Avoid the company 1. Company promised walkthrough after inspection, but inspector finished and left an hour early. Said the company never informed them that there was supposed to be a walkthrough 2. Got thermal scanning, had random pictures. Had to repeatedly ask for report. Got some random pictures in a PDF with no explanation. Better buy your own device 3. Spending 1 hour in the house was able to cover more issues than the inspection could. Avoiding details here. 4. Company is good at communication and scheduling, but difficult to actually get hold of inspectors. read more

EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE, Dave the owner is VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. HORRENDOUS, TOTALLY HORRENDOUS experience. I would absolutely not recommend anyone to have their homes inspected by this company! I paid $440 (which is not cheaper than any other home inspection companies) for having such an awful, unthorough service, unprofessional attitude from the owner and sloppy report. My realtor chose this company to inspect a townhouse I was going to purchase. At the time I did not have time to shop around and just trusted him. I had Matt came to my town house to perform the inspection. I had seller's inspection report and I used that as a reference. I pointed to Matt some issues mentioned in the report, to make sure they are not an issue anymore. He said he couldn't find the spots/locations of the items shown in the pictures in the report . Finally, I found the spots and showed to him! At the end, Matt said he could not find any problems in the house. He walked me through and showed very trivial stuff such as the plants need to be trimmed, basically, unimportant stuff. A few days later I came to the house and I found water dripping from the kitchen sink. It was a slow and small drip, which made it not noticeable right away, but as soon as I turned on the water in the sink, the water drip did not take more than 2 minutes to happen. The water were not visible right away on a glossy cabinet surface. I found it by lifting up the PVC hose that lie on the base cabinet. I called Wall 2 Wall, then spoke with Dave. He insisted the water drip did not happen when Matt inspected the house. He emailed me the picture, and actually I could see the small water droplet on the picture, right underneath the black rubber hose. He was acting very defensive, exaggerating that they would not let water running for 30 minutes in order to find out there was a leak. When I mentioned that Matt did not do a good job, Dave raised his voice and acted very defensive again, saying Matt did a Great Job. Matt could be his brother, however, I found him to be super rude to the lady customer such as to myself. Then he asked me, raising his tone again, "WHAT do you want from me??!!". He then mentioned the water issue was just regular maintenance thing. I agreed that was part of the maintenance, and that's why I hired a property inspection company to inspect potential issues and everything that are due to be replaced by the seller!! When I mentioned about putting a bucket underneath the sink will make the water dripped noticeable right away, he said, "We would not carry bucket, that's not our standard. We only do VISUAL INSPECTION. If we turned on the heater and the heater does not work, we would not inspect further why the heater does not work." (Well, you know my 2 year old nephew can also turn on the heater). Then I replied to him, "So did you mean anybody who is not visually impaired can perform home inspection? What is the point for us hiring a Property Inspections company such as yours???" He raised his voice again, "We did not call you, you called us!". Wow, wow.. I was appalled by his super rude, condescending response. Totally not worth my time, energy and money to deal with such a rude person like Dave. First off, I hired wall to wall to do an inspection on my dad's house who recently passed away. We wanted to get a good estimate on what needed to be done. Granted the house was built in the 40s. So I ordered the full inspection package. Nick Arrived on time, introduced himself and started with an outside assessment. Then inside the house and under the house. He found a bunch of debris under the house and a leak that I did not know about. All in all other than maintenance issues I think it was a pretty good inspection. Dave did The thermal imaging. He showed me where there was no insulation which was pretty much most of the house and were there are some moisture issues. Rob and Justin did the termite inspection and were quick and through. They poked and prodded and showed me the problem areas Alan and Brett inspected the roof and told me where the issues are. All in all, wall-to-wall was a good investment. I guess I could've got a few of the estimates on my own if I had wanted to manage them. They did mess a few critical things but I now have a good picture on what needs to be done and that is basically what you're looking for an inspection company. Not someone that tells you what you want to hear, somebody that will give you an honest evaluation. That's what I hired them for and that's what I got. I have to say that they did a wonderful job with the inspection! seeing as how it is a cabin and it's 2850 square feet it took a WHILE to get through it. it was about 4 1/2 hours that he was there and working all the time. He found flaws that i wouldn't have noticed until years later--when it would have been too late for a quick fix. My partner and I scheduled a pest inspection with Wall 2 Wall and a Yecencia kept asking me via email what my "client's contact was" after I repeatedly told her I was the client. I asked for a specific date and time and after going back and forth numerous times (I should have stopped dealing with them after I realized she either can't read or was too bothered to read my email in its entirety) she incorrectly scheduled the time. When I canceled she corrected it so I left it. The inspector never showed up despite my emailing her asking where the person was. She wasted my partner's, my agent, and my time. We've had Wall 2 Wall doing inspections for our listings a couple of times, but we never know they can do more than just home and termite inspection. Recently, we need someone to do just radiant heat inspection and luckily we bump into Dave at a convention. We've told him that we have done the home, termite and roof inspection but we only need someone to do the radiant heat inspection. Dave was so kind that he was able to come by the next day and show me how simple it is that they can do the radiant heat inspection with their Thermal imaging gadget. Dave was quick, explained a lot of things about radiant heat to me and report available the next day. It's good to know we can count on someone when we need them. We are first time home buyer and he did an extremely thorough job of investigating all the areas of the house and all with a great attitude. Thank goodness we found him on Yelp! He arrived right on time and it took about 2+ hours for a single family home and he looked at the foundation, roofing, structure, electrical, heating, plumbing and interior. This included going down under the house and took numerous photos of problem spots. At the end of the inspection, he sat down and walked through all his photos/findings with us and made sure to address any questions that we had. Got an updated written estimate / work authorization after my inspections were done. CalPro showed up to do the work unprepared and unprofessional. They did terrible work - leaving my stair railing un-secured after they left and used a broken bolt on my step, hoping I wouldn't notice. When they sent me the invoice after the work was done it was $500 more than the signed work order I had agreed to. I reached out to the owner, Andrea, to discuss via email and asked for a return call. I was totally blown off. I will NEVER do business with CalPro again. I've referred dozens of friends and clients to them in the past. What a mistake. If you're looking for integrity and honesty - go elsewhere. read more

