I used to watch Popeye when I was young and remember Wimpy and he always saying tgat he'd pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. I ordered the Wimpy burger combo which comes with seasoned fries and drink. I suggest ranch for the fries. The burger was juicy and pretty tasty. The long drive up to Fresno is pretty boring. We usually stop off at In-N-Out burger but wanted something different on this trip. Wimpy's looked interesting so we gave it a try.. So was it worth it? This is small place with a diverse fast-food menu. I wouldn't say anything is noteworthy here (maybe their pastrami) but their fries are of the seasoned variety. Overall the food was better than your national hamburger chains. Pastrami Sandwich - Basically a pile of grilled pastrami piled high in a Costco hotdog roll. They also Include pickes and mustard. Basic but it was pretty tasty. Bathroom - One of the sketchiest you'll visit. It's basically attached to their kitchen so make sure you lock both doors or else you'll get unexpected visitors. The napkin wall was done by customers (we didn't do that tho). Brian ordered the jalapeño bandit burger (pictured on the front window) and onion rings, and I ordered the single bluto burger with fried mushrooms. I believe there was an upcharge for changing from the fries. I added bacon and avocado to my burger. Wimpy burger is the standard, the bluto burger is supposed to be 1/4 lb but it didn't look like it to me. It was delicious though. Had American cheese, tomato, onion, pickles, mayo and mustard. They gave me ranch for my mushrooms. Brian's was a double and had everything mine had except a ton of jalapeños too. He loved it but he was so full! The meat was kind of drowned by the toppings, but it was still really good. Onion rings and mushrooms had a great crunch but they were screaming hot and my mushrooms kept squirting hot liquid into my mouth! Ow lol! But soooo good. They fried them whole. The fries were crispy and seasoned, good on their own but try the homemade ranch. The mushrooms were nothing special but glad they had them, not too many places sell them anymore. Me and my brother have been wanting to try this little place for so long. Well today was the day. Let me first start with saying this is such a cute little joint. Exceptional burgers absolutely delicious fresh ingredients. Reading some of the comments left here on Yelp about the french fries I'm not quite sure maybe they were served french crys. Perfectly seasoned crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. We absolutely loved being able to draw wimpy on a napkin and pin it up on the board. When we ordered large drinks we had no idea we were going to be getting a half a gallon of soda super cool we have soda for all day now.
