I have been taking my old 1985 BMW 635 CSI Bimmer to them for many many years. I just stopped by the shop and all the cars were gone even the office was gone. It looks like they're gone, closed up. Does anyone know anything about Victor closing up? I knew it was a matter of time before it would happen. He did a very good job for many years. Of course whaun would have to have have patience waiting for your car since he always was very busy. they returned my car to my home a couple of days ago, which they would do since I knew Victor for many years and trusted me and I trusted him. It's a shame that they close down, he was the only one that actually knew how to work on the old 635 Bimmers. Unfortunately, there were things that were screwed up when I got my car back,. They're closed now, so of course I can't pay him for fixed or what he broke. I still will miss them not being there and I'll have to find a shop I can still work on my own Beamer before I put it to sleep or or sell it. So after extensive research and reading reviews on Yelp, I decided to give this place a try. First of all, they are not very interested in taking your business. They say they are too busy and give you time frames like 2 weeks out. Nonetheless, I waited patiently for an appointment. My car had an issue with the motor mounts as well as the snub mount and associated hardware. I ordered parts specific to my car and had them shipped there (since they couldn't get the parts themself). I waited almost a month for the repairs to be completed. Upon receiving the car, I noticed intense vibration that wasn't present before. The car didn't feel right, and it was extremely aggravating after a $2000 job on a 17 year old car. I then decided that I couldn't trust independent shops and took the car into an Audi dealership. After thorough inspection, including videos, they found that both motor mounts were installed incorrectly. In addition, they found that a plate connecting to the snub mount had been "jerry-rigged." They literally bolted a plate across the fractured part to try and make it whole again. I can't tell you how dangerous this is and a total hack job. So basically, A. German Auto did not do a single thing correctly and cut every corner imaginable. I am a father of two saving for college, and it goes without saying I can't afford $2000 in faulty repair jobs. I do not recommend this place in any which way, shape, or form. Victor and his employees are all dishonest and just looking to make a quick buck off you. DO NOT GIVE THESE CROOKS YOUR BUSINESS!!! And to the owner....you came off as honest and helpful. You guaranteed your work when you knew it was half-ass. You should be ashamed of yourself for having no morals or integrity. This shop is dishonest and does horrible work. Do not waste your money here. read more

Really misleading. Claims they work on Porsches... shows photos saying they were serviced... HOW EVER when I call to get a price quote dude was kinda rude and told me NOPE they don't work on them... OKAY BUDDY.abbe you should remove the pictures stating that you do. And also tell the other mechanics around you to stop sending customers you'r way for Porsche repairs. read more

I just went back to see Victor because my BMW X5 had the service light on. By the time I made the time to see him, the check engine light also came on. I was preparing myself to pay a few hundred dollars, as I usually do at the dealer. After a few hours, Victor explained that I just needed to add some fluid and the service wasn't due yet. He charged me $27. The integrity and honesty of this shop is unreal in today's market. I never write reviews, but I want you all to know that Victor treated me with respect and full transparency. I wish there were more people like these guys. In the meantime, I am now a loyal customer of AGA! Btw, the first time I went in was because my hatch wasn't closing correctly. He tinkered with it, cleaned it and added some WD-40 and I was on my way. No charge. Who does that anymore?! read more

I was exhausted by my experience, and was looking for a transmission mechanic, as a result of bogus information I had received at Silver Star Automotive in Eagle Rock - after they ripped me off. Luckily, someone referred me to Victor, after calling around and visiting 2 shops that did not work on old Diesels. I called Victor, explained what my car was doing. Towed my car to his shop and within a day I was advised the repair job previously completed was either not done well or done at all. Car needed a new brake booster. Victor fixed my problem and tested the vehicle for me multiple times before returning it to me. In addition, he identified a slight leak of freon that was causing my AC to run out. He also replaced a few hoses on my engine, at no additional cost after I had paid for the work he had already completed. Finding a mechanic is no easy feat. It's one of THE hardest things to do in LA. Especially finding one the is not going to rip you off. I will definitely bring my car back to this place and since I drive an old Diesel, I would recommend this shop to any Classic Diesel driving person out there. I see a lot of old Mercedes and BMW's in my area, and was asked to recommend a mechanic that was dependable and knew about old diesels, I immediately referred them to A German Auto Services because of my experience and will continue to do so. I have been running my car now since getting it back from Victor and it is running excellently. It previously did not move past 10-20mph, and I can now confidently get on the freeway at 65-70 mph. I had called around looking for a shop to work on my 1969 mercedes 280s. I called AGA and they told me that they would take care of me. My car needed a major tune up since it has been running rough. I took it in on wednesday around noon and my car was ready for pick up by the end of the day. I picked it up today and wow what a difference. I wish I would have found AGA a long time ago. Price for the service was reasonable since it does take time to dial in this inline 6 cylinder. It was great to see how much they appreciated working on this vintage car. I have been a constant Mercedes Benz owner since 1984 when I bought my first, a 300 Turbo Diesel that I kept for many years, until a LA Fire Truck took it out one fine day on the I-10 fwy. That car saved my life. Since then I have bought a New Mercedes for my wife and for myself many times over. I currently drive an 2010 S-550 that was being maintained by the folks at Plati's German Auto Service in Pasadena when I was informed that they were closing down their business. He must of saw me blink many times over because he immediately suggested I take my car to Victor at A German Auto on Foothill Blvd. in Pasadena. Many of Plati Motor"s customers have switched to A German Auto because you find the same decades long experience repairing and maintaining the Finest Automobile in the World, Mercedes Benz. I have found great comfort in Victor maintaining my S-550. complete rip-off!! my girlfriend took my GTI to their shop yesterday to get the check engine light of my GTI checked out and told them explicitly not to further work on the car. guess what they did - they replaced the PCV valve to "check if this is the issue". they called her and said they found out what was wrong and fixed it, even though they were told not to work on it. they either wanted to charge us for the whole repair, or just for the labor, if we decided that we didn't want the new part in. they charged a whole 330$ for a new PCV valve! ...just wow eff this place. dishonest! rip off! never again! read more

