Nic & Luc moved into a brick and mortar really close to where I work so I had to try it out. I found out about Nic & Luc through Lemonhearted on Instagram. I really enjoy her recommendations since it's never paid and just honest journalism. I think more Orlando influencers need to just be honest about what is good and what isn't good, rather than trying to sign everything expensive and trendy as such. Also I think when promoting things, people should practice discernment and ethics. I went there during my lunch hour and even walked there. I love it when cities are made to be walkable. It was a bit too hot, but city girl do what she gotta. I met a friend for lunch there. It's inside of a bank building. The staff was nice and it is an order and sit down situation where they bring it to you after you order. I got the honey lavender corn muffin and the Pig-Wich. First, the honey lavender corn muffin was insanely delicious. I still think about it. It's a nice dense and thick muffin that has a whipped corn honey lavender muffin. The sweetness of the topping and the crumb texture of the muffin made for a very nice bite. My rating is a 10/10 for this muffin. It cost $4. The sandwich is a breakfast sandwich with duroc bacon, egg that they'll make how you want it, cheddar, spinach, tomato, and garlic aioli on a brioche bun. I requested scrambled, just because as much as I like a sunny side up egg, it does make eating messy. This sandwich was a 9/10. It was delicious, well made, and easy hand held. Best part, it only cost me $10. Overall, I would rate them as a 9/10. I think what I got was great but there are other items that are a little pricey. However, if you're a downtown Orlando person and you work or live here. I highly recommend. read more

Nic & Luc popped up online while I was looking for a lunch spot in downtown Orlando. I went there during lunch on a weekday. It is located inside the PNC building so If you don't know is there you will probably missed it. I ordered their specialty of the day the carnitas bowl. I ordered to dine in but the guy at the register misunderstood me and I got a to go order. He looked a little confused. Anyway, I took my order back to work. The bowl was a good portion but I feel the carnitas needed a little more flavor and maybe some extra toppings. I also got a side salad which I truly enjoyed since it wasn't an iceberg lettuce salad. This one had spinach, arugula and other leafy greens. They have breakfast and lunch all day. I need to try something else next time. It is a cute place, I definitely be back. read more

They are BACK!!! It's been 15 months since we have been able to enjoy the fantastically crafted food from Chef Leroy at Nic & Luc. They are now open in their new downtown Orlando location in the PNC Bank building next to Lake Eola. SUPER cute entrance in the lobby of the building. Great ambiance. Staff was super nice. Chef Leroy has created a few new items on the menu. I tried the new Pork & Hash... that pork was so flavorful. And the potatoes?! I don't know how they get them so crispy yet soft inside. Mmmmm. My husband got the Breakfast Burrito (formally the El Burro)... the same finger licking good taste that we have missed. For dessert, we got the dark chocolate croissant and the brown butter chocolate chip cookie. Mmmm. So tender and delicious. We have never had a pastry that we didn't like from them. They are not open on the weekends anymore (for now) so you need to catch them 8a-3p Monday - Friday. Such a great vibe inside. My favorite brunch near me. It's a GEM tucked away in a plaza. We went right when they opened and was greeted by fresh pastries. We got the biscuit and gravy special (with chorizo) and the salmon rice bowl (sub quinoa). Great post workout meal as it didnt leave me feeling grimy after at all. What a hidden gem! The restaurant is located in an unassuming strip mall, but you are transported when you get inside. The vibe is casual and cozy, with some modern touches. You can choose from a wide variety of food, pastries, and drinks. All of the food items tasted super fresh and were delicious. The employees were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Unfortunately, I came on a mommy lunch date with 2 babies and decided to stay after noticing their was only one high chair. I ate with my toddler standing next to me on the bench for my lunch. And if you have children you already know I couldn't enjoy my lunch in peace. - 2 stars because they didn't have changing tables in the bathroom. Nic & Luc is a scratch kitchen located over in Longwood. I tend to frequent this spot since it is so close to my house. They serve breakfast, lunch and brunch items. They focus on fresh and natural ingredients. They source their ingredients from responsible suppliers and growers. When you walk in you'll see a relaxed cozy environment, enough seating for 30 people or so. They open at 10 AM and as soon as they open especially on the weekend you can expect a line to form. They've developed quite a reputation for good quality food. Their staff is incredibly friendly and attentive to your needs. I'm a frequent visitor and this time I opted for their standard breakfast of scrambled eggs with sausage and potatoes. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausage had a unique taste that I enjoyed. The potatoes had a great crisp on the outside while still being soft on the inside. My experience here is always positive, they also have a bakery that runs out quickly that contains cookies, muffins etc. You can expect high quality food from everything you order. The bottom line, this is a great lowkey spot for some good food for a solo trip or for a smaller group. read more

