We've just moved to a new place. We need to re-key our lock sets for security reason. I checked out the prices of re-key with few locksmiths before I found Bob in Craiglist. The quoted price by other locksmiths was unreasonably high ( more than $100 including call out, labor & re-key). Bob is really as good as it gets! Excellent service, very prefessional, reliable, honest, and inexpensive! I got his name from a friend on mine who highly recommended him. I called on a Thursday afternoon, and he was able to come out Saturday morning. It cost $45 for 5 locks to be re keyed. Most places that I was calling was quoting me $75 plus+ over the phone. He gave us some great advice about keeping the old lock set on the door and just re-keying it because the old set was a nicer commercial grade lock, compared to the $100 Schlage set we bought at Home Depot. We had just received the keys to our new rental house, and we were excited to move in right away. As I pulled into the garage, my girlfriend opened up the front door and came bursting through the garage door. "This place is great!" she exclaimed. As she turned around, the garage door closed in her face, with a horrifying "click" signifying the door was locked. "Oh no, I left my keys on the kitched counter!" she yelled. There we sat, in the garage, not sure what to do. Luckily, she had her phone and looked up a locksmith in Sacramento. Bob was the first one to show up on the list, so I went ahead and gave him a call. He answered quickly, but seemed hesitant to come help us. After some negotiations, he finally agreed to come out and open our door for us. He arrived in just under an hour. After seeing that the lock would be difficult to pick, he slid a piece of metal under our door, and used it to turn the door handle from the inside. It took about 20 seconds, and worked like a charm. Bob was kind and friendly, and once he opened the door for us, he told us that he was apprehensive about coming to help because his mother had passed away that morning. However, he knew that we needed help, and he came out to meet us in West Sacramento. Talk about dedication! I highly recommend Bob for all your locksmith needs. However, their service today was very good. On a Saturday at 7:15pm they were able to be at our door within 30 minutes, and had the door to our apartment unlocked within seconds. We came back from a trip and didn't have anyway to get in because other people had our keys and didn't leave it under the door. We were pretty desperate. They came out really quickly and were able to get into the house in less than 10 minutes. They even offered to come back and replace the lock at cost with no extra fee. Bob to the rescue! A gem of a man who seems to be running his business on open honesty which is so great to see. He managed to turn an unfortunate experience into positive experience. Came home to find my front door unlocked and happened to notice that my hide away key had also been moved from where I kept it hidden. Needless to say I spent the day trying to figure out how that door was left opened. I have to young kids and so there was that possibility but by the time I realized that it was very likely that SOMEONE outside the family had probably tried to get in or did, it was already into the evening. As a first time homeowner, this was my first experience with a locksmith, needed when the lock on the backdoor froze. I had no idea that one could "rekey" as opposed to just ordering all new locks. I called Bob after reviewing Yelp and he came out the same day. After explaining the rekeying process, he was able to rekey the three faulty locks on the "plus" system we had and spent a lot of time answering my questions and explaining a variety of security options that would upgrade the overall security of our home. Bob was honest and thorough. He even gave me extra keys for no extra charge. I'm not sure how he can afford to offer the prices he does and work as long and hard as he does.
