It was painful; like she was stripping my skin of the bone but at the end, it felt like I was walking on pillows. I felt so light on my feet. I've never experienced anything close to again and wish I could. It could be because it was first time and she loosened all the knots and tight foot muscles. Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying their regular body massage in the future when I'm back for next Vet visit. The first thing I was asked was, "Do you have an appointment?" No one asked what service I was looking for or made me feel welcomed. The massage itself was also disappointing. He mainly massaged my back, and his hands were very rough. For my legs, he put a towel over them and lightly massaged over/around them. For what was supposed to be a full-body massage, I honestly felt like I paid $45 for almost nothing. On top of that, a woman was talking nearby during my massage, which made it difficult to relax. The worst part was at checkout. I initially planned to leave a tip, but after thinking about the quality of the service, I reduced the amount. The woman looked at what I gave her and said, "That's all?" She then pointed to a sign saying the tip was supposed to be 20%. I explained that their own sign says tips are appreciated. A tip is optional and based on the service received I had already paid the full price for my service. Customers should never be pressured or shamed into leaving a certain percentage, especially after receiving a disappointing service. Between the poor customer service, lackluster massage, noisy environment, and uncomfortable interaction over the tip, I will not be returning.

Being new to cupping, I had no idea what to expect and, wow, it was better than I anticipated. Amanda took her time to talk with me when I arrived to get to know me and explain the cupping process. She spent the beginning of the appointment doing a deep tissue massage, focusing on my areas of tension. This included some stretching, which felt amazing. She was very knowledgeable, commenting on reasons for tension/knots in certain areas and even knowing from massaging my neck that I clench my teeth! At the end of the massage came the cupping. Amanda used stationary cups (the traditional ones that stay in place with suction) as well as cups that she moved around, describing it as almost a "reverse massage." This was a "hurts but feels good" situation for me. I really enjoyed it, and felt like the tension in my neck and shoulders was finally relieved. Amanda suggested an epsom salt bath and rest as cupping is intended to detox the body. I took her suggestions and felt so relaxed. The cupping did leave marks but they went away in about a week. I booked a massage online using their system and received a confirmation of my booking after I placed my credit card. When I arrived (40 minute drive from my home), there was no available therapist. I was told that the spa was changing online booking systems and that they were sorry and that the therapist was probably sick. They did try to call to find someone last minute and offered me a 50% discount on my next massage which was very generous. So, I tried again to book a service the next day, received a confirmation and decided to call the number online to double confirm so as not to end up in the same situation. I did so 2 days in a row and even sent a text via a chatbot and never heard back. I decided to try calling the chatbot number and someone answered. She confirmed my appointment and then proceeded to ask me if I would be willing to change my service booking since the therapist usually doesn't like doing multiple services if they take 3 hours. I asked if the therapists communicate their preferences so that customers can't book something which cannot be performed. The receptionist started to get defensive and asked if I knew that 3 hours was a long time to book services for. I then asked her if I could give her some constructive feedback: that I found it very difficult to communicate with Soma and effectively book services-something I've done online hundreds of times over the years with different businesses. Surprisingly, she felt the need to announce that she would cancel my appointment and tried to hang up on me. I was able to get her to hear me in my request that my feedback simply be fed up to the management, but I experienced her as persistent in her "not my problem or responsibility" message. I told her that as a receptionist, she is the outward face of her company even if she isn't the owner or therapist. Overall an incredibly unprofessional experience. I will not return and will warn friends against Soma. There are so many wonderful businesses with excellent customer service in the area which I would encourage people to patron.
