They truly are angels trying to save life's...and they do a damn good job!!! Last year alone, they saved over 600 dogs from being put down. People need to be more understanding about these dogs. Most have unknown backgrounds and Diana will get a trainer involved to help if issues arise. They're not in the business of Adopt & Refund. read more

This is a phenominal rescue. Really care about the animals in their care. They are very careful about who they let adopt or foster.

I want to preface by saying I had about 5+ people message me about my review saying they received the same treatment from this rescue. Notice how Diane replied some 7 months later, the same speed in which she replies to e-mails. Having a yard versus not having a yard is a moot point in Las Vegas - nobody has yards here unless you're extremely wealthy to afford a spacious home with artificial grass. Even then, the "backyards" are the same size of space you would receive at an apartment complex. Never mind the fact that doggie day cares and dog parks exist, so anyone that doesn't have an actual home can utilize those as well. Basic, common sense. I'm in a position where I can send a dog to day care every single day, as we all know - that costs a pretty penny! And, quite frankly, they exert more energy there than they would in a backyard by themselves. Due to this "rescue," I was forced to seek elsewhere while friends (even my barista) helped me locate a pup off Craigslist. I'm kind of thankful Diane was so rude and dismissive over e-mail chatter, because without her lack of decorum, I would've never found the pup I have today. Take note of how she's suddenly replying to all of these reviews and trying to frontload "good" reviews from friends or other volunteers to drown out all of the accurate reviews that showcase she's a grifter. Honestly, if your heart is set on a rescue, please don't utilize this one and look elsewhere. I started the surrender process and gave them a call. Remind you this is already hard to surrender a family dog, but due to behavioral and financial issues I can no longer keep my dog. Some older lady answered the phone possibly Diane, She made a comment saying " its funny when people have a baby they surrender their dogs." Even when I told her due about the behavioral issues and financial hardship, We could no longer care for our dog. She then said why don't you get a trainer... not listening about our financial hardship and blamed our baby for us giving up our dog when that was not the case. If i could give zero star i would they put in a position that is very stress full and unforgiving. If people cared about animals they would help people like us ,not just sell dogs for a high adoption fee price. read more

