holy moly. THIS WAS SO GOOD. we ordered the mojo pork and the loaded island mac bowl and shared both. The portions were MASSIVE (shocking for vegan food iykyk) and seasoned to perfection. crispiest mushrooms ever! now, I can pack away food but my to-go box looks like I didnt touch my plate. I can't wait for tomorrow's lunch! definitely save room for dessert or take it with you. we ordered the churro cake and guava cheese pastille. both were phenomenal. The food was incredible. I'm still thinking about the Churro Cake. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Taking away 1 star because the location and signage were really confusing. Thought we were in the wrong place, so I hope they change the signage to highlight the name of the restaurant from the street. Also, whatever menu I found online seemed to be different than the current menu onsite - so I had to change what I had planned to order. A lo Vegano is an awesome spot for vegan eats. I'm not vegan myself, but my brothers have been for years, so I've grown to enjoy checking out vegan and clean-eating places with them -- and honestly, I've come to love the food. What I like about this place is I can eat clean (vegan) while still enjoying all my favorites -- shrimp Alfredo pasta, jumbo fried shrimp, and even Cuban classics like ropa vieja -- without the heavy feeling afterward. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful. The pancakes were phenomenal, and their breakfast overall didn't miss a beat. They also have fresh juices, and the desserts were the perfect finish. I'm a big cinnamon roll guy, and their "cinaroll" with vegan ice cream on top was next-level -- all the flavor, none of the guilt. The only downside is the space -- it's not the best for big groups, but that's pretty common with vegan spots. Just keep in mind that food may take a little longer, and you might need to sit outside or grab it to go. Still, this place is definitely worth checking out. The staff were good too, they'll bring the food to your table if you aren't up waiting for it and overall seemed pretty accommodating. I would not sit at the canopy chairs outside though, they aren't that secure in my opinion and could be a hazard. read more

I finally had the opportunity to actually dine in here. My kid and their partner were coming for breakfast and I wasn't going to be too far away so they invited me to join them. My kid has celiac and other health issues and this is one of the few places they have found that is safe for them to eat at. The people that work here are very friendly and quite accommodating. I have my own issues with some foods and actually spent several minutes talking with the guy who does the cooking working out what would be the best thing for me to have off their menu. The kids had breakfast waffle sandwiches, which is one of their go to along with an iced coffee and their partner had dessert. The dessert was a chocolate cake with an Oreo and whipped cream and looked fantastic. This particular dessert was not a full vegan one, but they do have a great selection of those as well. My breakfast was fully vegan safe. I had a waffle which was humongous and it comes with two toppings. I chose fresh strawberries and whipped cream. The whipped cream is house made, and fairly heavy and tastes fantastic. I also got hashbrowns which consisted of two patties that were fried and seasoned. They were a bit too greasy and I should have set them on some napkins to drain a bit. Normally, this is a good thing, but I do have trouble with oils. The whole thing was delicious and I probably could've gotten away with eating a quarter of the waffle with the hashbrowns to make a meal. I did end up eating the whole thing and had a little bit of a stomach ache afterwards, but it was worth it. I also had a Mexican sprite with my meal. If you're looking for a really good vegan meal that taste good. You should really check this place out. My kids come here frequently and I'm glad I got to try it. Be aware of that. They are not inexpensive. I spent just over $20 for my meal with tip, but it was definitely worth it. read more

Wonderful vegan place with Caribbean-style food offerings. Very tasteful and diverse, there are plenty of options for the discerning palate and the best is that they are all plant based. Their creations such as their grilled chick'n or their plant based steak are simply , fantastic. The ambiance was great. Their service was really good. But the food was spectacular. This food made me rethink my rating system. The pancakes were light and fluffy and tasted like a subtle cinnamon roll. The breakfast croissant was flaky and the cheese, sausage, and egg were hot and delicious. It's difficult to describe vegan food sometimes because you're trying to describe food that is similar to what you ate before going vegan. Not here, the food tastes like what you order. i LOVE a lo vegano. every single piece of food i've ever gotten there is amazing! the food is extremely well-seasoned and expertly prepared. you can tell that the chef really knows how to cook. this is probably some of the most flavorful food i've ever had. Not just vegan food, but all food. i've ordered a few different dishes here, but my favorite is the mac n cheese. that is a must-purchase from this restaurant. out of all vegan mac n cheeses, it ranks top 5 for me. the vegan steak is also an excellent choice. i'm also a big fan of the fried eggs... i might just be a big fan of everything there. i really love this restaurant and it's even better because you can always get ice cream and vegan treats afterwards at vegan scoops! i would live here if i could. read more

