    Miso soup

TLDR: pretty good sushi at a very reasonable price but service was definitely a miss. This place has a great location in the main strip in front of first colony mall. It wasn't very busy around 12-1 pm on a Saturday. There was one large group and otherwise no other parties. By the time we left there were several more groups. The way the waiters work kind of confused me, seemed like all of the servers shared every table, and I think that was the downfall of our service. Our orders were taken quickly, but the rest of the food came out at weird intervals. It felt like the large group confused everybody because all of the servers were trying to manage all the orders together. We ordered all off the lunch menu, so everything came with soup or salad. One of the entrees came out first (hibachi steak) and we had to ask for the soup and salad, so someone clearly forgot to bring it. The sushi came out a little later maybe 10 minutes after the steak. As far as the food: Miso soup was pretty standard, a good size and savory. The hibachi steak portion was just ok, it was for lunch but $16 seemed a little high. The meat was definitely a little over cooked and it came with a very small side of mixed vegetables. Wouldn't get this again. The sushi specials seem like they're really worth the price though. The Aki special was $21 and came with 6 nigiri (got to customize) and a special roll. I got the Aki roll, filled with spicy salmon and had salmon and avocado on top. A good size and very tasty. The nigiri were also decent, I liked that I got to choose from a wide variety of them. I hope that this was just a one off experience from a service standpoint because the sushi itself was tasty. If I came again, it would just be for the sushi.

Found this place while traveling for work, and it was great! Very Japanese like, the ramen was great! But what I like the most was the Steam Buns! Bite size that felt like a Japanese gusher, bursting with flavor of soup and pork! Service was great and ambiance felt very elegant. Would return happily. 10/10

The atmosphere is very cute. The staff were very friendly! The bathrooms were clean on a super busy night! In my opinion the best things were the buns, fried rice and the French fries. While the sushi was good, it wasn't the best unfortunately. I'd go back for the fries and to try the other things on the menu

After indulging in a little too much shopping at Kendra Scott, we decided to give Aki a try. The restaurant has a sleek and clean ambiance, with comfortable bench seating that provided plenty of room--refreshing compared to some tighter dining spaces. We sampled a variety of dishes: Garlic Edamame - A definite hit! Well-seasoned with a great texture. Shrimp Tempura - Light, crispy, and not greasy at all. They even included a few tempura vegetables, with the sweet potato being our favorite. Chicken Katsu Bao Bun & Shrimp Fried Rice (requested with no onions) - The shrimp fried rice was the standout dish. Clean, flavorful, and came with seven large shrimp. While the shrimp could have used a bit more seasoning, the dish as a whole was excellent. Beef Teriyaki Bento Box - The beef was cut into very small pieces, which my husband didn't love, but the flavor was decent. The bento box included a California roll, vegetable tempura, a spring roll, and fried rice. It also came with a choice of miso soup or salad (with ginger or miso dressing). The ginger dressing was especially strong and flavorful, which we really enjoyed. Service was solid--nothing extraordinary, but friendly and efficient overall. Aki left a great first impression, and we'll definitely return to try some sushi next time!

They now have 2 locations! While this one is a bit different...it's still good! The only complaint that I have is not having the onion soup on the menu! I love that soup!! I went on a Friday afternoon during lunch and it wasn't very busy. It was clean and they still have that fresh new look since the place is fairly new. My waiter was nice and let me know that even though this is AKI, it's a bit different from the other by HEB here in Sugar Land. I got the Temptation roll and Y U M M Y!! I really liked it and because I always enjoy their food I'm sure I'll be back soon!

The sashimi here tasted fresh and it was yummy. The roll I got (Rocknroll) was a little dry, but maybe it was just the type of roll. The ambience is nice- good mood lighting. I went there during lunch and had chef choice sashimi and roll- good price as well. Overall, liked it for a Sugar Land lunch spot!

The fish tasted fresh, I typically always getting the Chirashi at a sushi restaurant and this did not disappoint! The green tea is also actually green tea. I don't remember the rolls that my husband ordered, but he also enjoyed them! Another favorite place for us to get our sushi fix whenever we're in town!

Our server and Toy were amazing! The customer service was EXTREMELY over the top amazing. The server was constantly checking on us and made sure we enjoyed every single item. We came here on a Friday and we ordered a bunch of appetizers (Chicken Karage, Veggie Tempura, & Gyoza , 2 bao buns (chicken and pork belly), sushi rolls (shaggy dog, queen spider roll, & volcano roll) and 2 chicken skin skewers. WOW. everything was amazing - freshly made and the sushi tasted so fresh - melt in your mouth spicy tuna! The queen spider roll and volcano roll were our favorites. The appetizers were delicious too!! We will definitely be coming back here again. The pricing was fair and until end of this month, it was 30% off sushi due to their grand opening!!!