Diane was very difficult to deal with and was extremely rude. I also had a large number of linens I thought and might want for the dogs. She thought I wanted to give them to her for her use. WHAT?? TL;DR - STAY AWAY! Disrespectful and disorganized staff essentially acted like the doggie mafia. Let me start by saying that I did not choose this rescue. If I had read the reviews there is no chance I would have gone with them, but alas, my baby found me. It started when a friend of mine responded to one of their Facebook posts as a potential foster. Diana contacted him and without any vetting, paperwork or due diligence dropped the dog off at his house, he said it felt like a drug deal. When I met my dog, Ollie, I knew I had to have him. What I didn't know is that I saved him from a rescue that clearly did not care about him at all. I had Ollie for four months before the rescue ever contacted me. When they did it was Diana's proxy, Nikki, who was very nice at first. When I finally asked about the fee, they wanted $575. I found this to be exorbitant and out of my budget. I decided to call the vets that Ollie had been serviced at to get a quote for how much has been spent on his medical services. I figured that amount plus a little extra would be fair considering they didn't have to place him and I'd already had him for five months at that point, so that's what I suggested. Also Nikki said they usually adopt puppies that have had three rounds of shots and Ollie only had one round so I had to pay out of pocket for the next two rounds which cost around $100. That's when their true colors began to show. Nikki was dishonest about the amount that was spent on him and when I tried to confirm the amount so based on the quotes I got, things turned ugly. Mind you, throughout our dialogue I was calm, respectful and appreciative of Nikki's help. She reminded me several times that she was "only a volunteer" and Diana was the voice behind her disrespectful demeanor. Nikki, it costs nothing to be nice to people and it will get you much further than blindly following a tyrant. "$350 or give the dog back," she wrote to me. The notion that a dog rescue whose mission is to "find loving homes for pets" would rip a puppy from the only home he's ever known in favor of what appears to be turning a profit is asinine to me. At no point in our conversation did I ever say I wouldn't pay the fee. I'm glad to pay whatever fee is fair but I'm not okay with being shaken down and blatantly lied to. I paid the fee online. When I told Nikki I wouldn't be able to attend the adoption event to formally adopt Ollie (in part because I don't have a car but also because I don't ever want to see people who treat me so poorly in person) she suggested I find a ride or take an Uber. After being shaken down by the doggy mafia, I don't have any extra money for an Uber. All of a sudden they were able to process my adoption through the mail. I am honestly so shocked at how rude Nikki was and she claimed it was by way of Diana. Not once but twice she threatened to take my dog away, a dog that I've had since he was a puppy and provided a loving home for for months before ever hearing a word from them. At no point did they ask about the well-being of the dog. It's clear from the other reviews that they don't care. Not only that, I found out that Ollie was neutered about three months prior to the recommended six months of age for neutering at Diana's request. I'm just glad that I was able to come up with the money or else he may have been euthanized like some of the other dogs I've read about in these reviews. Fast forward to after I paid the fee. I paid my fee in April and texted and emailed multiple times to get the paperwork settled. They assured me the paperwork was in the mail and that they couldn't complete the paperwork digitally. Fine, I waited, and never received anything. I asked about it again via email and didn't hear back so I threatened to dispute the charges unless they completed the adoption. Crickets. So I disputed the charge! I'm sure you can imagine how quickly they got back to me and magically they had the digital paperwork for me and it was completed within two days. Funny how their tune changed when their money was taken away. Thankfully I have my baby and he never has to deal with those mean humans again. You've been warned! Give your money to a charity that actually cares about animals and about human decency. If they had just been NICE, despite all the other issues, I would have never taken the time to write this. Being nice is free and easy. Best of luck to you, you're going to need it if you keep acting like this. read more

How about 500 stars?!? If I could I would! - what words do I use? There's not enough to be said about the selfless people involved in this organization. My first encounter was about a year ago, I was trying to help two homeless dogs abandoned, because their owner had died. Wonderful! ... without getting all crazy, I have to say they performed immaculately. I have nothing but the highest praise. Recently I found myself in the hospital - it was totally unexpected. Nikki and Jennifer came to the rescue and gave Homie (my pup) a wonderful temporary place to live. Homie is a special dog, at 11 yrs he's gone from being "the Iife of the party" to "a very mellow fellow" He's got some health issues- so I was so relieved when Nikki knew exactly what I was talking about, when I described his regimen ( pills, etc) AND Jennifer ... well I can say, her picture should be in the dictionary under the definition of "angel" Homie has Cushings disease/Diabetes/cataracts and a bum leg. That translates to a lot of care in attention. He needs two pills every day to keep his adrenal gland under control (Cushings disease) he needs two daily insulin injections (with meals) plus a daily blood monitoring (that gets recorded and reported to the vet during what have been WEEKLY visits. I DID mention that Jennifer is a Angel...right? She even brought my Lil HomeSlice to see me in the hospital. AWESOME! ...AND that Homies a special kinda dog! read more

Yes there are fees to adopt your future pet- how else can this organization continue to save and take care of these animals?? It's common sense- if you don't have a few hundred bucks to cover the adoption fee you probably can't afford to take care of the pet long term. Wow. I got a rude response from Diana. My family and I have been looking for a dog and submitted an application on a fb post from Saturday 1/19 at 4pm that stated 2 dogs would be available in the next few weeks. I followed their instructions per their website and submitted an application and sent an email prior to 7am on Sunday 1/20. Diana sent an email back on Monday 1/21 that both dogs had been adopted yesterday, 1/20. I replied back saying that I understood but wanted to know the process was so that I would know going forward. Her response was "No." I really hadn't let my hopes get up since I've been let down so many times before but I was appalled at the lack of empathy from a local non-profit that "services" the needy pets in Las Vegas. read more

