I saw how a woman was treated by the management, and it was shameful of the cashier the rudeness to other customers. No this is not the store for regular grocery shoppers. This is for the tourist. This is for unhoused people. A quick stop for some snacks and bottle drinks. I am writing to formally report an incident at my local Grocery Outlet location. I have been a loyal customer for over five years, and I have never experienced treatment like this before. During my recent visit, I was asked to provide identification for my purchase. I agreed and went to retrieve my ID from my car. I noticed, however, that the customer immediately in front of me was not asked for identification. I calmly stated that if IDs were being checked, the policy should be enforced fairly and consistently. At that point, the manager seemed offended and escalated the situation. She loudly addressed the entire store, belittling me , yelling at me everything caught me off guard and saying she refused service to me, insisting I leave. I did not raise my voice or act aggressively, I complied and felt deeply embarrassed and humiliated in front of other customers. I felt discriminated because the woman in front of me was not given a hard time when asked for I.d but once it was my turn she began giving me attitude until she blew up. I was calm until she began discriminating me. Her behavior made me feel singled out, discriminated against, and disgusted by her actions. Even as I left the store, her loud comments continued. Even after leaving a gentlemen caught me outside and said,"she is crazy she was being a total "b" there shouldn't have been any of that.." This incident turned what should have been a routine transaction into a public humiliation. I am requesting a full review of the manager's conduct, as well as clarification on your store's ID enforcement policies to ensure customers are treated respectfully and fairly. How do you make a business when the store clerk actively refuses to sell anything at the store? And I'm not just talking about myself I have seen it happen to other people. I have seen customers put stuff on the counter and hand the cashier money and the cashier refuses to accept it. So then the customer walks out confused. And the same thing happened to me.

Here nothing is sorted out so you have to rummage through bins of loose stuff, but if you enjoy the hunt of thrifting, you're gonna love this place. But beware, when they roll out a new bin from the back it gets aggressive like sharks in the water around prey so if the idea of competing with others and grabbing stuff in a frenzy (or at least new stuff to the floor) then you may want to hang back. I personally love finding those diamonds in the rough so I love this thrift store.