    House Vegetable Ramen

Would advise against ordering this. Maybe order something else instead. The spider sushi (though only six pieces) is decent, along with the seafood ramen and shogun chicken. The house ramen's flavor is very earthy. I love vegetable and usually can't go wrong with them. Personally, it's one of the worst I have tasted. Otherwise, services and ambiance is nice.

All the food we tried was really great, and a good value. Staff were very attentive. Location was right next to the mall. Space was very nicely decorated. Bao buns were our favorite especially the duck bao.

Love this place! The restaurant is always clean and the waitstaff is very welcoming. Happy hour is too good to pass up. Thank you to our wonderful server Nguyen! She was amazing & also training a new server while being extremely attentive. I didn't get his name or see a name tag oops :'|. My friend & I will be back soon. Great food & highly recommend Nguyen as your server!

Really delicious and fresh sushi! Ambiance was nice. Service was fair. We had to ask for silverware & chopsticks. The fresh, Alaskan sushi was fresh & delicious, but we needed fresh soy sauce and there was no Wasabi. I ordered the highly recommended Queen Shaggy Roll, which was delicious, but I think I would have preferred another choice, without steak better. My brother's sushi sampler dish looked amazing and my hand roll Spider was good too. My iced tea had no lemon and our waiter was young and a bit goofy. Overall, very good, but the service was missing that extra something and service too.

When you pickup your food, the sit down area is dark, and there isn't much of a waiting area. It looks to be run by two folks, the cook and the cashier. It is probably best to order over the app, as the one cashier is busy packing the food in the fancy packaging and dealing with the money transactions. Since it is only two people, it can be slow to get your food when it is busy. I waited an additional 20 mins from the projected time it was suppose to be done. As for the food, the miso ramen was packed in this fancy box. The box contained the soup separated from the noodles with a few side dishes. I believe this is the only vegi ramen they offer. It is nothing special. The broth is basically miso soup with soy sauce. (2 out of 5) The cold sesame noodles was better. It had more flavor. (4 out of 5) The Salt & Pepper Chicken was good (4.5 out of 5). I couldn't help eating it while in the car, as it smelled so good. The Braised Pork over rice was decent. It was cut up thick pork belly, braised in an Asian brown sauce. The flavoring was a little one sided. (3 out of 5). I'm giving this place an overall 3 stars because the food isn't something to rave about. Packaging and presentation were great, but tastes was more important to me.

I have passed by their restaurant many times, but it never occurred to me to go in until one day I was surprised to see them ranked in the top 100 ramen places nationally on Yelp! With less than 300 reviews, I was skeptical at first but was intrigued to give it a try, and I'm so glad that I did! I visited on a Friday afternoon right before New Year's and was greeted warmly by the staff inside. As I was indecisive on what to order in the ramen section, I asked the staff for suggestions. She was kind to walk me through the menu without rushing to get an order, and she mentioned that their most popular item is actually the beef noodles. That was all I needed to make a decision to try the beef noodles. While waiting for the food, I chatted with the staff and learned that the restaurant opened right before the pandemic then shifted their model to take-out only as the pandemic begin. Since then, they've tried to make use of their restaurant space to return to dine-in but it has been difficult to find reliable workers. In the interest of keeping the quality consistent and customers happy, they've decided to make sacrifices to keep the business model as is for take-out only instead of scaling up with additional staff, which is such a shame given the rent in the area is not cheap and they have such a beautiful space! When you hear "take-out only", I know what you're thinking, BUT I promise you this is the best takeout food you will ever have! The packaging is very well-designed to keep the flavors and ingredients at its finest! As I mentioned, I ordered the beef noodles, and typically noodle dishes are not ideal for takeout, but Asia Blue separates the soup from the noodles so that the noodles are not soggy, and even after half hour, the soup stayed warm and flavorful. The noodles also came paired with many mini side dishes as palate cleansers, which were a nice surprise. From my conversation with the staff, I've also learned that this is one of the rare places that truly make their broth fresh from premium ingredients! You can be sure that it's MSG free and packed with healthy nutrients, and that's a quality that you can taste. I highly recommend this place for your next ramen adventure, and I certainly will be returning again very soon to try the other menu items. :)

I got their wagyu nigiri, which comes with two pieces, and their signature ramen. The signature ramen is well-balanced and is creamy. You can definitely tell that the noodles are hand-made. The noodles are curly and bouncy, and I really enjoy their texture. All the meats within the signature are tender and soft, melting in your mouth. The ramen here is a bit pricier than other locations, but I do believe the quality and freshness of the ramen really shows. The wagyu nigiri was good, but nothing special per se. The meat was quite thin and was a bit lackluster. The interior is quite small, which leads to some wait time. I recommend going earlier before they open to secure a spot and to avoid long wait times. Parking can also get crazy in the plaza during the weekends. Staff was quick and attentive.
