Hired David for an inspection and he couldn't inspect the crawl space because he couldn't get down there. He relied on me to talk to the termite inspectors . Also, he couldn't get into the attic that was modified with flooring, etc. because he didn't want to climb the existing ladder. He flagged items that he wasn't even sure about and we had to get additional inspections because of it. I thought I would save money because he had good reviews and I thought I would still get a good inspection. I was wrong, not only was it not a thorough inspection, it caused us a lot of problems and delays because of the false items he flagged. When we sold the house a few years later, the major issues that he didn't flag showed up and caused us even more problems. I had this inspection done for my brand new home around July 2020. Contrary to the norm, I wanted a thorough inspection simply to detect any subtle construction defects that only a professional could do. But I was extremely disappointed. My reasons for giving one star: 1. David did NOT find any construction defect that I found a hard way on the very first day of closing, simply by diligent observation. TWO DEFECTS: (1) Squeaky Floors all over, and (2) The Cement Caulking & the Rust on the front porch. 2. Received ZERO return on my investment. 3. Incomplete job-- agreed that the PGE had failed to connect the Gas/Electricity on the day of the inspection, but David refused to complete the electrical/gas inspection w/o an additional charge. He charged full, for a new house with half of his time/effort. 4. David was biased more by his subjective opinion about the builder that they are a good builder, to minimize his efforts. He instead created a cookie-cutter kind of inspection report which is worthless for me. A+ Home Inspection Serve is David Hiser. His company is not populated with workers who inspect homes for wages. That is a GOOD thing! David personally inspects homes, usually during real estate transfers, and provides an expert opinion on the condition of the dwelling. David is very thorough and spots problems or situations in the home that most people would overlook. Beyond that, David is a very friendly guy who loves what he does, and it shows. His reports are easy to understand and he provides actionable recommendations. If you are a Realtor or planning on buying or selling, Dave is your man. read more

First, at the most basic level, the report we commissioned was riddled with so many language errors as to seriously diminish its credibility. This was especially ironic, even comical, given the name of the company (A+/A plus, with the logo suggestive of a hand-written grade given by a teacher to a student). Second, heavy use of the first person ("I," as in "I highly recommend," etc.) is inappropriate for this type of report. Third, most troubling, as another reviewer previously mentioned, this inspector is physically unable to lower, lift and squeeze his way into the nooks and crannies that a home inspector must go (crawl spaces and narrow attics, for example), in order to adequately discharge his duties. If home inspection is not a young person's endeavor, it is at least the endeavor of someone who is physically fit and sufficiently svelte/trim to fit into all the tight spaces that a home inspector must go. How it is that so many reviewers have overlooked these realities is quite curious but it deserves to be brought to the attention of consumers before they make their investment in something as important as a home inspection. At a personal level, Mr. Hiser is a decent enough fellow but his inspection report is deserving of no more than a C-/C minus. Attention, entrepreneurially minded people with interest and expertise in this type of work: There is a glaring need for a high-quality, objective home inspection service (one that does not itself do corrective work), especially if the inspector can also be licensed to perform "termite" inspections.
