Dr. Park saved me from a root canal! I went to him for a second opinion after my first dentist said I needed one. Dr. Park was very honest and forthright about my tooth, saying he could try saving it but if there was pain after the filling, I may need one. Wanting to avoid a root canal at all cost, I told him, let's do it! He was very gentle, skilled, and made sure I was comfortable. The tooth came out beautiful! It has been over a month since the filling and absolutely no pain or issues. I've been coming to A+ Dental in San Pedro with Dr. Philip Park for years, and my family has been coming here using my dad's Longshoremen insurance. Because we've been patients here for years, this recent experience with the front desk was extremely disappointing. My original appointment was scheduled for Wednesday, August 12 at 10:00 AM. On Thursday, August 6, the office called me and asked if I wanted to move my appointment to Friday, August 7 at 10:00 AM. I agreed, but later that evening my kids reminded me that they had something going on at school that Friday morning. I called the office as soon as they opened to let them know I couldn't make the newly moved appointment and asked to keep my original appointment date. I was then told I would have to pay a $50 same-day cancellation fee. I was confused because my original appointment was not that Friday--the office had contacted me and asked me to move it up to Friday. I understood that I had agreed to the change, but I didn't feel it was fair to be charged a same-day cancellation fee when the appointment had originally been scheduled for the following Wednesday. Despite this, I called again on August 19 to schedule my cleaning. I was given an appointment for Monday, August 31 at 12:00 PM. I was again told about the $50 fee and was told I could speak with Dr. Park about it when I came in. I agreed. I drove approximately 45 minutes from Anaheim to San Pedro for this appointment, only to arrive and be told there was no appointment for me on the schedule. After checking my information, the front desk staff member told me that I had never actually been scheduled because I didn't want to pay the $50 cancellation fee. This was extremely frustrating because my understanding from our conversation was that I WAS being scheduled for that date and time and could discuss the fee with Dr. Park when I came in. What makes this even more disappointing is that I made a 90-minute round trip, spent money on gas, and rearranged my day based on what I was told by the office. If I was not actually going to be scheduled, that should have been clearly communicated to me when I called. I understand that dental offices have cancellation policies, but there also needs to be clear communication and good customer service. Patients should not have to drive nearly an hour each way only to arrive and find out they were never actually scheduled. After being a patient here for years and coming here through my dad's Longshoremen insurance, I expected much better communication and customer service. I hope management addresses this because this experience was extremely frustrating and could have easily been avoided with proper communication. read more

I visited this office on 8/25/25. They were a referral from a friend so I had a lot of confidence in them. Boy was I wrong. This office is why people believe that dentist are scammers. First they told me it would be $234 to clean my teeth but I get 2 feee cleanings a year with insurance. Apparently this is the price for a deep cleaning which I NEVER asked for. Then Dr. Park said that the bridge I had need to be replaced so he was referring me to a colleague. To make a long story short. I walked out with an estimate charge of $5,500 in dental work. They tried to get me to obtain care credit. I was so upset and overwhelmed that I left wanting to cry. Two weeks later, I found another amazing dentist who said I didn't need a deep cleaning or a new bridge. The bridge just needed adjusting and my teeth only needed the standard cleaning. The new dentist was able to do my 2nd bridge using my insurance only. Please shop around and don't choose any old dentist who will use up all your insurance benefits in unnecessary procedures then turn around and charge you for what you really need but now you have to pay out of pocket read more

I moved to San Pedro 2 yrs ago and tried a couple dentist before coming here. Dr. Park is so friendly, explains everything in detail. His office staff is great, it's always easy to get an appointment very quickly. I had a couple fillings done, I felt it was time to get my wisdom teeth out, got a deep clean, now just going for regular cleaning and X-rays. I've been going here since 2020 during the pandemic when I moved to San Pedro, CA. All of the staff are great, professional, knowledgeable, & extremely punctual. Dr. Park & his hygienist always performs superbly well and their work is phenomenal. They're top notch in many ways such as choosing high quality filler materials, the client's time & issues is priority, they have great communications, and their service is just streamlined. I recently tried going to a different dentist that's closer to my workplace in El Segundo and they turned out to be a scam. This is not the place for anyone who has anxiety about dental procedures. In California, dentists must obtain informed consent for all dental procedures, including injections. I specifically asked about the procedure before the work started. Dr. Park not only failed to inform me that he was giving me an injection, he later said " I don't need to tell you" and then told me to go elsewhere. read more

I'm so impressed by Dr. park and his staff. Excellent experience in a clean and friendly environment. TV screens right inside the exam rooms and they accept most insurance plans. Context: I had a painful abscess that I'd been given antibiotics for at urgent care and I hadn't been to a dentist for a long time. I was quite frightened at the prospect of going in for any dental work at all, let alone an abscess. On my first visit Dr. Park was able to perform the root canal right then and there on my upper right bicuspid. About Dr. Park: He was fantastic. He didn't shame me for waiting so long to get dental work and instead very comforting about the next steps forward. He explained the possible causes and talked me through every part of what he planned to do. As he performed the root canal, he kept me informed as to what he was the entire time. Very fast and virtually no pain. The staff: Stevie helped me with all my financial questions and put me at ease - she was great. I had visited my regular dentist the previous week (1 hr away) with another DDS covering for my regular doctor since he was on vacation. After my cleaning, his stand-in recommended a far more extensive procedure than needed. I'm glad I trusted my gut and sought a more qualified DDS. I discovered A+ Dental with extensive positive reviews now that I live in the South Bay area. I received the best care and treatment from Dr. Park and his staff that a customer could ask for. Throughout the treatment I was kept abreast with each step of the process (even provided visuals).
