They have been independently and family-owned for over 40 years, and they are a must-stop for all book and music lovers out there. This store is HUGE with over half-a-million books, movies, music and memorabilia. However, I think what makes them extra special is the curated selection of Horror and Thriller books, including some very unique collectibles. I am more into contemporary, so keep in mind those books are located on the top floor of their second building. Their children's book section was also incredible but frankly I didn't have the patience to go through them. This store can be a little overwhelming so definitely take a breath and ask for help if you can't find the genre you are looking for.

Friends of the Keller Library is actually a nonprofit that benefits the local library. Most of the books they sell were donated by people or other stores, and all the profits from the sales go back to supporting the library next door. I've been to other similar stores around the state and was pleasantly surprised at how organized this one is. The volunteers working there were also very friendly and helpful. I also like that they had a station with complimentary coffee for customers. They didn't have the largest selection of books, but the children's section was really nice so I would definitely recommend this place for families. Last but not least, they also had free magazines towards the back of the store which I thought would be great for school projects or vision boards.

Personally I prefer fantasy/fiction books and that specific selection was much smaller compared to other stores, however they had some of the most popular titles. Besides books, they have a nice selection of stationary items, puzzles and other games. They definitely had some very unique finds I hadn't seen anywhere else. Last but not least, they do have a rewards program and for every $100 you spend you get credit to your next purchase which I thought was pretty nice and a good incentive to support local businesses. Their greeting card selection is really cute. The friendly staff is always ready to help me find a book or offer a reading suggestion. If you haven't been in the past few years, B&N started a loyalty program in 2023 to make its prices more competitive. For free, you can earn "stamps" that result in discounts (currently $5 off for every 10 stamps earned), and for a reasonable yearly fee you can upgrade to be a Premium member and earn 10% off everything every day. As an avid reader with a family of readers, it is totally worth it, and (do the math!) usually cheaper than competitors (*always* cheaper when I'm reading more obscure stuff). If you enjoy earning free stamps, it is worth signing up for the B&N newsletter to keep an eye out for double/triple points days. They always have deals on bestsellers and daily BOGO 50% tables, so you have a new selection of deals to hunt through each time you visit.

I've been here countless times -- my whole family used to visit after dinner at CiCi's Pizza (which was next door, once upon a time). I don't know why but it's extra fun to end your day at a bookstore, when it's dark outside.
