I geared myself up to try this local vegan plant based spot, I see others are yelping about too - as said it's basically a small cafe inside a book store. To drink, my eyes were on the green machine smoothie - needed to get my greens in, it included spinach, kale, pineapple, and mango (don't kill me if that's not exactly it to the Tee but went something like that) I was all for it too. Drank that thing right up and Im craving it as we speak. It's not overwhelming sweet just the right touch from the pineapple. They had some other good ones that look worth trying. For my lunch meal I got the lomo arepa. Vegan meat with peppers and onions in a tomato based sauce. I asked the lady working there what the vegan meat is made from - basically soy and wheat. The food came out super fresh, hot, and presentable. I will say it's not something I would re-order but I can see why plant based lovers are into it. I would come back if in the area to try another smoothie or lunch dish - we'll see what holds next.

Oh man, the customer service here is just above and beyond. I was greeted immediately and my order was taken. I explored the book store and groceries they had inside of the store. It was spacious and all types of cool decor signage. I ordered the chicken alfredo pizza and cocada /mango smoothies. I really enjoyed my cocada smoothie. It reminded me a nice cool porridge with cinnamon. I will definitely be coming back to get one. The mango smoothie was fresh and who would have thought that lime and mango works. First time trying lime and mango and it had my taste buds dancing.

This place is located in a cool book store/ vegan grocery store. It's a nice place to grab a bite to eat. They have great vegan options! The service is wonderful and everyone is very nice. It's a small spot with a few tables which makes it a great place to get some work done while grabbing a bite to eat or sitting and chatting over a nice meal. The arepas are delicious and I seriously order them every time. My fave is the "chicken" salad arepa with avocado! The sauces are very good and everything is made fresh. Highly recommend!

We love coming here. I had trouble finding it the first time because it's located inside the Adventist bookstore. It's a nice space and it has a nice energy. We have been a few times and it's always good. The fries are nice and crispy, the signature Norma burger is lovely, and we have liked everything else we have tried. Everything is Vegan. The owner is a kind woman that wants to offer good food for everyone so we are happy to come here and support their business. It's not a fast food place where everything g is pre-made so you might have to eat a bit to get your food but the good thing is that you know is fresh and made right on the spot.

Can I swear? Cuz I feel bad swearing about a place in a church book store... But HOLY F#*K!!!! I can't say enough about this place. Greeted immediately by the owners who gave us recommendations and really made us feel so welcomed and appreciated for being there. Norma's husband explained to us how the restaurant came to be. Normas passion for her food shines through not only on the food you're served but her personal interaction as we were at the counter deciding what to order. As she was preparing another order she made sure to comment on her husband recommendations and add hers too. I had originally planned on getting a bowl with plantains in it but after watching Norma dish up some of her arepas I was sold. Best for me was the arepa stuffed with beef, cheese and sweet plantains. (ALL VEGAN OF COURSE) The arepas were the best I'd ever had. Warm and crisp on the outside and soft and buttery in the inside. I can't put into words how good it was beyond that. Just amazing. I also had an arepa stuffed with their chicken salad which Joe finished for me and he preferred because it was so darned flavorful. It didn't come close to the beef for me though. I can't wait to come back for more. The hours make it a little tricky for folks working full time on the other side of town. We only made it over because we'd taken the week off for vacation and made it during a week day. But now that I know how good it is, I will happily take another PTO day to visit for lunch during the week. If you're on the fence or haven't been because of the hours, it is totally worth going out of your way or taking an extra long lunch to make it. IT IS SOOOOOO GOOD!!!

This is a gem. When you walk into this bookstore it's beautiful and quiet. Once you pass the lobby immediately to the right is Norma's deli. It has a cute little sitting area with an adequate amount of tables and chairs to enjoy your breakfast, lunch or anytime meal. The staff are very friendly and kind. When I arrived I ordered a green machine smoothie which had the right amount of sweetness and there were options for add ins as well like chia seeds, or milk. I ordered the smoothie as is and it was delicious and refreshing. The menu offers quite an array of options. At the register they have a hot plate of fresh empanadas you can buy for $3.99 if you just want a quick hot snack. I was tempted but instead I ordered the meat and cheese arepa with avocado and cilantro cream. They did not disappoint. The arepa had a crisp on the outside to the last bite. It was fluffy and moist in the inside and the cilantro cream was to die for. It was creamy and light with a touch of lime flavor. I loved it! I can't wait to return and try more of their menu items. While I waited for my food I walked around and explored all of the treasures the natural food store had to offer. As a vegan there are so many things hard to find and guaranteed this store probably has what you need. I ended up grabbing a jerky stick to try and a lb of hemp seed granola which was very nicely priced. If you're in the area or need to get away take a step into this awesome bookstore where you will definitely find things to purchase, explore and enjoy while you devour the delicious food Norma's has to offer.

