The one thing that has never changed is the attention to detail the love for the craft and the respect that this barbershop gives to their customers. Over the years, Eric and the other barbers have learned things about me and got to know me on a personal level while providing outstanding value for the cuts they provide and at their price. The phone call to make an appointment was nice due to the young lady being friendly and helpful. When I showed up the next day, everyone greeted me as soon as I stepped through the door. Let me tell you, not all barber shops do this simple thing. First impressions and feeling welcomed makes a huge difference in overall experience. That was an excellent start. I ended up with Carlo, who is the best barber, is laid back and easy to talk to. He seemed to be good in communicating so I felt he understood what type of cut I wanted. I came home and realized that the hair cut was all fucked up. Nice man the owner but not happy with the work, owner said I didn't explain to him, I ask for a simple med fade. He put a V shape in the back of my head didn't do the med fade at all, the way he cut it, he put like two different haircuts in my head. fuck am I supposed to go to work looking like this he charge me 20 bucks for fucking up my hair. It's like I had told him That I knew how to cut hair but I didn't have the Patient to do it. So for this mess I should've gone to pay a 5 dollars more and may be running late to work but I would've had a clean med fade. I usually leave ratings for restaurant's but I've been going to the Fullerton Barber Shop for years and have been extremely happy that I've chosen this as my place for haircuts. Robert, Eric & the Anthony's all give great haircuts. The shop is close to my home, they are always nice and have good conversations when I get in the chair. The prices are reasonable and I like how they make me look better after I get out of the chair which is a feat itself. I also like the fact that they celebrate the military since I lost a brother in Vietnam and my Dad was in three wars, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Well they just lost a customer. Came here once and had no issues, I was just a walk in. Today I came in at 4:30pm (they close at 5pm). I simply asked if anyone was available for a haircut, the young gentlemen looms at me and kind of looks like there is a possibility, he turns to one of the barbers (2 or 3 seats down from the front) and this barber yells out "naw I'm done at 430". He wasn't cutting anyone's hair but no worries, then the young gentleman says something a long of the lines that we can't take you. I mean geeez, simply just say your dully booked or something. I'll start off by saying whoever answered the phone was very welcoming and the shop was clean and looked to be well taken care of. Unfortunately, I also care about the quality of the haircut I received. I asked for a basic haircut, a mid-taper, some off the top, and a line-up. My barber proceeds to give an uneven, not faded, and poor "taper." Then we get to the line-up where it is not just uneven but it is also pushed back. I will not be going back to this shop, and will not be recommending it to anyone as I believe I could offer a better haircut than the one I received. read more

I've been coming to this place for a year or so now and it's easily the best barber experience I've ever had from $5 dollar cuts to "hip" spots this is hands down my favorite. It's easy to look over because it's lack of flash and subtle naming but this shop has a heart all its own with war memorabilia and small murals on the walls. It's really a no-nonsense classic barber shop, offering great cuts at an honest price. I think a regular gentlemans cut runs about 17 bucks, i have them clean my beard too for all the bells and whistles i pay about $26 and gladly! Personally my go to guys are Erick and Bob. I am visiting Fullerton from Philadelphia. I desperately needed a good haircut as I had been putting it off way too long while we have been traveling around in our RV. I found this place after doing searches for local places with good reviews and I wasn't disappointed in the least. This is a very friendly shop with many chairs and barbers waiting. Call ahead for an appointment if you can but they also take walk-ins. Great price too. I told them they don't charge enough. I left a good tip. I went to this place for a year or two. The last time I went there, the guy cutting my hair, who I hadn't met before, started up a conversation about politics. I think this was before Charlottesville, so the language of white nationalism wasn't really on my radar yet. As we were having this superficially cordial political discussion, my brain was still processing what he was saying, which with hindsight was clearly a kind of slick, polished presentation of white supremacist ideas using words that superficially sounded innocuous. Only as I was driving home did I fully process the experience and realize what I'd experienced. I went in one morning, because my regular barber was on vacation. I was tended by an older gentleman, said he was the owner. Very nice guy, excellent conversation. I really wouldn't mind being friends with him. Inviting him over for a bbq. I can't say enough how nice he was. I asked the gent for a mid-fade. He gave me a low fade instead, very low. Completely uneven and not even close to being aligned. My cut was wobbly looking and oblong. I hope my friend reads this next line: "If you can't do the job right, politely decline to do the work and ask a fellow barber for help". I would not have taken offense. It pains me to write this review because again he was a great dude but the fade was way off! Maybe fades aren't his forte, I don't know.
