so salty and I couldn't finish it the chili and the chili cheese fries was not good so I also ended up not finishing that and my husband didn't like it either and he also felt that the grilled chicken was salty. I always double check just to make sure it isn't my taste buds messing with me. Anyways, they were super polite about refunding me the grilled chicken, and even though the service was very pleasant. Me and my parents went to get food and the server Elisa G was being very disrespectful and being rude she got mad when my father asked to get more ketchup and she threw the packets in the bag I didn't like her attitude and she got me upset and I don't like people when they disrespect my family she was incredibly disrespectful. I went thru drive thru , not only was the wait time was long , but when i finally get to window for my 1 cone, the lady did not even greet me or say thank you ! I was okay with the waiting in line , But the poor service is what really bothered me , i just can't believe i spent my hard earned mooney with this poor service and attitude!!!!!! It's still all about the root beer for me! Just had to stop by here simply because I love A & W root beer. I am not a gourmet or foodie, just nostalgic for taste I've enjoyed over the years. The place is clean. Decorated to resemble an old 50s theme with a Rock-Ola jukebox with 45s. What? And if you get a frosty mug, the draft root beer tap is there next to the regular soda. The staff here is also great. If it were lunch time I would recommend a Papa Burger fries and a delicious Ice Cold Root beer! Or even a Root Beer float! Unfortunately, I have been eating entirely too much fast food since COVID-19 forced the closure of dining rooms throughout the state. I stopped by this A&W one evening on my way home from my mother's house. I remember this restaurant when it was built to tear down the original with carhop service and local radio dedications on the old radio station, KCOK. Now it, and the area are a total dump. I should have pulled out when I had the chance, but I was optimistic of a better outcome. The drive-thru line was short, but the wait time was LONG. Seriously, there was literally one car in front of me when I arrived, and I counted 6 behind me by the time I left. I ordered the Papa Burger combo which is my standard A&W order. The burger was messy and the fries were not fully cooked. I'm not usually one to call back and complain, but when you mess with my fries, all bets are off. I spoke to the assistant manager who offered new fries if I wanted to come back and exchange. No thanks. read more

Have been to this restaurant several times, and what stands out to me is the quality of the food. I have tried a few different things on the menu, and the taste and quality are excellent. The consistency of the food from one visit to the next remains the same, so you know what to expect. The bacon cheese burger that I ordered this morning was fresh and hot, and my fries were freshly cooked and hot. This A&W is Tulare's little secret for a great place to eat. I usually use the drive thru, however the inside is nicely decorated, and clean. I don't write many five star reviews, but this place deserves it. read more

The A&W's that are independent chains are much better than the ones that team up with KFC. The big difference: most of the independent ones have corn dogs!!! The ones with KFC have corn dog bites - just not the same. This location has delicious corndogs. Golden, crunchy deliciousness! My husband was working down in Tulare but will now be transferred somewhere else so sadly, I won't be returning to this A&W, but the employees here were always great. I've never been to A&W I'm my life!! lol, but my friend convinced me to go because he said they had awesome chicken tenders. That part is true. The chicken tenders were really delicious, but that's about it. I also ordered the cheeseburger meal, and it was ooook..nothing really special about it except the ridiculous prices..not to mention the whole menu..so expensive! Poor service I had went through drive-through with my family to order some food one burger was wrong the other burger had a hair I called that night no answer I called the next morning the manager on duty was more than willing to replace my order I went that evening and got assisted by another manager and she had the worst customer service ever had an issue replacing my order and didn't do anything about it I called the owner's office they said they would go ahead and refund me I get to coupons later in the mail after speaking to them about getting my cashback they later said they needed proof of my purchase after I had offered to take my burgers with me and email them my receipt and they said it was not necessary from the office and restaurant,they said it would be okay to throw the burgers away last time I visit I now see A&W are out for the money not for customer service read more