This was my first time trying Norma's. I ordered Norma's house burger and an arepa rellena con queso. I browsed their book selection while I waited for my order, which took about 10 min. Their vegan grocery section is in the back. Burger was really good! The combo of quinoa, avocado, red onion, lettuce, cheese, pickles and tomato worked well, and it comes with a tartar aioli. Bun was nicely toasted and all the ingredients tasted fresh. The arepa was also very good, not dry or overly greasy. Prices were average. Cashiers were very friendly, and the dining area was very clean. Overall, I would definitely come back and would recommend to others.

Mannnnnnnnnnnnnn, Norma has done it AGAIN!!!! This place is rockstar! Forget all the fancy chain restaurants or other places that have "vegan" foods, go to Norma's!!! Do not let the location steer you away. It's not the easiest to find and its inside of a christian bookstore but everyone is so friendly and its super clean. There is also a mini vegan store in the back of the business. When we arrived in the parking lot we couldn't find Normas plant based cuisine but after a quick phone call to the business we were given easy directions and saw we had passed it about 3 times already. Upon entering we were greeted and given the most friendliest welcoming and run down of the menu. There's several table and chairs for indoor seating which was very nice as well. There are options for days and I wanted one of everything because everything sounded delicious , but i composed myself and went for the impossible tacos with fries lol Each bite was packed with flavor and better than the last. These were not those baby street tacos, these were your grandmas loaded tacos!! Toppings + a Chipotle sauce! The fries were fresh and cooked to perfection. We also had a mango slushie that was fresh and sweet. I will be driving from Tampa to come back here and eat....IT WAS THAT GOOD!! Make sure you come here hungry and ready to eat the best thing you've had a in a long while :)

Such an interesting concept I wish I saw more of. A bookstore, eatery & mini mart all in one. Normas plant based cuisine had so many great vegan options. The salad and green smoothie were delicious. Took 2 mins to get greeted but once we were helped the young gentleman was great. The the bookstore had such a cute kid section setup & the mini mart had mainly plant based options (which was a bonus). 10/10 recommend for a little bookstore with a twist concept or some lunch !

If you are looking for some good plant based eats make sure y'all visit Norma's ! I had the domino arepa with cheese, black beans and plantains! Hands down the best plant based arepa I've ever had and probably the best arepa I've had in Orlando. It was super flavorful, perfect amount of ingredients and everything was super fresh! I would 10/10 recommend and I will be be back for more! Thank you so much!

I love trying out new vegan spots, so I had been eyeing this place for a while and finally decided to stop in! I was a little confused upon arrival, as it is located inside a bookstore! The bookstore was small, quiet and packed with religious books. (Definitely a Christian library). There is plenty of seating room in front of Norma's to eat inside if you choose. Everything on their menu is vegan! They have a lot of menu items, with different plant based meat(less) options. I appreciated the variety of foods, like rice bowls, tacos, arepas, smoothies, salads and even breakfast food. The customer service was great, I ordered the impossible 3 tacos. It was pretty empty when I arrived (one hour before they closed) and it took about 18-20 minutes for me to receive my food after ordering with no guests in front of me, and one after me. I don't know if they usually take long or maybe because they closed in an hour? The tacos themselves were good, the best part for me was the sauce. I really enjoyed it, and knowing that it was vegan was an extra plus! They packed the tacos with A LOT of vegan cheese, and that was my only downside as im not a big fan of vegan cheese. I would not be opposed to ordering the tacos again, but this time without the cheese. Their menu items did peak my interest, and I see myself giving this place another chance in the future.

