I drove through and ordered a sonic blast with Oreo and cookie dough pieces. The service was actually great and the kid that was working the drive-through was super kind and professional and greeted me with a smile (he earned the second star!) The issue I had was clearly not with him. I'm writing this review as I'm waiting for my sonic blast to melt a little bit so I can eat it because they were OUT OF SPOONS!!! Whoever is in charge of ordering supplies is definitely dropping the ball. I would actually for that individual to make him/herself a sonic blast with Oreo and cookie dough and try to suck it through a straw. Impossible! The cookie pieces won't even FIT through this skinny straw. How are you an ice cream place and out of straws??? That's unacceptable! Also, why the plastic cup? This seems more like a cup for a soda. I know there was a Styrofoam ban in California but I would imagine there is some alternative for ice cream and cold drinks??? or maybe they were also out of that particular cup as well? read more

I had a horrible experience at the Sonic in Tulare. I understand if the location doesn't allow two separate orders...that's fine. But when I politely asked for a little more time to decide what I wanted, I was told to get out of line. The kicker? I physically couldn't move because the car in front of me wasn't going anywhere. Then, a white girl with a gap tooth wearing Crocs came outside and demanded I move to the back of the line. She was extremely rude, confrontational, and completely unprofessional. I wish I had caught her name, but guess what--she wasn't even wearing a name tag. This is not how you treat paying customers. There was zero patience, zero respect, and absolutely no sense of customer service. Sonic management really needs to step in and hold their staff accountable. I won't be returning to this location. This Sonic Drive In is across from Taco Bell. I came by here with my husband and our little girl dog this past Thursday evening, around 6:40 pm and there were a few empty stalls left to pull into and a small line for the drive thru. I ended up ordering the following on the app: Garlic Butter Bacon Burger, Normally $4.79 prior to tax but special promo code to make it half price at $2.40- I decided to order this for my husband since this is their new burger and at the discounted price, figured I would at the discounted price. My husband and I both thought the patty was rather dry. You can definitely taste garlic but it just couldn't save a very dry patty. This burger really isn't anything special and generally when we have ordered burgers at other Sonic locations, they haven't been that great. Soft Pretzel Twist, Normally $1.99 prior to tax but had a special promo code to make then only $0.99 each for that day- I really love the soft pretzels, as they are cheap and tasty. I just wished you could order them without butter though. Medium Cherry Limeade, $2.89 (happy hour price), prior to tax- My husband opted for a limeade and thought it tasted just fine. I personally prefer the diet cherry limeade but didn't order one on this visit. ----------------------------- (Total= $8.5 after tax, with special discounted pricing) Surprisingly we didn't wait too long for our order after making the order on the app (had to make 2 separate orders since you are only allowed to redeem on promo per order). I have long been a fan of Sonic Drive-Ins, especially, during the hot summer months for their shakes and slushes. This location is a fail, so if you are looking for a quick stop at this Sonic, I highly suggest that you keep driving. The line of cars was of epic proportion, but I opted to stay. I wanted something cold and sweet like a Sonic Blast. The painfully long wait gave me the chance to look around at the dirty building and lack of any landscaping or parking lot clean up. The condition of the property is in terrible. I should have immediately pulled out of the line. It appears that the lot has not seen a blower, or broom, in quite some time. The walls of the building looked as though they have never had a power wash. By the time I arrived at the pick-up window, I was left staring at a wall covered with the fallout from what must have been a ketchup bomb. Lucky for me, their credit card machine was out of order, so my debit card was of no use. The employee asked if I could pay with cash. I did have cash with me, but I figured that the credit card machine being out of order was my lucky queue telling me to get the heck out of there. I really need to stop all this fast food... I hate to do it, because I tend to leave nothing but 5 stars. But this kind of sucked in every category. For one, 40$ order, everything in my Opinion should have at least half an effort. My wife got a 3 piece chicken tender, received 2 tenders lol. They were so incredibly small you would have mistaken them for potato wedges. The bags on the soft serve pretzels were literally full of grease. They had actual grease puddles in the bottom of the little baggies, all seen in pictures . TO ZTOP EVERYTHING OFF, I ordered a number 7 which is a big ass hot dog. They didn't even give me my combo. The biggest item of the order, forgotten, just like me in the gas station that day by my father. Absolutely terrible. I ordered a breakfast toaster with just egg and cheese. Literally three ingredients. I was the only person there in the drive thru or parked. After the cashier took the money he disappeared for 25 minutes. 25 minutes at a fast food place off of the freeway. Insane. I got out and looked inside and no one was in sight. I tried calling the store and no one answered. I tried yelling to get someone's attention. Finally I knocked on the glass and that's when a female employee, who I assume had just got there, started yelling at me from the parking lot aggressively. You don't yell at a customer when you have zero clue about the situation. You resolve it. To top it off the sandwich was burnt, hard and poor quality. Just had the most unpleasant service here ever! Placed my order at a stall, the wait was over 10 mins. I was missing a drink, but wasn't charged for it; fine. I asked for ranch, it took like 5 mins. for them to bring it out by then I realized I was missing an order of tots (this was a different employee than the first one) he asked for my receipt & I told him the girl didn't give me the receipt. So he leaves after a couple of minutes the first employee comes back out asking for my receipt, really? I already said you didn't give it to me! She said what drink I was missing, I don't care about the drink if I wasn't charged for it I just want the tots, I told her I had somewhere to be & she smirked and walked away. Sonic Drive-In has always had amazing drinks and ice cream. Within a few months, their service has gone completely down hill. Yesterday, was my second time receiving old and oily food. Never order burgers, fries, or any food items from this place. I guarantee it will be soggy and cold right when they give it to you. Staff was also taking a while to push out orders. Great Limeades! You can mix it to your liking even add fresh fruits. They have an app available for download where you can get rewards and order ahead. Now to the dirty stuff that apparently is apparent at the Corporate level, the service. I myself never had a problem like I've been having lately and it's absolutely rediculous! If you try calling the restaurant don't bother they never pick up the phone. If you order ahead to save time cross your fingers that you actually get what you ordered over being approached by the Sacrificial lamb empty handed(Crew Member). 2 out of the last 3 orders I have placed was rejected due to the ice cream machine operating improperly and unable to complete my order.