The potatoes are awesome, the mushroom omelette was very rich in flavor, the biscuit and gravy was good but I will get it the normal way next time (the chorizo didn't match the the flavors in my opinion but the biscuit itself was so damn good. It's off the main road in a shopping center, not easy to see. But it's worth the effort! The Huevos Rancheros is not currently on the menu, but the chef made it for my husband. He loved every bite, which is saying a lot since he is very picky about this dish. I had the grits bowl with turkey sausage - ahhh! The scallions and carmelized onions made it special. Quaint little breakfast eatery tucked away in a strip mall. This was my first visit there and upon entering you kinda have to figure out the process. You grab a menu, look it over, order and pay then try to seat yourself if a table is open. It can get crowded when no tables are open and people just standing about. Outside tables and chairs would be my only recommendation. The food was tasty. I had the keto scramble which was light and delicious. My partner had the shrimp and grits which he said was nice and creamy, but could have done with a deeper bowl. My partner enjoyed the smooth match latte and the coffee was smooth. A successful scratch kitchen requires vision, real ingredients, and great execution to combine all the elements. The chef and owner, Leroy, has accomplished the trifecta, in my opinion. Using Yelp to find a different place to try, I found N & L's menu interesting but had to bookmark it at the time. When my wife, son and I eventually visited, they wondered where we were headed as we turned into a business plaza. But as we parked and walked into the modern place and looked over the menu, the wondering ceased. We chose the Super Green Bowl, Korean BBQ Piggy, and Patty Melt Special. The warm bowl is vegan with plenty of flavor. On this day, the sweet potatoes were a bit underdone and we did not have time to ask for a redo. Both sandwiches packed flavor unique to their names. The pork carnitas for the BBQ are roasted and then soaked in their juices again made for a moist sandwich with the spice of the kimchi and the gochujang all on Olde Hearth sourdough made my taste buds do foodie cartwheels. On a take out order a couple weeks later, my Patty Melt special took on a wonderful flavor enhancement due to the housemade Nic & Luc Bacon Jam. You can buy these jams that have won awards (in Miami, if I remember correctly) at the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and on this weekday, and fairly empty with a regular stream of customers pick up orders. With limited hours of operation, you'll need to plan your visit, and, you'll be glad you did as you enjoy the made from scratch dishes and sandwiches. read more

The highest compliment I can pay Nic & Luc's is that this is the kind of Kitchen where you re-think food...in the BEST possible way. My first visit and I went all in on the Korean Piggy Melt. Why? Because pulled pork, kimchi, and ciabatta bread are not on my list of favorites. Nor am I a fan of "melts." That said, this was one of the best sandwiches I've had in recent memory. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. That pulled pork was succulent. The spice of the kimchi did not overpower the whole flavor of the sandwich - including the bread. Also, RESPECT for the amount of hustle this family puts in to running this minimalist, but attractive and CLEAN dining space. Every patron was greeted, every table was wiped down quickly. Finally, I treated myself to a guava muffin (also not a fan of guava). And it was FANTASTIC for breakfast the next morning. So much guava in that tasty, sizeable muffin - absolute bang for my buck. Absolutely delicious, fresh food in a random little strip mall. Had the BLT+avocado and a side of their house potatoes with a cappuccino. The BLTA was super generous, tons of tasty bacon and avocado with a refreshing side salad. The sour dough bread was so flavorful, soft with the right amount of crunch.