I want to give this place 5 stars SO BAD but it's one of the worst places I've ever eaten and I honestly don't want people to think that this is what vegan food is supposed to taste like. I ordered 4 menu items, and they were all either flavorless, dry, texturally awkward or completely drenched in mayonnaise. I had a LOT of trouble finding this place, google maps took us to the wrong place twice (finally I had to call to get there) It's hidden inside of a bookstore that's hidden inside of a church. The bookstore is all religious, so it's insanely quiet and as far as ambiance is concerned, you feel like you have to be silent like you're at a library with your grandmother... the fun factor is slightly less than zero here. That being said, on the positive, it is cleaner than some hospitals I've been in. Everything was new, well organized, wiped down, freshly stocked and in perfect condition- down to the tables, chairs and cute little plants on the tables. The staff was beyond polite, absolutely caring and -you can tell - genuinely good human beings. We had some questions about some of the menu items that were all answered thoroughly and kindly by more than one staff member... . HOWEVER, I've never in my life seen people in foodservice move at such a slow pace, It took almost 35 minutes to get our food once we had ordered. We were the only patrons there that were waiting for food and we could see 4 staff members present. I would never bash a place for taking a long time during a rush- trust me this wasn't that- they really are just insanely slow. We decided to order the Lomo saltado, a hot dog topped with some kind of slaw and mayo, yucca fries, & a breakfast burrito with potato egg & impossible. The hot dog- wow, ok... I've had almost every vegan dog on the market, some are great, some are okay, and some are downright horrible. Unfortunately this was the horrible variety. I believe they're using a loma linda canned hot dog, they're preserved in water which renders them completely mushy and flavorless. This dog did come on a really nice bun so I had hopes that could save the dog, it had a soft chew and was substantial in size but to no avail, the mushy dog was covered in canned chili and shredded cabbage that had been absolutely drenched in a mayo based sauce which looked appealing but was oddly bland and disgusting. I took one bite and we had to throw the rest away. The yucca fries- kinda pricey for four little fries but I'm absolutely ok with paying whatever someone wants to charge for the service they provide if they do it well. To my disappointment they were dry and flavorless, and again, served with a mayo sauce that had no personality whatsoever. These weren't horrible, but they tasted like nothing so they weren't in any way satisfying. I will say this was the one thing we did eat entirely (not the sauce) although, I was just eating them to eat something. The breakfast burrito- it came wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla that was what I'd classify as quite possibly the closest thing to slightly flexible stale cardboard I've ever attempted to eat. The burrito was pretty big, so portion wise it was a substantial meal. JUSTegg is probably one of the best vegan items on earth and under most circumstances I'd eat it off the floor so needless to say I did take the burrito apart and ate all of the JUSTegg. The potatoes were what I'd imagine to be a frozen product that has been par cooked, they seemed to be heated up in either an oven or air fryer with absolutely zero seasoning, onions or oil, which is great if you're making health conscious choices but horrible if you want to enjoy what you're eating. They forgot to include the impossible sausage in this burrito, sadly most of it went in to the trashcan. The lomo saltada- one of the weirdest grossest flavors I've ever had in my mouth. It tasted like someone tried to fix a bad home made stir fry with a cheap jar of off brand spaghetti sauce yet somehow through all of the combinations of ingredients they managed to serve something with no seasoning or spice. This was by far the worst of the worst but this dish was so bad I had to discreetly spit it in to my napkin before throwing the entire dish away. We hate wasting food but sadly ended up throwing away most of what we ordered. Very long review, I know- I hate to leave anything other than 5 stars for an all vegan place because it's so important to have them around but my god I hope no one who is considering going vegan ever eats here. If you're already vegan, go for it, you already know the deal. If you're considering it, just don't. To the owners, I'm sorry. I'm truly very sorry but please, get help, hire a chef or someone with a culinary background to help elevate your food. You obviously have a great support system with the church and your mission is awesome. I'm just scared you're going to give someone an inaccurate first impression of what vegan food can be.

It was really cute and they have wine slushies and I wish I could have had some of those. I got a regular smash burger with truffle parm fries. It was definitely on the more expensive end of food. The burger was not really a true smash burger, but it was fine. I would rate is a 7/10. The truffle parm fries were an 8.5/10. It was definitely made well, I just think I wish both items had more flavor to it. The truffle parm fries felt like it used truffle oil, which is fine, but I couldn't taste it strongly. I could smell it, but not taste. The burger, I just wished was actually smashed into the griddle where it gets really crispy. I will say the customer service was excellent. They misheard my partner order an extra patty and they brought it out to him immediately. Otherwise, they have a lot of sauces and other little things to place on the burger, so maybe that's why they keep it more basic. I did not see all that till after I already ate the whole thing. Overall, I think it's good and an 7/10 restaurant. I'd like to come back and try it again to get a better opinion of it.

