So one day as we were coming home, we decided to stop in. It is sensory overload! It was so colorful and packed with so many cute things in the shop. You can find gifts for friends or yourself. There were great items for kids, teens and adults. I loved the vintage board games. They were packaged in such an attractive way. I found a couple of really pretty decorative pieces for my condo too. This would be the perfect place to find a housewarming or hostess gift. There was a delightful dog at the store. I think maybe the owners... I love when a business brings their doggie to work. It really made the store more fun to shop in. I wish I had been able to spend more time in this adorable shop. I will definitely return the next time I am back in town.

I was worried about my decision to stick with Brandi as my hairstylist after the awful consultation I received, which I had to pay FULL PRICE for. It was a couple of weeks before the wedding, so I felt I had no other choice. She didn't listen to what I wanted. I felt like she just did whatever she wanted...I could've done a better job, but it was my wedding day and I wanted a professional. I wanted no worries. I got the very opposite. Brandi zipped up my veil in the garment bag I brought it in after my consultation, therefore ripping it. She proceeded to deny that she did this. This should've been a red flag. I should've ran screaming for the hills. She is probably the most unfriendly stylist I have ever had the displeasure to meet. I was willing to believe she was simply having a bad day. This is the one aspect of the day I was truly unsatisified with...my hair. Did I mention she used a regular rubberband in my hair? Like, one you would use in an office. On my wedding day, she glanced at a picture I brought in, and AGAIN, proceeded to do a very sloppy job with my hair, rushing to keep her appointment with her next client. I began to cry. She was completely unsympathetic. She redid it. I was still unhappy with it, but it would have to do because I WAS ON A SCHEDULE AS WELL! I felt so stupid. I am so nice and felt like she took advantage of that. I even gave her a good tip. What was I thinking? My veil was not securely fastened and fell out several times even before the ceremony. It also fell out mid-ceremony. My hair looked like shit and was falling out of the bobby pins, which showed oh so tackily. I was looking at my wedding photos and my hair just looks AWFUL in them. Thanks a lot, Brandi. You should find a new profession because you suck at what you do.

Maggie and her team are extremely professional and kind. Marissa did my hair and make-up trials and she did such a nice job of picking the right colors and styles for me. I'm not much of a make-up person anyways so I didn't give her much to go off of, but I was so pleased that she came up with a nice natural palette that still accented my features and made me feel done up in just the right way. My sisters and I got our nails (pedicures and manicures) a few days before the wedding and the space was perfect. There were three of us, and they had our appointments overlap and rotated us through. The nail room was the perfect spot to spend our morning and we could chat and not feel like we were interrupting other customers. Our nails ended up just how we wanted them and we really enjoyed the ladies who did them for us. Last, my bridal party and I all had our hair done off-site for the wedding. They were very accommodating with our unique space for the hair appointments and everyone loved how their hair turned out! We all selected pretty different styles and it was so nice to actually have them end up that way (I've had hair done from other places and we've all ended up with pretty much the same 'do despite not requesting that, so this was a relief). They were right on time, finished us up a few minutes early and were nice to have as a part of the big day. I'd recommend any of these services to others- and already have.

I called The Parlor, without knowing anything about them, looking for a place to have my daughters,…read moremy sisters, and my hair done for my daughters wedding. All of us are from out of town and knew nothing about any salons in the area, so finding and going to a stylist that we didn't know was scary and stressful, but my first call to The Parlor made me feel at ease. Lauren (the owner) reassured me and made me feel comfortable. Not only did she make me feel comfortable with our hair plans, but was also a local person who knew many of the other venders that would be at my daughters wedding and spoke highly of them. We set up appointments for both a trial run and the day-of styling. The trial appointment went well and Lauren and Taylor were super friendly and easy to work with. They listened to what we were looking for and tried options until we were happy with the outcome. The only concern we had after the trial was that mine and my daughters hair didn't stay put for long, but we found that they can't use as much product for a trial so they can work with different styles. The hair for the actual wedding day was absolutely perfect and lasted all day/night long! I felt that Lauren and Taylor both did a great job making us feel welcome and giving us beautiful hair up-dos for the wedding.
