I found Gwenn on an internet search. I interviewed a few other designers but hired Gwen after her receiving her detailed follow-up email from the initial visit. In that email she clearly articulated a vision for how my house should be furnished and accessorized. I was sold: "Based on what I gathered from you and your home, I imagine the design of your space would fall somewhere in the realm of warm contemporary, comfy, understated but a touch swanky, masculine, PNW natural / rustic. Neutral and subdued colors, varied natural textures, layered and homey, soulful. Furnished with timeless and quality elements that could work in future homes too." Gwen has executed on the vision perfectly all the while taking my feedback and taste into consideration. Gwen selected furniture, carpets, lighting, art, plants, and décor for my office, living room, bonus room, master bedroom, kitchen, outdoor patio, and hallways. She helped me accessorize my kitchen with all new cookware, knives, silverware, gadgets, etc. Saying that Gwen selected all of these items does not do justice to her work. The pieces selected were of the highest quality. Quality observable to the eye and to the touch. Most the pieces selected are themselves a work of art that give me joy just to look at daily. Some of the pieces were custom made to be the perfect fit for the space. Gwen found the craftspeople and helped design these custom pieces. Gwen was a consummate professional throughout the entire process. She did all the coordination of ordering and deliveries. Gwen found electricians to install the lighting and spent all day here making sure that a custom light fixture was installed. Her punctuality is something that I must comment on because when she told me that she would be at my house at a certain time I could set my watch to her arrival. I sincerely appreciated this punctuality because I believe it speaks volumes to how she cares about her clients and her craft. All of this work and sourcing was during COVID shutdowns when lead times on furniture exploded which made the project more difficult. All of the accounting and billing was online and easily accessible. In summary, Gwen designed the spaces in my home in a way that bring a smile to my face ever day. She did all of the work and minimized the amount of effort needed by me. I couldn't be happier with the result.

The remodel replaced the floor with vinyl tile, replaced the tub surround tiles with vinyl sheets and replaced the vanity, counter mirror, tub, lights and all fixtures. The finished bathroom looks great with no issues. The fixtures, vanity and surfaces chosen by the Lux design crew look great. The installer did a great job, was very courteous and did the job with minimal disruption.

We wish we had chosen a different architect. Initially, H2D seemed competent and pleasant during…read morethe first part of our home remodel. However, our overall experience with them was unsatisfactory. Admittedly, our remodel was problematic and revealed challenges we hadn't anticipated. However, common oversights and miscalculations by H2D resulted in generated revenue for H2D and added expense and time to our remodel. At the beginning of the project, H2D called for a meeting so we could discuss key design aspects of a particular room. The plans that H2D created after that meeting failed to reflect the very specific design choices we had made. Additionally, H2D miscalculated a key structural measurement that cost us time and money with our contractors (and it was a mistake that we, with no architectural background, were able to clearly see). H2D also provided plans with handwritten notes that we and 2 contractors could not clearly read. We asked the architect to make the notes legible, which was our expectation from the onset. She made them legible, but charged us an additional $1,200 for the changes. After receiving the invoice and us questioning the charge, the architect stated that she "did not work for free." We asked her to consider reducing the charge by half. She agreed to a 16% reduction. The next invoice we were charged hourly every time a contractor called about our project. H2D managed to recuperate that 16% discount (and then some) by fielding our contractor's questions. Our last dealings with H2D were when we discovered they had provided the wrong plans to a contractor without key revisions. At this point, all parties involved decided it would be better to deal with our structural engineer and bypass H2D entirely. A relationship with an architect is a critical component to a remodel. We had hoped that our architect would take responsibility for poor work and provide helpful customer service (other significant examples lacking in these areas are not included in this review). The continual errors made by H2D, combined with navigating the architects' temperament, made for a sour experience that aggravated an already stressful experience of a home remodel.

They even gave us the suggestion of starting the floors, and then coming back to finish them after we finished painting walls because of dust, debris, etc., to make sure we were happiest with the end result. When we had questions or any concerns, they were quick to call, give tips, and come back to assess or change something based on our preferences. They even gave us some of the product they used so we could match our baseboards and fill them the way they suggested. I would highly recommend them for any flooring project.

During the process some unanticipated issues came up and they showed flexibility and willingness to change the scope of the project and schedule accordingly. They are detail oriented. After we had them reinstall all baseboards there was one place we were not quite happy, they came back and fixed it. The end result was beautiful and it had been a great experience working with Serhii and his family crew! Northwest Flooring is definitely at the top of my list for any of our future hardwood flooring needs!

Not only did they install a beautiful custom made railing on my interior stairs and the bridge that connects both sides of my upstairs, they also coordinated with their subcontractor, Prymych Home Services, to replace my carpeting with LVP flooring. City Bee ran both the railing and flooring projects so I had one quote, one contract and one project manager. Their price was very competitive, they did high quality work, and they finished in a timely manner. Oleksandr, the owner, project managed everything and made himself available all throughout the project. He was very responsive to all my questions and provided thorough answers so I could understand the technical aspects of the work. And when I wanted a couple of small changes they were accommodated cheerfully without impacting the project timeline. I highly recommend City Bee and wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

Stopping in to this lovely little shop made our day better. I see here on the yelp page for this business that this business was established in 2014, however, when I asked the customer service lady when they'd opened, she told me that they'd opened in February of this year! I thought that was gutsy because I hadn't known this business existed before today, so I got the mistaken impression that the business was brand new. Perhaps she meant that this particular location opened in February 2021. In any case, I wish them all the luck, and I thank them for bringing a cheerful and uplifting experience to my day today! Took it in and they were able to tell me it's a European lamp with an usual size of socket threading, but they found a solution and it was rewired and ready to pick up in under 2 weeks! Well guess what... I put the lampshade on and adjusted it too tightly and the socket cracked... then 2 days later our large 2X3 foot painting fell, knocking over the lamp (shade was not attached at the time) damaging it further and we had picture frame glass shards everywhere! Not our lucky day. We took the lamp back and they had a stronger socket. Our lamp shade was large and too heavy for the first one. Now it's fixed and looking great. Thanks LUXE team, you are great!

The piece has been brought to life and the glow of it feels like my mother is smiling on me. One of the flowers was broken and the enamel was flacking off all over it. I couldn't even tell you which flower had been broken! The old wire has been replaced and I feel safe having it in my home. I will enjoy this piece for the rest of my days, and when I'm gone hopefully one of my brother's sons will want to enjoy it. Thanks Luxe!

Joslin Upholstery & Interior contacted me within a day with a quote. When I took my chairs in the service was great! Jack, Pam, and Carol are all friendly, professional, and patient. The selection of fabric can be overwhelming so be prepared to spend hours digging through fabric sample books. I took home a few sample books and spent a week deciding with my wife. Once you decide on the fabric be sure to have your checkbook as a deposit is required before work begins. Three weeks later I went back to pick up my chairs and was amazed. To say that the craftsmanship is top notch is no exaggeration. It's difficult to put into words but everything about the work done screams quality. I decided to go with 1st Ave because they were very responsive on the phone and email, and they were able to do the work faster than GS. I also really liked that the people at 1st Ave weren't pushy like at they were at some of the other companies. They came though with all they promised to do - called me when they were on the way to the job site, installed everything so all cabinets and drawers lined up and worked flawlessly, cut the quartz offsite and came back to install countertops, and cleaned up after themselves. I have been recommending them to friends and neighbours, and I would most definitely use them again.