We have unanimously decided that this place has no friendly vibes while you're there. Their metal chairs are very uncomfortable and very low for taller people. I wouldn't recommend Eggs Up to anyone.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more This location is becoming known as the initial startup location for many bakeries, cakeries, and dessert shops. For me, I remember when Jackie's Bakery was here. Then it was occupied by the iconic The Sweet Heartist. Now, we have another bakery here, one that specializes in gluten-free baked goods, Willow's Gluten-Free Bakery. To be fair, the offerings that Willow's Gluten-Free Bakery (which I will shorthand to simply Willow's for the remainder of the review) is kind of paultry compared to their predecessors, but I must stress that when you take into account everything is gluten-free, it is quite a lot. As a matter of fact, I will even go as far to say that Willow's has it harder as baking gluten-free products is not an easy task, and you have to follow certain guidelines and rules if you want to really live up to he moniker of being "gluten-free." Though an address is given, most Brevardians know of the locale that Willow's is at if they happen to be a huge supporter of indie businesses. It always gives me a giggle that the business is right next to an Asian massage parlor, but I guess for an initial location, it is a price most businesses can't refuse. The location is still smallish and Willow's has to utilize what they have just like their predecessors. On the bakeshop floor, they have two display cases, a display table, and a pie case. There is no mention of the wares being gluten-free so it must be assumed that everything is gluten-free unless specially noted. To be fair, it would be hard to do both gluten and non-gluten wares in such a small space. The rule of thumb, from my knowledge as a baker working at Publix in the past, is that you can't use the kitchenware for regular baked goods with gluten-free wares and the kitchenware for gluten-free wares can only have gluten-free ingredients, ONLY! This prevents cross-contamination. In short, if Willow's uses a heavy duty mixer and they do gluten and gluten-free wares, they'll need to have two mixers in their tight space so that they don't mix. Also, the possibility of cross-contamination is very high in such a small baking area, too. What labels they do have are any extra added health details such as being free of nuts, soy, eggs, or being completely vegan. And the range is quite big for such desserts including donuts, cakes, pies, and cookies. I, myself, came here because they have a "Cinnamon Roll Flight," which was fantastic. The price was fair and the buns were not too big, not too small. Like Baby Bear's porridge, bed, and chair, they are "just right." And the taste? Exquisite. They tasted exactly like their flavors including pumpkin pie, maple bacon, regular, etc. Ultimately, the only gripe I have is its weird location and the hours they have, plus te lack of selection near the end of their operating hours, which is more on me than them. For now, I will give Willow's four out of five stars for their flavor, their excellent customer service, and the range of their gluten-free line. If Willow's remains consistent for, let's say about four more visits, I'll grant them their fifth star for consistency.

The outside seats were full and the sidewalk packed with spectators. The dining was empty so we had our pick of seats. We were greeted promptly and our server gave us plenty of time to review the menu while catching up. Our drinks were served quickly-I got a glass of sangria which was crisp and light, not overly sweet. The food was freshly prepared and served hot. Everyone raved about their choices. I got the vegan enchiladas and my husband got the nachos. Both were delicious. The enchiladas were topped with fresh shredded cabbage and tomatoes which gave enchiladas a nice crunch in each bite. The nachos were light-not overly drenched in cheese or cheese sauce like you find in most pubs nowadays. You could taste the vegetables. The dining room is cozy with a good view of the street. Everyone we spoke with was friendly and welcoming. If our vacation plans bring us to Deland again, I know they will include a visit to De laVega.

It was so good that I came back the very next day and brought my sister and my niece. This time, I ordered tacos and a birria quesadilla (the one that looks like a pizza). They also offer an actual birria pizza, but we went with the quesadilla -- and let me tell you, it was BIG as hell. Everything was seasoned perfectly, tasted amazing, and the presentation was on point. Now, let's talk about the location because you might think you're in the wrong place. When you pull up, it looks like an industrial area -- big parking lot, office buildings, and the place doesn't even look open. The windows are so dark and tinted you can't see inside, the parking lot might be empty, and you'll be questioning everything. Still pull on the door. When you open it, you'll see they're open. It's to-go only, no dine-in seating. The service is friendly, and they'll give recommendations if you ask. You order through a kiosk, and honestly, everything on the menu is good. I've had the tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and even the ramen -- all solid. But let me be VERY clear... My favorite thing on the menu, hands down, is the fried bread pudding. That shit is on another level. Straight up dangerous. I swear I went into a sugar coma after eating it because I passed out immediately after. It's that good. I didn't even wait until after my entrée the second time -- I ordered the dessert first because I already knew what it was giving. No pictures. No regrets. I'll absolutely be back.
