Never disappointed here. I usually stop in at least once a week, because of the snack, chip and drinks sections. Always an interesting and unique collection to chose from....things you can't always find anywhere else. This store has some great deals and products, if you shop .....almost anything can be found here. Friendly staff, helpful and will even carry groceries to car, if asked. read more

This place is the bottom of the barrel. The store lacks merchandise, it's dirty and unorganized. If that isn't enough to turn you off add poor customer service and ignorant cashiers to the list and that my friend is what you'll get when you shop at this location. read more

What a dump! Shelves more than half empty and merchandise in complete disarray. Store layout very crowded. Long lines at register. No management oversight or control evident. Employees goofing off in aisles. I used to work at DG in New Milford Pennsylvania and that store was a 4 star business. The DHS doesn't even deserve a one star. Needs to close for a good reorganization and restocking. Needs a strong manager and a crew that will take ownership of the appearance of their store. Corporate needs to make sure merchandise is replenished before the shelves become empty. An utter embarrassment to the Dolgencorp brand. read more

Valentin was amazing!!! He actually cared about what I really wanted and needed! I asked if you had a single burning coil stove and he knew exactly what I was talking about put me on quick hold and grabbed it for me and put it aside so I can come and purchase it! When I came to pick up he said I sold it but then he said I'm just kidding but it made me laugh and put a smile on my face I think it was great customer service! read more

Worst service from a coworker who jumped in to help the night manager. It was already resolved from the district manager. We got told to leave and didn't even get our purchase and she kept my receipt after over charging me. read more

I just went in, and I got charged for an item twice by a young man who was talking on his personal cellphone while charging customers and continued texting while charging me. Why does dollar general not understand that the people they hire are a reflection of their business. The manager Bonnie was on some drugs today. I believe she was on meth or some sort of drug. First of all she was going faster than what I've seen her before but not in a good way. She was messing up the line was so long. It makes me so sad that the corporate department does nothing about things like this. They really need to hire people that know what is going on. I'd fire that Bonnie lady quick. Does the people who operate this company know how much of a disaster this store has become in the few months they have changed management here? Only one manager (Scott) is every around to help with problems. The rest are never around or available. My wife still shops there for a few items and even she is not going much. I now go to Von's, Walmart, Walgreens to do my shopping. I will not spend a dime until they return to the helpful people that used to work there. FIX THE PROBLEM! read more

This store has experienced a turnover in staff. Several of the new associates are pleasant and eager to help, even going the extra mile to be of assistance. There is one person in particular, though who is neither , helpful, cheerful, nor well informed. I was told by cashier "Jimm". (Yes, he cleverly spells his name with 2 "M"'s). The manager accused me of stealing by chasing me down in the parking lot filming me and my license plate yelling that I didn't pay for my toilet paper. This was the manager who was right next to the cashier who I paid. When I showed her my receipt she didn't even apologize. Not ok. read more

It's not the first time this has happen with the same employee. He is rude and unprofessional also disrespectful. He disrespected my mother and called her out her name. A grown 40 year old African American male named Lacele Johnson mocked my mother in an childish manner. No one else but him and another young man were disgustingly disrespectful. The manager Jonathan was very professional and sympathetic. My family comes to this store every time so we know the employees and manager/shift managers. read more

I enjoy shopping at DG/Desert Hot Springs. Everyone that I've met there working has been pleasant and helpful. Will continue to shop there. One caveat: as with other "discount" stores, not everything is cheaper than Walmart, etc. If you know your prices you can still save a great deal of money. read more

This place is a nightmare I have seen some trash walk in and out of this store! I have seen people with pets in the store I never liked this place from the get go with k mart right next store the prices are the same. So one night while our for a walk with my 5 pound pom Pom in my arms I walked in real quick to get diapers for my daughter since I was right there and forgot that I needed them when all of a sudden I was asked to leave because of my dog. Seriously? She's in my arms and I have seen many people roaming this store with there pets! Though the loss of one person really won't matter I'll be sure to never go in here again I'll stay at the just as trashy k mart at least they have never thrown me out! read more

While DG has savings in areas such as cleaning products, eggs, and milk, many other products cost about the same, if not a little more, than other dollar stores in DHS. Also, many Clover Valley (seems to be the DG brand) items which were initially stocked in the DHS store have been absent from shelves for a month or more. Stevia packets, which were a great buy at $1.00 for a box of about 40 packets have not been in stock for at least two months. Clover Valley sharp cheddar at $2.35 has not been stocked for several weeks. I have asked and asked and asked. I am always told these items are "Coming in the truck on Thursday." But they never arrive. Clearly, this store has a stocking/supply problem. Although they have less and are a much smaller store, I much prefer the dollar store next to Von's in DHS. They can be relied on to always have regular items in stock, and prices really are a dollar for most. Owners are very friendly, helpful and efficient. The dollar store next to Stater Bros. is larger and a little more expensive, but has some Asian food items that other dollar stores do not carry. read more

Would give this place a 0 star if possible. Lets start with them being messy, never having anything in-stock and HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I agree this place is a nightmare. After todays experience with Alexis the cashier i would gladly drive anywhere else (NOT KMART!) several people said hi to her asked how her day was and she flat out looked at them rolled her eyes and said NOT A DAMN WORD. Didnt count change back dropped it on the counter for them to pick up..they said bye to her and again NOTHING. She is cold and rude. So my turn came said hi..no response. This store is a very sad excuse for a store. Empty shelves, trash on the floor, isles blocked with boxes of merchandise that should be on the shelves - NOT IN BOXES ON THE FLOOR. Lots of perishable items have expired dates and are still for sale. No one does any housekeeping. Merchandise thrown everywhere. Such a shame, a properly run Dollar General is a great place to shop. This is not one of those stores. read more

This store is a waste of time. Vons or Stater Bros actually have better prices. Just because it says "dollar" doesn't mean you're saving!
