Absolutely loved this place. My bestie and I made a reservation for Saturday night at around 7. There was no wait but when we left, there was a long line outside to get in. I see why people love this place. Super cute inside, the food and drinks were awesome and our server was amazing. He recommended drinks and took good care of us. I would visit again. I hope it's soon !!
Came here on a Friday hoping to catch happy hour, only to find out it's now limited to Monday through Thursday... so just a heads up for anyone planning! Even though they were fully booked, the staff was kind enough to accommodate our group by seating us outside, which we really appreciated. The food was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious... everything we tried was beautifully presented and full of flavor. I'd highly recommend the duck. My nephew loveddd it! Definitely a spot I'd come back to. The only downside was the automatic 20% gratuity added for our table of five, especially since one of us was a kid. It felt a bit steep, but overall, still a great experience.
The Moderne really surprised me. After some other plans fell through for the evening, we found ourselves here on a Monday evening and it was unexpectedly lively. Monday is all night happy hour, which was a welcome surprise and even included some dishes that we were considering regardless. The Three Dots and a Dash was a very fresh take on a tiki drink and not too sweet at all. For $8 arguably the best value cocktail currently in Orlando. For food, we tried several pasta dishes including the miso cream noodle and the green curry pappardelle. I plan to return for the pappardelle alone as it was one of the more memorable and unique dishes I've had in a while. Our waiter also recommended the Korean fried chicken, which I will say rivals the beloved Domu wings. I would skip the ranch though as it was simply not needed. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a very intimate atmosphere, perfect for the impromptu date night we had. Location is awesome on Colonial. We did walk there so didn't have to find parking but there is a large lot behind and overflow across the street. On the service, our waiter seemed to simply have too many tables and subsequently service was a little slow. This didn't ruin the evening at all for us but worth mentioning. Overall, The Moderne was a solid experience with really unique dishes in a lovely atmosphere. It didn't feel like the typical fusion restaurant and its nice to have a higher end restaurant in this area.

We started off with some drinks and most of us order the sake sangria, it was delicious and refreshing. We also ordered food including the croquettes, bao, sushi rolls, quesadilla and the seafood pappardelle. The food was great and perfect portions. The restaurant has beautiful decor and style but at the same time it felt pretty chill. I definitely recommend making a reservation in advance.
I am thoroughly surprised with this restaurant! We enjoyed several dishes, all of which were flavorful and well presented. The service was outstanding! The server was educated on the menu with great recommendations, passionate and communicative. We ordered the Yellowtail Ceviche, Chilean Seabass Skewer, A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Skewer, Beef Bulgogi, and the Miso Cream Noodle. My favorites were the Wagyu Skewer and Miso Cream Noodle.

Definitely worth ordering. Some of the other items we tried were good but didn't quite stand out as much as those two. That said, the cocktails were fantastic and I would absolutely come back just to explore more of their drink menu. But the real highlight of the evening? The bartenders and staff. They were genuinely welcoming, full of great recommendations, and brought such positive energy to the experience. Sitting at the bar felt less like waiting for food and more like being part of the evening's vibe. Great service can elevate an entire meal, and that definitely happened here. Between the beautiful atmosphere, strong cocktails, and standout hospitality, this is a place I'd happily return to. Next time I'll be back at the bar with a drink in hand, another order of those miso cream noodles, and a mission to explore more of the menu.

Both were crafted with love & so much flavor, plus they're gorgeous (see pic!). Was so hard to pick what we wanted to eat, but we got a few things to share. Edamame (great but too salty for me), pork bao (wow!!), and green tofu curry (double wow!). I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend it as a great happy hour or dinner spot.