I am beyond grateful for this organization! I recently adopted a 10 year old dog from Diana at A Home 4 Spot. Sylvester (formerly Mony), was rescued from a local shelter, because he was set to be euthanized for "fear-biting". I am so grateful that they took a chance on him, and enabled me to give him a second chance at life. Diana was very easy to work with when it came to the adoption process. Sylvester's amazing foster mom Kim was wonderful as well. They worked around my schedule, and even met with us on a Sunday. AH4S is an amazing rescue! I've been involved with them for a little over a year now. Volunteering at a local shelter, I, firsthand, get to see rescues come in to pull dogs from us. AH4S has pulled SO many medical cases without even a second thought about the expense it was going to cause. Other rescues sometimes will shy away from pulling the medical ones. I've also been able to foster dogs that should have been put down because they were terrified and nipped a person. If AH4S didn't step in and allow me to foster, those misunderstood babies might not have had a chance at a great life! I see the negative comments on here and I'm very saddened by them. I wish people would understand that Diane gets bombarded with texts, calls, emails, etc and she does not have time to get to all of them. It was the year of the lockdown. In october 1st 2020 i left my 4 pit bull dogs with a friend of a friend in Phoenix while i traveled to Vegas in a work related trip to explore a job transfer. It would save me big bucks compared to a Petco Hotel and their yard looked pretty safe to me. 3 weeks later when i went back to Phoenix i found out all 4 dogs "escaped" to the street and were lost. They had tried to reach me but they couldn't. I called the Maricopa County Animal Control center and was told all 4 dogs were found on the street on october 3rd and surrended to the shelter and all 4 were given out for adoption to a single lady on october 23rd. I got back to Phoenix on october 24 and on that same day i contacted that shelter. I tried to bypass their confidentiality rules on the adopting lady but all they told me was that "it's a woman that runs a Phoenix small shelter with help of her husband and adopts dogs from Phoenix to ship them north to Las Vegas' larger dog shelters where they are put up for adoption". They would not give me her name or phone number. So i began my search on all Las Vegas dog rescue shelters to see if i found a picture of any of my 4 dogs. I did. MaryLou was up for adoption at a dog shelter called "A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue". I called them and there was no answer. I flew right away to Las Vegas on a sunday and finally one of my calls got answered. Her name was Diana England, she said. I told her i was MaryLou owner for more than a decade and i had her since she was 3 months old in Phoenix. I sent her several pictures of MaryLou growing up in my house in Phoenix. Her answer: "That dog belongs to me now and if you want it back you would need to apply as everybody else and follow our adoption process, including paying the required $fee. And at the end there's no guarantee you will be chosen as the adopter. All will depend on the overall applicants' qualifications". I told her money was not and issue and that i would even double the adopting $fee as a favor for taking care of my MaryLou. I told her i knew, by her rescue fb page that MaryLou would be shown for adoption that day at Petco on Lake Mead and Rancho and i would be going there to see her (it was 1PM, they close the event each weekend at 3PM). Her answer: "You can go of course, but there is no way i'm going to give her to you, don't even dream of that". Her answer sent chills to my spine, but i decided to stay optimistic thinking that perhaps that woman behaved that way with any dog that fall on her hands, extremelly protective or extremelly suspicious of former owners reasons for loosing his dogs. I was renting a house and i was shopping for a home with the help of a Las Vegas real state agent since the job transfer at Cox went smoothly and i was already settled in Vegas, a couple years short of retirement. She said she would not give me MaryLou back because my lease did not include an adendum about pets her size and her breed. One day she simply called me and said: "I'm sorry, i decided to give MaryLou in adoption to a friend of mine who is a foster at my Rescue and who has been fostering MaryLou for a few weeks now, she wants to keep her". I wanted to sue her @ss fast and right there and then but i restrained myself and kept it cool, as cool as i was able to. I need to mention since our very first call she never accepted MaryLou was mine, she insisted i was mistaken and that MaryLou came to her "via a Rescue Shelter in Page, Arizona". I told her i didn't care where she might have gotten MaryLou from, she was my dog and i wanted her back, specially because money was not an issue. She refused to give her back to me and gave her to an stranger. My hate towards that woman grew exponentially. My only explanation towards her attitude was racism. I am Latino so i concluded she might be a racist anglosaxon who hates Hispanics and that could be the reason. I eventually found my other dogs, 2 in Page, Arizona and 1 in another Las Vegas Rescue Shelter (A path 4 paws). The lady owner of A path 4 paws as soon as she knew Tobias was mine she told me to go to his shelter and pick him up without paying any $fee. Now thats the ethical way to run a non-profit. I admire her so much. On march 2021 Diane England called me and said MaryLou had killed one of the other dogs living in her new home and the owner returned her back to her and that i could go pick her up anytime i wanted. Of course, after killing a dog she could not give MaryLou up for adoption again without risking her killing a small child and facing criminal charges herself. So i have MaryLou and my other 3 dogs with me now, in our 9K sq ft property i bought on cash on march 2021. We go for daily walks to the parks in the afternoons. They're getting older, 13 an 12 year old now. I love them and they love me. And i still hate Diane England with all my gut and hope God sents her a very lenghty and painful death, she's a horrible, horrible person. She is white outside but dark inside. read more

