Picked up a tuna hoagie on Wednesday at 5pm. Hardly any tuna mostly lettuce tomato cheese and sweet pepper. We were disappointed. Will not go back. I called them about 6pm on Wednesday and explained my frustration. Guy that answered said I will tell the manager and see what we can do for you. No one called back. Definitely not worth the $19.00 for a regular sized hoagie. Won't go back. Owner should make it right and credit my visa card for the $19.00.. read more

This deli was recommended a few years ago. I am so glad I had time to stop. There were so many items to choose from on the menu. I was deciding between a corned beef special and an Italian hoagie. I went with the Italian hoagie as recommended. As a Philly native, a great hoagie starts with a delicious roll, mayo, little oil, freshly cut meat, cheese, and seasonings. I replaced the prosciutto with tavern ham. This hoagie is an absolute 10/10. The roll has a crispy texture on the exterior and a chewy center, ham, salami, and capocollo, provolone were thinly sliced and fresh. Great customer service from the moment I walked in the door. Fighting between a 3 and 4 here because we're in true 3.5 territory but opting down. It's the bread. You don't have good bread, you can't hoagie with the greats. This Deli just does not hit on the bread - it's that super thick and hard to chew bread. Good meat to sandwich ratio, good meats, good fixins. I actually received the wrong order - no chap on my hide - I got some sort of spicy turkey. It was spicy! Respect. Nonetheless cannot advance in the hoagie standing because of the bread. read more

I live in S Philly but I work in Berwyn. Living in S Philly I'm spoiled when it comes to delis. Who knew one of my favorite delis would become this shop right down the street from work in Newtown Square. A Cut Above is quality. The cutlets are fantastic, my favorite is the Dante's Inferno. Outside of cutlets I've tried the Gravesend and it was equally delicious. The folks at the deli are always welcoming and it's a pleasure every time I stop in. Go check it out asap. read more

Fast, fresh, friendly; what's not to love? They stuff their sesame seed bread with fresh, tasty ingredients, and with the thickness of the bread, you'll be stuffed too! It's a hefty hoagie! Called in an order at around 11:30 and they said it'd be done in 10-15 mins, which was spot on. The person I spoke to was courteous and professional. Potato salad was pretty good, too. I'm still partial to Boccella's (love their in-store offerings and it's closer to where I am), but A Cut Above is a great spot and my definite go-to whenever Boccella's is closed haha. read more

Ok so here goes, the Italian hoagie is very good, like really good. As others have said, if your a little hung up on the bread its going to matter to you. If you demand a Liscio's roll (and you have every right too!) then you will be imagining this hoagie as the best you ever had. The roll it comes with is decent, good in fact. Not anything like that wawa junk roll. If these guys switched out that roll they would be a top hoagie firm. I will definitely go back and sample the rest of the menu. Growing up in Delco, A cut above was elite. Went the other day to get my normal spicy turkey which I havent had in a year or so, the bread and turkey were completely different products than what I've known for 20 years. Maybe the owner can confirm but did they switch suppliers? Hoagie was still good but not like it used to be. I did go later in the day, maybe I was given the wrong Turkey, not sure but it was 100% different. Same with the roll, still seeded but completely different. Just my two cents read more

Stop in often to pick up a sub. Very knowledgeable staff. Will customize if you ask. I usally call ahead or just walk in and order rather then use a food delivery app. When I call order is always right. Walk in they treat you right. Good place. Parking can be rough though. read more

I was somewhat disappointed with the hoagies. A regular roll option would have been nice. After eating 1/4 of it, my jaw was exhausted from chewing the seeded roll. (I think they are better with a hot sandwich.) So we didn't finish them. I bought Liscio's rolls the next day and rebuilt the hoagie. Much better! read more

No frills spot but the hoagies are always solid. The spicy turkey is my fave and my bf loves the classic Italian. Bread is chewy and strong enough to hold lots of filling, which they don't skimp on. Be sure to ask them to cut in half and if you want pickles or sweet peppers, get them on the side so the bread doesn't get soggy. Portions are big and you can easily split a regular into 2 meals or just pig out if you're starving. They have a small deli market inside including drinks, chips, and side items like macaroni salad, pepper shooters, etc. No seating so take out only and prices aren't bad considering the size of the sandwiches. Plus they're open Sundays so you can enjoy deliciousness for Eagles games. Parking shouldn't be an issue as it's located in a strip mall along route 3. Highly recommend cut above! read more
