Had the fluid, filter and pan changed, standard service for a 17' Durango and these plastic pans are known for cracking. As a walk in they had me in and out in 5hrs - nice job for a Friday walk In. Shop manager Nick then hit me up a couple days later checking In. Unfortunately the leak continued so I brought it back In. Nick put it on the lift first thing and let me take a look as he inspected as well. I know my way around vehicles, so I try not to be a nuisance but also don't want to be screwed because of so many bad experiences from other shops. Nick was able to speak educated on the issue, finding the leak and giving me part numbers and advice since I'll do this portion myself. No ego or hard feelings I didn't have his team do the service, something's I just do myself. All in all, his team did a great job setting expectations with me and handling the service, they didn't charge for my walk in inspection today and the advice. They've earned my service for the next thing I need.

It almost seems that all they were doing was just resetting my car so that the engine light would go away. After driving my car for about 50 miles the engine light came on AGAIN!!! I returned to the shop seeking clarification and a potential remedy, only to be met with a dismissive attitude and further charges for services that I believed should have been included in the initial repair. The lack of effective communication and customer care was disheartening, amplifying my dissatisfaction with the overall service. And the 2nd time I was charged $477 dollars for the mechanic to simply change the "THERMOSTAT HOUSING" I honestly think this amount is way too much not only do I feel like I was taking advantage, but these people are just dishonest and unprofessional. Last week I went in to have my brakes checked because I'd been hearing a faint high-pitched noise…read morewhen braking, especially at low speeds when braking or releasing the brakes. I explained this issue over the phone, and again when I arrived. The shop said my front brakes and rotors were worn, so I had both replaced. I assumed this was the reason for the noise. The staff were friendly, helpful, and the price seemed fair. However, after the replacement, the same noise was still there - which was the main reason I came in to begin with. My front brakes would need replacing eventually, but I went in mainly to diagnose the noise. They offered to check the front brakes again for free. They put my car on the lift to listen for brake noise. While I could clearly hear the high-pitched noise each time when braking, the owner said he was unable to hear it. This confused me, because my wife and child can hear the noise every time we leave the driveway. When they backed my car out, we all could hear the high-pitched noise from the rear brakes (not the front brakes). It felt like my main concern wasn't fully addressed during my first visit. I felt like I was first sold a repair (new brakes) before having my actual concerns addressed (noise). Now I'm doubting whether I also needed to replace my water pump that day - which they said was leaking when I first visited to get the brake noise checked. I paid to replace that too, but was it actually necessary, or an upsell? They said they'd take off the rear wheels for $80 to check for debris and clean them, but at this point I'm not confident they would be able to diagnose my issue anymore. I don't want to spend any more money at this shop to check something that should have been checked when I asked on my first visit. To reiterate, all of the staff were friendly and I was treated respectfully and honestly - just to be clear for anyone reading to the end. But I will be looking elsewhere for a shop that listens to customers' concerns before charging for work. UPDATE: After reading the owner's response, I feel shocked. Again, I originally came in only to diagnose a noise - not specifically to replace brakes or rotors (or a water pump). I was happy to pay for new ones in order to solve my issue - the noise. I clearly communicated I was trying to solve the noise both times. I don't appreciate being told it's my fault for not pointing out exactly which wheels the noise was coming from. I'm downgrading this from a 3-star to a 1-star review due to this response. UPDATE 2: No, I was not shown any of my old or new parts before or after replacement - I sat in the waiting room while the work was being done; during the second visit, I was only shown my own car on the lift while trying to diagnose the sound, without any parts removed. But I'm not sure what that has to do with my review. My original noise concern was not resolved, and they didn't seem able to diagnose my issue. The owner's replies to my review sound very unprofessional and accusatory (do you reply like this to every review that's not 5 stars?) and I won't be replying here anymore.

Initially, the quote was for $6k to fix the car. Tom, cautioned me that my car had a lot of miles already. My emotions would have gotten the best of me. I was hesitant and Tom offered to drive the car himself to check it out. What business owner does that these days?! He must have tested it twice to be sure because he came back and told me the car was overheating meaning the head gasket was blown. A "normal" mechanic would have fixed teh other stuff and hoped I'd be back for the rest of the $4K! Tom is a rare find. Mechanics that know the cars, not a technician, can quote you options, OEM or reliable aftermarket, and honest. People we need to send Tom Kale salads to keep him around! If you have a German car and you are anywhere near the Santa Clarita Valley AND you need service or car care, you owe it to yourself to stop in and talk to Tom or Chelsea.