Moderne has become in a fav in my restaurant rotation. The service here is amazing. I love the banter of the staff. The playlist is amazing! They play great rnb and top 40. The food is so divine ugh. Monday nights they have all day happy hour as well! Love you moderne family read more

Updating my review to say this place is better and better with each visit! Highly recommend you make a reservation but we got lucky with a party of two recently. It was my friend's first time here and she LOVED it too! Our server was incredible and the drinks are always so fun! This time around, the seasonal drink menu items were named after the bartender's pets. Once you scan the QR code, you can see the menu items and they had these fun images of the drinks with the pets their named after. This place is a fun vibe. We ordered the broccolini, duck wontons and the korean fried chicken. All were very good! We even had two orders of the broccolini! The Korean fried chicken is always good. I order it almost every time I go to eat there. One of their mainstay cocktails is the Woman in White. Great presentation and so good! Can't wait to go back! read more

KFC are a must have on Mondays - they are on the happy our menu and one of the best out of a menu of exceptional foods. The staff is fun and inviting, always great to talk to them and have them join on the fun while enjoying the nice vibes that the moderne offers. read more

Tapas style food with a great intimate atmosphere. Service was quick and efficient and super friendly. Great for a date place or a casual meal with a friend. We went with a group and that was a bit of a struggle. I would definitely go back but with l4 people or less. read more
Came with friends for dinner on a Monday night. Surprisingly, it was busy and we were glad to have a reservation. Our table was not ready when we arrived so we grabbed drinks and ordered happy hour bites at the bar. We closed out at the bar and moved over to our table when it was available. Our friends have been there a couple times but it was our first. We shared small plates. Everything was good. I would avoid the sushi if I go again, because they put too much rice. It's fine and it's good but there's great sushi at so many other places. So, skip the sushi. I enjoyed the duck wontons, the lamb,the kimchi pasta, the chicken wings and the broccolini. They also have a strong cocktail game. They have the usual suspects and then they have monthly featured cocktails. Awesome. Dessert was great. We got the ice cream. Yum. One was like a deconstructed key lime pie. So good. Service was fantastic. Ambiance is good. A little noisy. Parking is a lot out back. Bathrooms are clean. We would come back here for more small plates and definitely cocktails. read more

Every time I come to Moderne, I'm even more blown away than the time prior. Somehow, the menu takes my favorite Asian inspired dishes & gives it their own twist. Bold flavors, savory dishes with a drink menu that had limited edition based off of the seasons. The Parranda in Osceola cocktail was a great twist of the best holiday drink--Coquito. It wasn't too busy for a Friday night, but I always recommend making a reservation even for a smaller group since it's typically very busy as the night goes on. read more

