Uy Barber takes awhile. 40 mins but he's just trying to perfect the cut for both of my sons and also a really nice guy. Located next to a massage parlor plaza right next to Rite Aid. Nice barber shop if you have 45-60 minutes to waste. My guy was incredibly slow. It took him 20 minutes to shave my sides. After cutting my hair on top, he would pause for 10-15 seconds to see if there was any loose hair. He did this about 10 times! I have very short hair, almost a flat top! I got fed up, rip off my apron and informed him that I was done. This was about 50 minutes into the haircut. What the heck!! My other guy was cutting my son's hair and it took him about 15 minutes longer! We felt like they enjoyed torturing you. My regular barber in Orange takes about 10 minutes to complete the entire job. I recommend coming here to see her but make sure u call for an appointment, she's appt based. Like most all places, the difference is no long waiting or crowded. I would consistently hit this spot for a haircut for the low cost, $12, sacrificing quality for simple haircut that is hard to mess up. Over the past year the price has slowly increased to $18 and quality has declined even more. The cleanliness has gotten worse also and barbers will hardly ever clean their tools/work area. My first haircut with mai was amazing! She did a great job in cutting my hair... however, it seemed like she was a little passive aggressively upset since I didn't tip her $10. Since it was my first time I thought respectively a 50% tip would be ok. I noticed after my second haircut she was a bit stand offish and every time I would try to make a conversation (ask her how her day was) she would just ignore me lol so I brushed it off. After my 3rd visit I noticed some of her regulars would tip her $10... So I thought I would be the bigger person and just start tipping her $10 hoping the quality of the haircut would be the same... little did I know it back fired. I went out to get a haircut on a Sunday at 1:00pm and I noticed there were 4 people ahead of me. After waiting an 1.5 hr, she comes over to tell me that she has to pick up her son and has to leave. Ok I get it that you have to pick up your son but don't you think it's a bit RUDE to tell someone to leave after waiting 1.5hrs.... so a customer ( a random dad) stood up and said to her, "Hey it's fine. That guy (me) has been quiet and watching movies. I'm not getting a haircut so you can cut him anyways." I thanked the Dad for being so nice and then noticed her muttering Derogatory words in Vietnamese. After cutting 2 people she then goes back and takes a 30 min break.... she makes her daughter go out to see if I was still there..... the random Dad customer looks over at me and quietly says," wtf..." I'm just sitting there so confused.... anyways its disappointing to encounter these types of people... I'm not sure if Mai is monetarily thirsty however, it seems a bit apparent that some people need to work on their soft skills. No offense to the other barbers at this shop. But I only go to My (Pronounced me). She now only takes appointment which is cool. Before, you would have to wait 3-5 people. Which isn't too bad since she cuts her fairly quickly and does a superb job getting your hair right. My advice...make a weekly appointment...same time every time and DONT GET CUT FROM ANY OTHER BARBER there. But if you have no choice. Go with the bigger fellow. read more

Only person in this place that knows how to cut hair is Mai, everyone els there is pretty much just there to take some of the workload off of Mai. I went to go get my haircut today and the older bald guy that works there straight up just told me that Mai wasn't there today (he knows I only let her cut my hair) and sat down to read a magazine and I've seen him sleeping on the job in previous visits . I couldn't wait so instead of him asking me if I wanted a haircut I asked him if he could give me one and I figured there was no way he could mess up a simple mid taper. Long story short, I should have know I was going to get a messed up haircut when he spent about five minutes on the same area. Then he just started hacking away at my hair. Basically I literally could have cut my own hair better than this guy. It is by far the worst haircut I have ever had, don't spend your money on anyone other than Mai. I was heading to my other Barber which was out of my way. So I decided to try this spot. I came in in between 10am - 10:30am and it's now 11:49am. I'm still waiting none of the workers approached me to tell me they have a lot of appointments. No kind of communication. So many random customers just walking in and got haircuts the lady seems to be sneaking people to be next in line. She seems to wanting to cut hair for the only people she knows but I could be wrong. Not saying one word to me while I sit here waiting. She talks more than she cuts. What piss me off there's no kind of communication.. I'm just barely leaving it's now 12:30pm. I was trying to be in and out. But now my schedule is all messed up. As far as recommendation I will not recommend this place if your in a hurry. RAGRETS. SO MANY RAGRETS. This guy could not speak a lick of English and that was not even the worst part! So I was next in line and the Asian lady skipped me to accommodate somebody that arrived after me. It must be the vietnamese connection. They spent the next 20-30 minutes speaking to each other in vietnamese and showing each other pictures on their phones while 4 other customers were waiting. Mind you that she was not cutting his hair the entire time. At the very least she could of explained why she had skipped me. But then again, she can barely speak or comprehend English.