FYI... my client was irate that he got a cold call from an alarm company that said that they got his information from a property inspection that they ordered. This was the first (and last) time I will use Wall2Wall. I've also subsequently shared this experience with all 300 real estate agents in my brokerage. I brought it up to Wall to Wall's attention first before writing this review and was their response: I checked into things. Part of our service agreement (#15) states that the client maybe contacted by Residential Warranty Services, a third party, to offer services like Mold guard, Roof guard, and it does state for security alarm systems. I also checked and your client signed the agreement. I know this doesn't help after the fact, but we have also followed up with the office staff to make sure that part of the agreement is made clear to callers. read more

Ordered buyer inspection from Wall inspections based on 'good' Yelp reviews in January. A young guy Brett came on time. The inspection went quick around one hour. He did answer a couple of my questions politely. When I got the report, I was VERY disappointed. It's VERY amateur. It looks almost same as my agent's visual inspection report. Full of comments like "Everything seems work fine" without any explanation on why. It didn't have inspection on foundation structure, didn't catch leaking issues, sink issues. The landlord has known about the black mold for a year. His solution was to email me a totally bogus 'mold disclosure' form that would be used if I was purchasing this dump. It suggests the buyer get an additional inspection done w their own money as theres is not extensive...lol. Clowns. 8 years ive been here and the clowns want to put lipstick on a pig so theyre vacatin me. And getting 1k more a month. Ordered a buyer inspection for a 22-year old townhouse based on Yelp reviews. Happy to report that Kurt Campbell was as advertised and better! Scheduling was a breeze; office was accommodating to my short-term request for a specific time slot based on the prior homeowner's availability restrictions. Inspector arrived on time (actually, a few minutes early) - professional image, very friendly, took the time to listen to what's important to me during the inspection, and welcoming to my request to "breathe down his neck" and look over his shoulder throughout the process. I had a few DIY projects in mind so I asked plenty of questions to learn as much as I could, especially about what might be hidden inside walls and where to expect ducts, waste water drains, or supply water line plumbing. I really appreciated that he didn't just produce a standardized pre-canned report - everything was explained to me and he provided helpful guidance as to what's relevant and what's not, what is a safety issue and what's just cosmetic. Obviously, I won't know if he overlooked something until I have lived in the place for a few months but so far, so good - couldn't be happier with Wall Inspections and Kurt Campbell! read more

After recently purchasing a house, in preparation for a remodel I made an appointment with Kurt from Wall Inspections to use thermal imaging to qualify the exterior wall insulation, as well as the sewer lines living in the slab. These were areas of prime concern to me, as I already had notes from an earlier inspection provided by the seller. Kurt arrived promptly, and informed me that as a result of the apparent failure of the house radiant heating system (it was not providing any heat), that the thermal imaging of the exterior walls to measure heat loss would be challenging. While we waited for the sun to rise high enough to hit the home (providing another heat source to scan the exterior walls), Kurt went ahead and provided a general assessment of the home, noting several problem areas of which I was not already aware (not noted in the earlier inspection). Finally, when the sun made it possible, Kurt scanned the walls with the infrared camera (he showed and explained to me all of the different camera readings found around the house). Although Kurt did use the camera to provide thermal imaging of the drains, he recommended that for the plumbing in the slab I have a visual line inspection provided by a plumber. Given the lack of internal heat made the process more challenging, Kurt found ways to provide value to his visit. He was flexible, patient, professional, and in the end provided useful information that helped me prioritize what projects needed more immediate attention versus those that could wait awhile. Overall, I had a positive experience with Kurt and would recommend his services for your home inspection needs. read more

Update: Kurt had promised to use thermal imaging after the first rain of the season to detect roof leaks. After the last storm Kurt contacted me to set up an appointment. Using infra-red detection Kurt was able to pinpoint a wet spot in the ceiling that I had been unaware of. Turns out this corresponded directly to a poorly sealed roof penetration. This allowed an easy caulk job which will prevent a more expensive repair if I'd let the problem continue. The thermal imaging also proved that the window caulking Kurt recommended earlier had been successful in preventing further moisture ingress around the window frames. read more

For purchasing a house in Newark, I took help from David for home inspection, thermal imaging and mold inspection. David is very educated in all aspects of inspection and regularly updates himself. He got the right equipments for mold sample collection, thermal imaging, and even a bot for inspecting every part of the crawl space! Besides finding out some major observations that went into the report, what I liked most was David's ability to explain small things for a home owner, like: Caulking the open area between walls everywhere, Cut the wood close to concrete, so water does not rise up - 1/8th of an inch, Keep the tree a feet away so it does not block the gutter, Downspouts must point water away from home etc. These do not necessarily go into inspection report, however are very valuable to maintain a home.