I've visited the Moderne a couple of times now and I've relished each trip. There is table seating inside and outside, and open seating at the U-shaped bar. Signature cocktails are the go-to here but they also offer a decent selection of beer, sake and whiskey (including Japanese Whiskey flights). The cocktail selection can rotate but if you happen to see the Mother's Mercy or Sake Sangria offered, I'd suggest those drinks. (Note: the sake sangria does make an appearance on their $8 happy hour menu.) On to the noms. I've tried a few dishes here but the stand outs are the yellowtail press roll and pork gyoza. The press rolls have some of the best mouth feel/texture I've experienced in sushi and the gyoza have delectable, soft and chewy in-house made wrappers. Outside seats have heater access in the winter and the service here has always been fab. To wrap up my short review I'd like to mention that the bartenders have been open to make cocktails on request and deliver some super playful renditions! read more
Last call for kitchen is 11:30pm, and I arrived at 11:15pm. Chilean sea bass skewer was good but it is small. Beef bulgogi was very mediocre...and that Korean chive pancake on the side was a slap in the face to Korea...it was basically just tortillas. Finished off with black sesame cheesecake which I could've done without. If you do end up trying, you gotta make sure you get all layers in your bites...just the top cheese part by itself is not good... So food overall was just ok. Decor is elevated and bathrooms are also fine. Bartenders were nice. Didn't try the cocktails so can't speak to those. read more
Best drinks I have had in a long time!! Servers were incredible and patient with questions. I felt like they gave us time and weren't rushing us out but stayed on top of us. The inside was a vibe and the music was great volume super chic place. The Chilean sea bass skewer is a MUST and the shrimp and crab Gyoza were a 12/10. I will say it is a tapas place, the portions were on the smaller side for apps but still good. I will be returning for good cocktails and tapas. read more
This place is super cute & vibey!! Great for group dinners, hangouts, GNOs..etc My favorite was the Miso Cream Grilled chashu, mushroom, miso, thin pasta noodle, fried garlic, parmesan, scallion!! This was soo tasty. I loved everything except the pork belly or whatever the meat was. I'd prefer another topping probably like uni? Or maybe shrimp.. The salmon press is also a great choice for sushi, very flavorful. I definitely was full all night. I probably would not order the krab Rangoon bread or the wontons, they were just average or tasteless. drinks were okay lychee drink (woman in white) was more alcohol rather than lychee flavored. Ambience, decor, food and service....this place has it all and they are consistent. I came with some friends for the first time and we sat at the bar, ordered a few appetizers and drinks. They were excellent. The first visit was so good that I ended up bringing my husband for date night. Everything from the food to the service was equally as excellent as the first time I would definitely bring friends here and come back anytime. Their dishes are unique and the flavors are on point. Moderne definitely lives up to its name -- from the design to the menu, everything feels fresh, playful, and modern. The bar sits right in the center as you walk in, surrounded by contemporary (and surprisingly comfy!) furniture. For a weekday, it was impressively busy, and their Tuesday night specials turned out to be a total win. I highly recommend the prix fixe dinner. It's the perfect way to sample a little bit of everything. You get to choose from several appetizers, entrées, and desserts, and honestly, it's such a great value. We ordered enough to serve four people even though we were only a party of three -- and we still nearly finished everything! The only things left were one pasta dish and a bit of dessert because we were just too full. Everything we tried was delicious, but my standouts were the spicy dumplings, beef skewers, Korean vodka noodles, and pork belly buns. Both desserts were tasty as well, though they had similar textures -- I would've loved a little more contrast there. Service was great; our server checked on us multiple times and walked us through the menu. Overall, Moderne is a hip, stylish spot with great food, beautiful drinks, and a fun vibe any time of day. It's been a few years since I've been here but it's still just as good. We came for happy hour and I got the vodka pasta and beef skewer. Beef was extremely tender and the vodka pasta is legit the best pasta I've had, my only critique is that I believed it used to be more spicy and it seems they have toned it down over the years. Likewise with the beef skewer, slightly different flavor, maybe a strong sesame aftertaste Very happy with both dishes but can maybe either be improved upon by reverting to original flavors. read more
I went to Moderne for a girls night out and oh my gosh I loved the interior! It was so chic. I felt like I was in the roaring twenties. They had super interesting drinks and a good variety of food options. The servings are a bit small for the price but they tasted good. I got the Asian short ribs and it was nice and sweet. Would definitely recommend the place for a fun and sleek night. read more

Vibes? Immaculate. Service? Outstanding. Food? I'm drooling. Such a cozy venue comfy seating great location and Asian style tapas. The drinks were also refreshing and came out SO fast. I always love the pork bao buns here and we tried the ribs too which were rich. Love coming here on a date or girls night out. You can def dress up or down and it's right on mills, awesome bar overall and delicious food. So many options around here but this one is consistently 10/10 can never go wrong. @themodernebar did not disappoint. The occasion was a farewell dinner for one of the homies, and the foods and drinks did NOT disappoint. Now, I've gone here before and was not impressed, but this go 'round was EVERYTHING to write home about. Lindsey took great care of us and gave us great recommendations on food. She didn't try to sell us everything on the menu, and that's what we appreciate the most. We finished off the night with some shots ( I totally forgot the name, but they were delish and probably had some Mezcal in 'em. On the table, you'll see the Beef Bulgogi which came out still sizzling on a skillet. The Beef had the perfect amount of heat to taste. You'll see a few orders of Korean Fried chicken wings, which were sweet,savory, and crispy. The ribs were ! The fried rice was a hit as well. read more

