This was a very good cheesesteak. It ended up traveling pretty far and held up really well. Jem's is takeout only and I didn't see any microbrews nearby where I could eat. $9.49 before tax. It is a good size. Liscio's roll, so you know that was good. The meat was a thicker slice and a bigger chop. It was a very good eating meat. The cheese had a good amount and melted through nicely. The extras disappointed me. Seeing Deli and Catering in the name I was expecting the extras to be a little nicer. The mushroom were visible but I just didn't taste them. I don't know how it took me so long to try a breakfast sandwich from Jems. My wife and I had a sausage egg and cheese on a kaiser roll. I was making my coffee and my wife had the first few bites and said how good it was and commented that the roll was so good. Anyone from Philly area knows, a good sandwich starts with a good roll. I'm always looking for another breakfast sandwich option in the morning. Quite honestly, breakfast sandwiches are one of my absolute favorite things to eat in the world. To do one right, it's really not hard. You just have to be willing to use the right ingredients and make them perfectly. That means two fresh eggs, perfectly cooked and ample meats, properly melted cheese, and a fresh roll. You'd be surprised that there are places out there that don't get this concept. But Jem's, they know what they're doing. And they make a perfect breakfast sandwich. Their coffee isn't the best. So they don't get 5 stars. And their grocery section is nothing to write home about. We have always loved ordering food from Jems...especially at the holidays. I stopped in last Friday morning to order 2 chicken cutlet sandwich trays and 2 pounds of broccoli rabe for December 22nd. Mike said his daughter would be in from Chicago this week and the "envelope" for orders would be open then. I just called and he told me they are not taking ANY orders for chicken cutlet trays. Really?? They've lost a customer. I know it's an extremely busy time, but that's no way to do business. read more

This was my third time there to pick up some of their chicken salad, which is absolutely delightful!!! I was on my way to work and when I smelled the breakfast sandwiches I had to have one. I ordered the veggie wrap with egg whites. It was delicious! While I was waiting for my sandwich one of the other staff members was very friendly and I was chatting with him while he worked. I recently stumbled upon jems after a coworker recommended it. I got a breakfast sandwich, a hoagie, and a cheesesteak. Everything was absolutely amazing. While in the store I got to chat with the owner, Mike, who was a great guy. Then coincidentally later that night I was at the polish club in Clifton for Clifton pool's fundraiser. My 11 year old daughter went there to get her and her little sister a treat and she had a small purse to carry my phone and some money. We live across the street! Well someone told the cashier she was putting stuff in her purse and he approached her. She said he asked if she had candy in her bag and she said no and he said if I check will I find any and she said no and he checked her bag and found nothing! She comes home in tears! This guy freaked her out and went in her bag! He went about it in the wrong way! I understand that some kids are bad but she isn't! And you can't go through a child's bag!!!!
