She pretty much bleached my whole head except for about 2 inches of my roots. I paid money to look like I dyed my hair blonde 6 months ago and now it's growing out. It's pretty patchy too. After a couple days I had finally cried enough over my hair that I decided to contact the stylist and see if there was anything she could do about the horrible red tones. I was a walk-in and the owner, Lori, was available. I finally got a haircut from a real pro and it was great. When I needed to get the purple dye out of my hair she was very careful to bleach it and on the second round of bleach she added some darker blonde tones so it wasn't so stark white. It came out beautiful and hair was still healthy so I could dye it back to my own color after a week. I have seen Lori ever since and I'm always happy with the results. Unfortunately, due to a medical condition, my MD told me it would not be a good idea for my scalp and may cause worsening problems. Keep in mind the product never left the salon. I called before the install date and explained that my doctor does not recommend this for me. The owner would not get on the phone to discuss the cancellation. She left all the discussion up to the receptionist, who had no clue what to do or say to me. The salon refused to send the extensions back to the manufacturer and insisted that I pay for the entire product. They tried to tell me that it was a special order. When, in fact, the order was out of the online catalog. They took $1000 from me and refused to refund my money. Now I am stuck with $1000 hair extensions that I can never use. The Salon did not demonstrate basic empathy or flexibility toward my medical situation. I will be contacting the state board of cosmetology as well as the state attorney general/consumer office to fight this wrong. For these reasons, I do not recommend this salon. They only want your money and don't really care about your situation or self-esteem. I am sorry to leave my stylist; she was wonderful.

On Saturday, March 20, 2021 I went to the salon and the woman inside the shop did not ask as to why I am standing outside. Called again and spoke with Patricia in which she asked for my phone number. Received a text from Patricia today, March 22, 2021 asking me to text my name, email and time I would like to come in in which I did. I sent text telling Patricia what hair services I wanted and asked about the cost. Patricia told me that when my hair appointment is scheduled, the system will send a notification which will include cost estimate. She also stated that she cannot do a phone quote on what she doesn't know what she is looking at. I asked Patricia if I come in at 6:00 a.m. will she be finished by 10:00 a.m. as I had an appointment in North Raleigh. She stated yes. I also asked her does she have a cool setting on the blow dryer. Patricia told me "I'm a professional of over 30 years. I don't usually do all this ask and forth texting. I will see you for your appointment where we can discuss your service." I responded to Patricia by stating that "I'm sure you are a professional woman with years of experience. However, I called the shop twice. I also left a voice message that I did not get a response. On Saturday, I went to the shop and called again. That's when you answered the phone. I suggest you take tips on how to be more professional." Patricia then responded back by saying "You know I was coming in on my day off to accommodate you tomorrow. But I think a stylist that is less busy would be a better fit for you. Good luck in your search." From looking at the three reviews from 2017 and 2018, I see why business at this hair salon is very slow. No customers since 2018? Word of advice to Patricia at Your Time Hair Care Salon. Unless you a celebrity stylist, your business is customer-based, you will be more successful if you learn professional etiquette in dealing with potential new customers. I suggest you you learn from this experience because negative word of mouth can be detrimental to your business.

I struggle with masks as I have asthma and I feel like I am suffocating while wearing one. I asked my stylist why we had to wear masks when just about every other business was wide open and mask-free. I was told "to make our customers FEEL safe." Personally, I found the mask wearing extremely uncomfortable. That being said, I typically would joke around my stylist but the mask wearing made me more of a quiet person. She asked me if all was ok, to which I replied yes...All is cool, but the mask made me feel like I was suffocating. After about the 6th haircut since reopening. I was told by the stylist (who is also general manager) not to worry about paying and took me outside to discuss how she felt uncomfortable that I was less talkative and what we're going to do about it. I sternly told her to just cancel all my future appointments (I was scheduled for every three weeks for years down the road). I was so pissed that now I needed to worry about her feelings, when she needed to simply cut my hair....That's it. So, this is how I was treated when she had cut my hair for so long. Believe me, she is obviously a liberal mind set and here she was telling me how to act to make her comfortable with me. The whole place is a liberal bastion...The owner is also very liberal. This business is a liberal shit hole. And on top of that, my stylist was not very good and very inconsistent....Often I would ask her to fix something that was wrong with my cut and it was very expensive for a men's haircut. I would not recommend this place, at all, to anyone. I now get my hair cut at a Great Clips down the road from my house for half the price and the lady that I always get is very good and very consistent. So I got on the internet, did some research and decided to take a chance on Clayton Hair Salon. The things that I liked about it was that it wasn't like some of the other Clayton Salons that are "tragically hip" and you pay for the atmosphere, and also it didn't seem to cater towards small kids or teens. All I want is a great haircut for a fair price. And I am so pleased that I found it! I must also say that one of the reasons I chose Clayton Hair Salon is I saw on the website that their Manicurist is Becky Gordon, and she had done my nails at another place a few years ago and she is AMAZING. So that settled it, I called and made my hair appointment. Kristty was everything I was hoping for and more! Her shop is in an adorable old historic-style home in Clayton's beautiful little downtown area, and there is plenty of parking available. She took me on a tour and every room was done very professionally. She offered me a drink but I had brought one in. She was easy to talk to and understood exactly what my hair needs were and she gave me some great advice that I'm still using today. I even called her back a couple of days after my appointment to tell her how happy I am with my cut. I'm looking forward to going back and seeing Kristty again!