What a wonderful place to eat at! Walk into this beautiful, rustic inspired diner if you're looking for a vegan option with some spunk. A Lo Vegano brings veganism and spanish food together making mouth watering dishes bursting with flavor. Not only was the food amazing but the service was impeccable and the employees and owner were very personable. The food portions were huge and big enough to share. The "steak" was delicious and so was the yuca with mojo. I absolutely love a vegan spot and when infused with spanish inspiration it's lovely. This place was a great! As a Cuban who grew up in South Florida for most of his life, my standards for Cuban food are very high, and unfortunately, I just don't think A Lo Vegano hits the mark for me. My first issue was with the wait time. I came in with two other people, with my girlfriend ordering the Malecón, her friend getting the grilled mushroom "chicken" salad, and myself the vegan steak with peppers and onions. For these three dishes, we waited easily for an hour, and this was at a time where the only other people who had ordered ahead of us was a family of four. I'd understand the wait if the food items we got would take a while to prepare, but an hour seemed like overkill. I was the first person to get their food, which was the vegan steak. With my first bite, I immediately noticed it was inedibly salty, particularly with the chimichurri it had. I asked to return my plate to the kitchen, but since they'd taken so long to make our food that they were half an hour from closing, I told them not to bother remaking it, as I didn't want to keep the staff later than needed. I did ask if there was any way to comp it either fully or partially off our bill, but the most I was offered was a free drink, and frankly, I don't think any drink would be worth the $20+ price of that dish, so that was disappointing as well. However, I will give credit to the chef for coming out of the kitchen to talk with me and get my feedback about my plate, as I'll always have massive respect for a chef who's open to hearing from his customers. As for my girlfriend and her friend, they both enjoyed their meals, with the Malecón particularly standing out with both the generous size and the perfect texture of the hearts of palm. So, while I personally didn't have the best experience between the wait and my plate, the food was at least worthwhile for my dining partners. We might make a follow-up visit sometime in the future to see if my rating is swayed, but for now, I'll give it a pass at three stars. read more

All-vegan Cuban cuisine -- sign me up. It's not obvious you're at the place when you walk in, as there is apparently also a vegan soul food place and ice cream place that share the space. Plus it's a bit puzzling who works for what business. I know they're fairly new but the operation doesn't seem to be running too smoothly as yet... For the Cuban food, you order at the kiosk upfront -- if there are slowpokes in front of you, which there were when I arrived, it can take quite a while to even put your order in. You can build your own plate of various proteins and sides. I got 2 proteins (plant-based mojo pork and plant-based chorizo) plus 1 side (Cuban-style black beans) for dine-in ($19 plus tax). I would've added some veggies but they were none on the menu (!). My food took a while to come out -- around 30 minutes. But, once it did, I forgot about the wait. The two proteins I got were delicious, if a tad salty -- I should've ordered some rice to go along with it. The pork was definitely the highlight of the two plant-based meats. The black bean soup was also incredible -- maybe the best black bean soup I've ever had. Damn. So, other than some operational hiccups and a lack of veggies on the menu, the food here is awesome. I like simple food so I got the pork with yuca fries, rice and beans. My husband got the garlic shrimp pasta and we shared tostadas. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. I should give a 1 star today. I am torn because the food is good but the service has changed. They have hired kids now that are not following through and do not have the experience. I placed an order on the one and only machine that is offered. So you stand in line first. Then due to the prices constantly increasing (jumping dollars at a time) I now have to pay cash at another register to save the increase of paying with the credit card. I asked if I would be getting a text when the food is ready(like they have in the past). She stated "where are you parked? Oh, I can bring that out to you"). I said that would be great. My dog was in the car, so that would be very helpful. They have my name, phone number and where I am parked. Time goes by and I see that people who were there before us have now eaten and left. I go back in waited at least 5-10min. They look at me like they have never seen me before. After checking for the food and didn't act like she remembered anything. Another worker picked up a bag of food and said "this has been here for an hour". No apologies at all. $60 for 2 people and treatment like this. Sorry but the cost is now getting to high. Just for an example. I see the cheesecake for a piece is now $12.50. With service and prices like this, we won't continue to go here. Just to add.
