Just bought a house and needed three locks re-keyed. Called up two different companies and they charged $40-$50 just for the technician to come to the house. Three locks re-keyed cost approximately $90-$100. Then I found Bob on Yelp.com. He quoted me a price of $45 straight up! He was very friendly and the job was done in under 15 minutes. My main door was missing a couple of parts and he gladly gave them to me and installed them, free of charge! Excellent service from Bob. Brian showed up at our first appointment on time. He's very friendly, efficient, and convinced me that I need an extra door (with 2 locks) rekeyed. I took his word, thinking who am I questioning the guy who's been doing this day in day out. Right before he left, I realized the locks do not catch - Brian was kind and helped me with a half remedy on the first lock and promised another service visit to deal with a second one. I paid $60 cash for 4 locks. The follow up service call was not courteous. He didn't show up for both appointments. On the second appointment, He picked up my call at the appointment time and said he's on his way, but never showed up. I left three more messages. The last call went straight to voicemail. I was disappointed. Especially after he mentioned that Yelp referrals really help picking up the business and he said they really try to give people great customer service. We bought a house with a LOT of different locks - 14 of them! Bob was great and re-keyed all of them in about an hour and half and got us down to 2 keys instead of 7. Then before he left, he helped us reprogram our garage door and gave us solid advice about security. He also told us that we had a few expensive locks that will eventually stop working due to a flaw in the design so he advised us to change them when they started giving us trouble. He never advises people to get the more expensive locks due to this problem. So I know who I'll be calling when we need those replaced - Bob! read more

He came out next day to rekey the house and had an excellent price to boot. The door handle latch on my front door was sticking, so I went out and bought a new latch with a lock on it and a new matching deadbolt, so I'd have 2 locks on my front door instead of just the one deadbolt. Bob was able to come out the same day I called. He said he could install the new set, but he knew that brand would start to give me trouble (hard to say how long it would take - he also knew how much I paid for it!) because the technology was so new. I decided to have him repair the latch instead. I mentioned hearing that robbers "bumped" door locks, so he added a few special pins to my lock that would make bumping it open more difficult. I also wanted a deadbolt installed on a door between the garage and yard which never had a deadbolt. He told me that a deadbolt wouldn't be enough security. Why? Because the garbage cans are on the other side of the door and the neighbors would just think I was tossing the trash into the garbage cans and wouldn't notice the sound of my door being kicked in as anything out of the ordinary. He suggested I purchase two L brackets (at Home Depot, they are called Zinc-Plated Solid Door Stop) and a 2x4 as a better and cheaper means of security. He said he saw a video of police trying to break into a house that was protected like that and it took them quite awhile. I decided to go that route. I also had a bedroom doorknob that Bob took a look at it and fixed for free. I mentioned that I was trying to change the code on the garage door opener/remote, but nothing was happening. I thought maybe the battery in the remote might be dead. Bob checked it out and confirmed it for me. Bob charged me $60 for re-keying 4 locks, handed me 4 keys, and gave me good advice. He tries to save the customer's money as I had purchased new doorknobs and deadbolts for him to install, but he told me to return them. He said my old ones were still good, scratched up from wear and tear, but still good. read more