I appreciate experience. I own a Mercedes Benz E320 that is 20 years old and has 225,000 miles on the car, and it runs like a Swiss Clock. Like a good Doctor, it is important that the patient goes to the same Doctor to note the progress made. In the case of my car the Doctor I go to regularly is A. German Auto Services. There are four Journey Men Technicians with over 90 years experience accumulated. Victor, who is the owner, needs only to hear my car's engine purr to see if any adjustments are needed. I change the oil regularly of which Victor uses Factory Mercedes Benz Oil, only the best. Recently I needed my brakes replaced and repaired. I called and made an appointment and brought my car in. By the time I was half way through with the LA Times my car was ready. As in any business there is always going to be one person who is a naysayer. I read the one negative review and I find it interesting that the author never set foot in my mechanic's shop, sent his girlfriend did he. No way that something was lost is translation? Well, remember that someone actually told this group that they would never make it with a name like the Beatles. Related to the people that still thought the world is flat, and that Madonna should not quit her day job! Point being that this shop has 99% of the people describing the great experience in taking the finest automobile made in the world to A. German Auto Service. We brought our van for oil change service before going on the road trip ...we came out with the bill over $1,000.00 ...they said we need to change the engine Belt Tension and the Pulley..I didn't think about that at the time so I agreed with it ...after settled my bill I asked for the belt that he changed ..turn out the belt was brand new I got it changed at my Dodge Dealer a month ago. You're better off taking your car to the dealer than these scammers. We had the bearings on our car replaced as one side was going out. Within about 3 weeks the issue came back (squeaking sound from one side). They checked it, said something wasn't tightened or whatever and that it was fine. It went away from awhile, then a year later, the car started the same noise, albeit now that repair is out of warranty... read more

my 2002 S430 had an oil leak problem, after spending $445 at A. German, the problem was fixed - temporary. after about a month, the car started to leak again. I called owner Victor, he said he will call me and fix the problem as soon as he's not that busy. Well, two weeks gone by he never called. so I went back to the shop spoke to Victor and demanded he take care of my problem immediately, he said he's short of employees that's why he's backup. He promised he will call in a few days so I can bring the car in and he will fix it right away. another week has gone by and he never called. so I called him and left several messages in the next two weeks and he never returned my call. It's been over two months now, he still hasn't fix my car. I think A. Geman's policy is "get your money and forget you". I will see Victor in small claims court. read more

I returned to this place to get the same problem "fixed" 3 times and the 3rd time (last attempt) was not a charm. Now I feel like an idiot for paying $800 for not even fixing the problem. I go to BMW Phd now, they're soooooo much better than AGA. I now have my BMW issues resolved and couldn't be happier. I always got a "sheisty" vibe from the technicians there; but, all vibes and personal feelings aside, it was really the incompetence that made it easy for me to switch to a different specialist. I was combing through Yelp for another matter when I decided to see what people say about my marvelous automobile technicians, A. German Auto Services. Just as expected, almost all mention how amazing they are, especially the proprietor extraordinaire Victor. My brother and I both bought new Mercedes Benz E350's on the same weekend back in 2006. We both had our vehicles serviced at the dealer where we had purchased them. At the time I was a single mother raising two sons and out of habit I always consult my elder brother before making a major purchase. However, after a year or so I noticed my brother no longer serviced his car at dealer. I asked him about it, thinking he may have gone to another dealer. He informed me that as a result of the amount driving he was doing for work he could no longer afford the time it took him to check his car in for maintenance and wait for a rental at the dealer. A friend of his who also drove a Mercedes told him of his mechanic who was right here in Pasadena who accommodated his own schedule and would have the rental car people on time to pick him up. So my brother decided to try Victor, and my brother has used him ever since. I was little bit hesitant, so it took me a few more years to try A. German Auto. When my car was about 5 years old and the warranty expired, something broke while driving on the Pasadena Freeway. I called the dealer and they told me to have the car brought in, but they could not tell me when they would have it ready. I called my brother and he had Victor call me immediately. Victor calmly, and in that soothing way of his, informed me that though he did not know exactly what the problem was, what ever it may be he was confident I would not be out of my car for no more than two days. He was as good as his word. I came in around 3pm and had my car ready by the same time the next day. Now, I drive no where near the amount of miles my brother does, but I did some investigating, being the bookkeeper that I am. I compared my maintenance and repair bills between my vehicle and that of my brother's for the first 5 years of ownership and found that, even though he had over twice the miles, his expenses for vehicle maintenance where comparable to my dealer serviced car. Since my first experience with Victor, I have had no reason to go back to the dealership and pay they're inflated rates. Today my car is ten years old and has less then 100,000 and I have no reason to buy a new car in the foreseeable future, not when I have and found an extraordinary technician in Victor and his A.
