My newer water heater went out and the first repair company that I called barely looked at the unit and told me my only option was to pay over $2k to have it replaced. I called A Fast Plumbing & Drain for a second opinion and he walked me though relighting my pilot (first company didn't even try). I was able to light it but it went out again after a couple of hours. He asked me what lights were blinking and was able to determine the problem and have the part ordered before he came out for repairs. I really appreciated that he helped me trouble shoot and rule out something simple before I paid him to come out. He competed the repairs and gave me the invoice of just under $200. Our tankless hot water heater was producing scale and needed to be flushed. The lines were also clogged and we wanted to find someone who could flush them and replace the filter in our Heater Treater filter. We called another plumber, but they didn't work on tankless units so they recommended A Fast Plumbing. We called A Fast and they had me send them pictures of the tankless heater and the filter. When he arrived, he didn't say a word to me, he just dove in and started tearing my water heater apart. He said that it was broken and he'd have to come back another time and replace a part. Then he asked how long we had been without water. I was confused because the unit had been working fine, it was just producing scale and our kitchen sink faucet was clogged. We had hot water everywhere else. He claimed that I had told him it was broken, which was not even slightly true. He left that night because it was already late when he arrived. Later that evening, my wife and I decided to just go ahead and have him replace the tankless with a regular water heater. He procured a water heater that would fit in the small space we had returned after a week or so to make the conversion. He did a great job installing it and it works just fine, but here's my complaint: 1. He somehow managed to spray some kind of sticky liquid all over my wife's car. 2. He took our Heater Treater filter (which we had installed by another plumber two years ago) and even though I've asked him repeatedly to return it, he has not. So basically he stole it. 3. He bailed out after the installation and never cleared out the water lines or got our kitchen sink working (which was part of the quote). I finally gave up (after repeated attempts to get him to come out) and paid another plumber to finish the job. 4. All the while he was doing the installation, he kept complaining about how difficult it was: the cabinet was too tight, the cabinet was too high and the heater was so heavy to lift, etc. instead of just bringing a helper. This guy is a pathetic excuse for a plumber. Don't use him. read more

Kevin did not communicate what time he would get to our home. We left our home to get some food to a place that's less than 10 min away. He arrived during that time. When we got back Kevin walked right by my husband and went into the first open door. He ended up going through our bathroom and master bedroom. Incredibly unprofessional. At this point I was in the Kitchen when he walked in. He didn't say a word to me either. He had a very poor attitude the whole time he was looking at our water heater. I don't know if he knows that he's in the service industry. He lit the pilot and left the gas line open when he left. He also tried going back through our master bedroom. Then he quoted my husband $1800 to replace our water heater. New water heaters run around $700. $1100 for labor just does not sit right to me. I'm sure others have had better experiences. Had Kevin replace and install a water heater that was leaking. I feel his price was extremely high. I checked prices of the exact water heater he installed and for me to buy this water heater, the price was around $700.00. He is a plumber so he does not pay consumer prices. So, I am sure he got it for less than that. He charged me $1300.00 dollars to install and hall away the old water heater. Really? So, he charged me $600.00 to install a water heater. Took him about one hour. I'm sorry but I think that is a rip off. I feel I was taken advantage of. Kevin seems like a nice guy and he seems to do good work, but his prices are way too high. I had water leaking out of a pipe on the side of my house so I had my home warrenty plumbers come out and they told me my water heater needed to be replaced. I didnt like the plumber as he didnt show me what was wrong when I asked he just said it had a leak so I had another plumber that home depot had come out and they wanted to charge double. The plumber, Kevin, was very chatty and knowledgeable, but too expensive. We were charged over 460 bucks to tighten a dripping valve; tighten not replace, and to cut out two 4x6 tiles; no replacement of tiles, just cut them out. That was the whole job, it took maybe an hour. Kevin came back two days later to return the faucet, that he asked, if he could take it with him, knowing we would be replacing the entire shower and faucet. Maybe he charged a couple extra hundred for the unnecessary, local, return visit...idk. I was very shocked at the price of this plumber. I called Kevin and asked him to review and revise the bill. Kevin said no, and said that he had earned his money. I will never use A Fast Plumbing & Drain ever again. For me this was a months car payment and part of an insurance payment, for one hour of this plumber's time....WOW! If price is not an issue for you, go with Kevin. If you work really hard for your money and need a reasonably priced plumber, do not call this guy, ask your family and friends for a recommendation. read more

Ok- pros: -Convinced my landlord to get the correct hot water heater instead of a smaller, cheaper heater that wouldn't accommodate the big bathtub. -Installed it the next day after determining my old one was out, quickly and efficiently. -Did a professional job with install Cons: -This guy said he would call to set up an appointment to come by and then a few hours later called me at work and said he was outside my house! I asked him when his next appointment was because I was at work and he laughed and said not for another few days. I had to leave work and rush home because we had a huge leak and I was stressed about it. I tell him I'm working and will need to leave work and drive home and will be there in 20 minutes. I get home about 15-20 min later and he wasn't even there! Said he left because I wasn't there and would be back in a few minutes. 40 minutes later they show up. -I had opened my garage door because the power company had our power shut off in the neighborhood for the day for upgrades and I needed to manually unlatch it. The owner and his partner did not knock on the door when they arrived. They simply let themselves into my home! I didn't realize they had showed up until I heard voices and my dog started barking at the garage door. I think this is outrageously unprofessional. I asked them why they didn't knock and he laughed at me and asked if I needed them to come around to the door now, basically mocking me. I am a woman, home alone, and two strangers just let themselves into my home without letting me know. I'm not sure why this was funny to them. -The owner stated he would not be able to get the part that day, would need to come back the following day. All good. I understand this completely. I let him know I'll be working the following day, but that my mom could be there to let him in if he gave me a time. He states he has another job in the morning but will be there around noon. He asks for my moms number to call if something comes up. At 2:30 the next day, my mom texts and asks if something changed because they still have not arrived. I call the owner, frustrated at this point, and he tells me it's my fault because he said he would call when he was on his way and that's why he got the phone number. What?? I cannot comprehend how "we will see you around noon unless something happens" turned into "we said we would call you when we were headed over". Why tell me a time at all? I asked him what time they expected to be at my house and he stated another hour. So an hour and a half later they show up. My mom opens the door and before she can even say hello, he says to her "DONT EVEN START WITH ME". My mom tells him not to speak to her like that, shocked that he would be so aggressive. I guess it's an improvement that they even knocked this time? He rolled his eyes at her and walked into the garage and completed the work. I hate to leave bad reviews for small business. I get the struggle but I have never dealt with someone aggressive and unprofessional like that without cause. I would not recommend this company, at all.
