Just a quick visit before a volleyball game. Got Jalapeño Popper app, Crunch roll, Phoenix roll, 911 roll. All came out quickly. Excellent rolls. Loved their unique on table mix of jalapeño/onion marinated in a sweeter marinade. Also table ginger was very good. Still as mentioned, gotta pay to play. $64 dollars with tip for four items. Still nice place and will be back.

The service is usually always on point, the food is phenomenal, and we always strive to try new items. There have been a couple times where the jalapeño poppers were on the smaller side but when they're done right, boy oh boy! This trip my daughter was with us and she got the chicken teriyaki bento box, always a hit. It comes with a lot of food for $10- rice, chicken, an egg roll, 2 dumplings, and this yummy sauce in the middle. My favorite would have to be the egg roll! My husband ordered the sushi pizza and this is now going to be a staple when we come. It has such a good crunch when you bite into it, the flavors are oozing goodness, and it is big enough to share for an appetizer too! I ordered the seaweed salad, the Philadelphia roll, and of course the jalapeño poppers. This was my first time trying to seaweed salad and even my husband commented how creamy yet satisfying it was! The Philadelphia roll is a classic, no complaints. It's getting busy here so make sure you get in before the rush to save on wait time! You won't regret it.

See my picture of the extra dressing left over in the bowl. The bao buns were both good. The chicken katsu was crunchy and the chicken was tender. I didn't like the "crumbs"'on top but they were easy enough to scrap off. The beef bao wasn't as good. There was a huge chunk of fat on it. See my picture. That was a disappointment. The bun itself was fluffy and overall they were pretty good. A bit of attention to the beef would've given them a higher score. That amount of fat was unacceptable in my book. The server was nice and came by to check on us an appropriate number of times. The small restaurant was kept up well. A bit of stuff stored along the wall but it appeared clean. The restroom was tidy. There were a couple of mis-steps that could've been avoided with closer attention but overall it was ok.

When our served came to the table, he did not introduce himself and didn't seem too happy to be at work (which I understand, but you are providing a service to someone). I felt like a burden to him. Our server wasn't as attentive or interactive with us. He asked for our drink orders and shortly came back to take our food order. We ordered the Steamed Beef Dumplings, Thai Spicy Shrimp Ramen, and the Spicy Duck Miso Ramen. The food came out quickly. I'm talking maybe 5 minutes after placing the order. Everything tasted great and was served hot and fresh.

I'm proud that they have servers of this caliber at Asian restaurants in Houston, TX. Usually you see professional servers at upscale restaurants. There was a busboy there towards the end, and even he was super professional. Whoever the manager is at this location, you guys are doing an outstanding job training the staff here. Keep up the good work! 2. Price - about $15/bowl. 3. Ambiance - The decor here is beautiful. There are natural lighting from the front, with wood panels everywhere, lanterns hung high. They did a nice job decorating the place and you definitely feel as if you're in Japan somewhere. 4. Food - This is where this place shines compare to all the ramen places in Houston. They have the option of low sodium broth. I took one sip, and it felt like home cooked Ramen. I'm not talking about instant ramen that you buy from the store, but the ramen made from scratch. I often go to ramen places in Houston and I dread going because I know how salty they taste. There are 2 other locations I have in mind in Houston that are also my favorites. But I would say this is not bad compared to the bowl of ramen I had in Narita, Japan. If you're wondering what I've ordered, it was the CHICKEN RICH RAMEN and make sure to request for low sodium. 5. Cleanliness - Dining area is well kept, clean, and the busboy is on top of things. The restroom is questionable. The personal restroom doors are hard to close and lock. For management, have a look at the restrooms and see if you can improve things. SUMMARY: I would definitely come back. It is just THAT GOOD!

I'd driven past Kikko Ramen plenty of times, so I decided it was finally time to give it a try. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated, although the layout struck me as a little unusual. There's a tall counter running along one wall, an open ramen finishing area near the entrance, and a small bar tucked into the back. I learned the next day that the space had previously been a Firehouse Subs, which suddenly made the layout make a lot more sense. I could see three employees working during my visit. Service was efficient and reasonably quick, although not particularly attentive once I had my food. I ordered the spicy Kikko ramen with pork and chicken along with an order of egg rolls. The egg rolls were good and came with a carrot garnish, although I was expecting the carrots to be pickled and they weren't. The ramen was definitely the highlight. The broth was creamy, rich, and delicious, and the noodles had a good texture. The chicken started out a little dry, but interestingly improved as the meal went on and it had more time to soak up the broth. The pork was excellent--easily one of the better pieces of pork I've had in a bowl of ramen. The egg had good flavor and texture, although I was a little disappointed to find only half an egg. More importantly, the center was still slightly cold when I started eating. Overall, this was a very good bowl of ramen with a few minor execution issues. Next time I may actually let the bowl sit for a couple of minutes before digging in so all of the toppings have a chance to come up to temperature. I'll definitely be back, and next time I'll probably skip the chicken and see what else on the menu can compete with that pork.

You may get higher ratings if your customers are not expecting something and getting something else? The poke bowl was very good and came with a lot of sauce. Nicely portioned with avocado which was a nice touch. The shrimp tempura was ok, breading was not the right consistency. Perhaps consider changing the name to Kikko noodle house and poke?