Highly recommend AH4S! I adopted my little angel Odie in July of 2020 and he has been the best little guy ever. During the week I was trial fostering to adopt him, he was a little sickly. Very underweight and had a cough. AH4S covered all the vet costs and kept in constant contact with me to check on him. His foster mom Crystal is the absolute best and sweetest, so caring and still asks about the little guy to this day. AH4S made the whole process very easy. I was told of a medical concern (mange) that she had one remaining dose of medication for (which was provided). Horrible people run this rescue. I wanted to adopt a dog from them. I went to an adoption event. They were incredibly mean to me and everyone else that went to that event. First they told me it was going to be $300 to adopt a senior dog. I was willing to do it until I heard them say to another person that most of their dogs bite. And then as I was leaving I heard them yell at this older lady that was just trying to adopt a dog as well. I went to the Animal Foundation the next day. A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue is a volunteer based organization, whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs in Southern Nevada. A Home 4 Spot began operations in March 2009 and have been operating as a Nonprofit 501c (3) animal rescue in perpetual good standing since February 15, 2011. Since 2009, we have saved over 6,000 dogs lives that would have otherwise been euthanized. In the last year alone they have provided approximately $180,000 in medical care from neglect, abuse, injuries, necessary surgeries as well as dental health. All their dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption. They also provide rehabilitation services from injuries and surgeries for abused and neglected dogs while they wait for their adoptive family. A Home 4 Spot has a strong foster force that opens their hearts and homes to their dogs in need, and they work together with their volunteers to transport to veterinary appointments and our adoption events. In 2014, we opened our nonprofit thrift store, Dog Junkies, where we accept gently used donated items at reduced prices to the public. All proceeds generated at Dog Junkies benefit our dogs with medical needs. Place is a joke! Messaged Diana and I inquired about several dogs and there availability. Was told to go online fill out an app and go to the location to see the dogs. Come to find out two were adopted and the other ones weren't at the location! . When I told her about this she became rude and arrogant. Money hungry group if you ask me! It's obvious they have zero customer service, zero respect for people asking about the pets so they can go to homes, and the list goes on. AH4S is amazing and wonderful organization that introduced me to the love of my life: my furbaby! Not only are we an incredibly happy home now finally but my depression and anxiety is lifted a ton. Diane and her volunteers care deeply for these animals. Oh and for some the folks complaining that the volunteers at Home 4 Spot are "rude"....chill out and take a step back and check your perspective. People have really bad days sometimes. Even more so at non profit organizations. And ones that relate to defenseless helpless animals can be even more heart wrenching. I used to volunteer at a shelter and the BS we dealt with from the human race was nauseating. And I'm not talking about just those who abuse and /or abandon these poor animals but even the A-holes who adopt and do some awfulness as well. ( KARMA, folks!.). . Volunteering at an organization like this is rewarding yeah but it can be brutal AF. ( Oh wanna become a misanthrope like myself? Volunteer at an animal shelter or rescue. ). But I digress..... Anyway, the process was super simple and fast. Diane was super accommodating and even came to my place to do my paperwork to save me cash in Ubers. Horribly rude !!l Read all reviews!! AH4S responded to a woman who inquired on Facebookabout a $450 adoption fee with good intentions and their response got extremely rude. They called the woman ignorant, said they didn't want her to adopt from them if they couldn't afford their $450 fee and to MOVE ON!. When I replied that she was only inquiring and she shouldn't be shamed, they all attacked me stating that I was uninformed, and didn't know who I was dealing with! I was shocked as they continued to berate, my response was that kindness was important especially as representatives of a rescue organization. Then they continued to berate me even more with terrible comments, and afterwards deleted them. Although I wish all the puppies loving homes. They need to work on their customer service and the way they treat people, I have never seen such rudeness and arrogance, shaming and berating potential adopters is not any way to run a caring rescue organization!! There are lots of other caring animal rescue organizations whose volunteers and representatives treat people with dignity and respect!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I emailed a lady named Diana asking about a 3 month old puppy and she declined me cause I didn't have other dogs. She said this pup had been around other dogs her "whole life" well of course a puppy of that age has been around other dogs. She then said if she went through the people before me first and didn't find the perfect match then she would consider. I don't mind getting declined about the puppy but the way she went about it was completely wrong. If you work for a non profit organization you should show more compassion in your job. She didn't even apologize or thank me for showing interest even though I have a brand new house and a brand new backyard that I designed specifically for a dog. read more

