A few weeks ago my roommate called letting me know one of the locks I had Bob re-key gave out while I was out of town. I immediately called Bob, who said he could be over whenever I got back in town. No more than 30 min after getting into Sac, Bob cruises over and takes care of business as usual. In some ways its a bummer that good workmanship like this is so hard to find, as it would be nice if his ethic was the rule rather than the exception, but such is life as. What a great service! Bob is prompt, courteous and professional. I live in the Bay Area and sometimes finding people to do work at a house in Sacramento isn't the easiest task. I called him on Tuesday in need of having locks changed. So when I call Bob I tell him there are three doors with a total of six locks. He gave me a price that I thought was more than fair. When he arrived, he inquired about the security door (also with two locks) that I forgot about, and not only did he change the locks on that door as well, but he didn't charge anything extra to do so. I have been a Yelp freeloader for a few years, but after requesting and receiving Bob's locksmith service, I felt compelled to write a review. We needed a couple deadbolts and door locks changed at our home and got Bob's number from a good friend. I called for an appointment Monday night and he squeezed us into his busy schedule Tuesday night. Bob was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances at a previous job in the afternoon, but he called ahead to let me know and arrived promptly thereafter. He went straight to work and quickly changed our locks and made us a new set of keys. I found Bob to be friendly (to my dog as well), professional, and most important - very competent. Used them to fix a lock that wouldn't budge on our commercial building. They arrived before the time they had set and had it fixed within 20 minutes. The man who came out was knowledgeable and friendly and made a frustrating situation easy. I locked myself out of a room. Brian was the first one I called out of the many listed on google. Since he was the first i called around for more prices but I couldnt find anyone with a better price. But not only the price was good. Brian was polite and made me feel like an important customer. He was on time and he gave me a call to let me know he was almost here. He even gave me a discount off of the already great price. I paid him more anyway because i felt he really deserved it. If I can give Brian 5 out of 10 stars I would. I had a broken Kwikset latch with no way of opening the door. I had removed all the hardware I could but had no way to open the latch. He came out really quick on a Sunday and safely destroyed the old latch and installed a new one. I was really impressed by how easy he made it look. I will definitely use them again if I ever need a locksmith. read more

Bob was great! I called him, made an appointment same day but due to crazy amounts of traffic I figured it would be easier to reschedule the next day. He was flexible with that. He did a great job too! I had tried to rekey my locks myself, and he completely fixed my problems, rekeyed the whole house and fixed my not-so-smart lock. Took him a little longer because the smart lock was causing him issues but all in all it was only about 30 mins. The final price was $60 for 4 locks plus fixing my mistakes. Also, he accepts credit cards. Be warned: He can be difficult to get a hold of. He seems to get really into his work and doesn't spend his time talking on the phone while on the job. He is pretty good about calling back but far from perfect. (Even his voice mail says "If I don't call you back in 15, feel free to call back") read more

We set an appointment for Bob to come to our home. He got tied up on another job because the homeowner wanted additional work. Bob called and advised that he would be late and told me the reason. When he got here, he knew what we needed. He went and bought the part, came back and installed the new door handle and lock. He even gave us extra keys as a thank you for accommodating. Bob is awesome! we got locked out during our super bowl party and called Bob after finding him on yelp. It took just about 10 mins for him to arrive and maybe 15- 20 mins to unlock our door and get us back in. This despite a very stubborn door lock that did not want to open. Bob came out for an initial consultation and we decided we would use his services. We called as the move in date got closer and made an appointment. No show. He said he had his dates wrong and would give us a discount to make up for it. We rescheduled but Bob called the day before saying he was sick so he was sending his friend to do the job. Took off work early and of course, no show. Called Bob the next day and he said he would find out what happened and call back. No call. Great prices but extremely unreliable and unprofessional. Bob does this as a hobby rather than a means of living so it's no sweat off his back. I don't recommend using them at all. read more

Bob is the best. I called him to help me get into my property that was supposed to be vacant. I found a bunch of surprises in my house that I rented out including a person living there that shouldn't have been there. After letting me in bob stayed with me the whole time while I called the police and even waited till the police arrived and got the situation under control. Bob super helpful and a great comfort to have his presence during a very potentially volatile moment between myself and the person we found on my property who shouldn't have been there in the first place. Bob also communicated in detail what were my options and was able to give me the easier fix option as he instructed to me before coming to the scene. After being stood up by a previously contacted locksmith, I decided to give Bob a try as he had such good reviews. Yelp did not let me down, and neither did Bob! He rocks, showed up early and waited in his car until exactly 10 am, our agreed time, and rang the doorbell promptly at said time. Love it. I found these guys after calling several of those 24hr locksmith hot lines and being less than impressed with the level of service they had to offer. With every 24hr locksmith I ended up talking to some call center instead of an actual locksmith. None could give me a straight answer on how much they would charge. All they did was keep insisting that there was a fee I would have to pay just for them to come out and only THEN could they determine the total costs. I know ever locks different but you can at least give an estimate can't you? They couldn't even tell if they would charge me twice for two locks (as I had a metal privacy door and a regular front door)! Bob and Brian where the only locksmiths that could give a straight answer up front in regards to their fees and they could do this because they were the only one's with enough common sense to ask questions such as what brand lock was on my door. I knew then that these guys were the real deal and professionals. Granted it took them longer to come out but they showed up exactly when they said they would. Besides, I can't justify the risk of paying twice as much just for some other guy to show an half hour earlier. These guys are true professionals as far as I'm concern and not just some business trying weasel you out of your money with vague fees. read more