A home for spot saves animals that are going to be euthanized and gives them a chance to heal and have a loving home. Yes, there are rules that they have in place if you want to foster or adopt. They saved my little chiuahua. I fostered her and Diane was always available. If you are trying to adopt, please be patient as the volunteers are helping the dogs and foster families along with transporting, setting up medical appointments and saving more animals. They have weekly events at petsmart in best of the west shopping center. read more

Although I had a negative experience with this organization, I understand what they do and thank them for it. Please adopt from them or help them in any way possible. This negative review reflects my experience only. That said, I hope Diana changes her bad attitude, not good for the welfare of the doggies. Adopt, don't shop! :-) I adopted a dog 3 weeks ago from them. My husband was away. He came home, a few days later had allergies. Later realized, it was not due to the doggie. I commented the allergy issue to the former foster mom of the dog. Said she would hold the dog a week or 2 until my husband gets better. I inquired about my dog during that week a few times. After 1 week, I wanted my doggie back, they refused. Foster mom gave me Diana's #, I texted her 2 times, 2 separate days. She was extremely Rude the only time she replied. I took dog the to vet($105), got her meds, a car seat, good food, and all the necessities. And after all, I felt like I was treated like a criminal. Even if you are not going to give the dog back, at least be professional. I gave this organization $220 for adoption. A bit of respect and compassion never killed anyone. Diana is so unprofessional. I was blindsided and disrespected. I'm so heartbroken. All I wanted was to give this dog a forever home. Check out the pics of the texts. read more

Love how 4 months later Diane I believe is her name decided to reply about their ridiculous policy. Hence why your ratings are so low.. They want to see how the dogs will "react" for God's sake the puppies are like children! Of course they are going to run around and play. For anyone wanting to adopt please read up on how many unfortunate stories have happened because of these types of facilities "want to see how people interact with the dogs" ANYONE AND I MEAN ANYONE can pretend. Just love how they PRETEND to be doing the best yet most of these poor animals end up being abused.. read more