Definitely enjoyed my girlie's evening . It was filled with tons of food, drinks, chats, and laughs. This place was so palm beach chic style and bold. I loved every party of the decor especially the glass block wall. The staff was so kind and personable that you felt so comfortable with them. I will say the staff is attentive and not just your servers all of them. We order multiple items like the Cucumber salad, broccolini, eggplant, seabass, pork gyoza and many more. The dish that stood out to me the most was the fried eggplant ribs. They was surprisingly delicious and gave a sweet and salty type flavor. I will definitely order that again. Also, a cool fact about visiting was that the drinks of the month were named after the staffs pets. I had a blast here and couldn't have done it with ypur amazing staff and kitchen staff bringing out the dishes perfectly. Temperature of the food items were perfect. The the staff picking up multiple plates once they seen we were done too. I'll be back for sure and if you have not checked them out go give this place a try already. read more

Came in on a Wednesday night for Happy Hour before a show at The Plaza. Arrived about 5:30, plenty of seating at the bar and tables as well. We grabbed a couple bar stools and ordered off the HH menus. Had the saki sangria, non-alcoholic beer, the chicken wings and the seafood pappardelle. The drink was light and refreshing but could definitely feel the kick of the saki. Wings were perfectly crispy, sauced just right, really tasty. The seafood noodle dish was also really good, light sauce and delicious noodles. Great ambiance and service from bar tender. Definitely a spot to try when in the Mills 50 area. read more

First time visiting The Moderne this weekend for a girls' night. We were running late for our reservation and, being from out of town, had no idea where to park. Unfortunately, there's no phone number available to call the restaurant in situations like this, which made things more stressful. We ordered drinks, a few appetizers, and sushi from the raw bar. The atmosphere is pretty cool and makes for a nice one-time visit. However, the service was disappointing. We ordered two tuna rolls and one salmon roll, but the tuna was brought out way before the salmon, leaving one of us without a meal for 20 mins... When we asked when her meal was coming, the waitress explained that the chef prepares all tuna dishes at once and then all salmon dishes, which didn't really justify the mistake. She also made it a point to say that she put it in the system, and did not apologize for the oversight. By the time we finished the tuna roll, the salmon roll finally arrived. After that, our waitress barely checked on us and mostly ignored us until the end of the meal. Overall delish for drinks and appetizers; could have done without the entire raw bar experience. read more
10/10 for this restaurant! My boyfriend and I went in for dinner on a weeknight and the ambiance was perfect for a casual night or even for a date night. We did a walk in with no reservation around 6pm and the host told us the place is booked for the rest of the night. But we can sit at the bar and can still order food. So we did that. Tip: make sure you make a reservation They have happy hour for drinks from Thurs-Sun, and all day Monday. Check out their website for details. We got 5 things total. Tuna Kobachi: this dish was so refreshing and the sauce was so good! The tiny red eggs was a nice touch. They added a little crunch along with the tuna and they popped in your mouth! And the eggs did not taste fishy! (Which is what I like). After the tuna, I just finished the cucumbers dipping them with the sauce and it was great. Salmon Sunshine: if you love salmon, must get it! It was refreshing, and a little creamy! The mandarin in the dish added another layer of flavor on top of the Salmon. Yellowtail ceviche: this one was personally my favorite. It looks cool and it started with a good crunch from the outer layer, then the sauce oozing out along with the sushi. 10/10. I would come back again for this dish! Fried yuca croquettes with crab and chorizo: I have not had a croquette with fried yuca inside, so this dish was interesting. The crab mixed with the yuca was so good, reminded me of a Peruvian dish. Yuzu bliss for dessert. If you love yuzu, this dish is a must get! The yuzu flavor was very strong which I love! And it was refreshing, it didn't feel heavy after I ate the entire thing! O M G ... I can't wait to go back. The vibes here are super cool, chill cute, picture worthy! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Reservations Highly recommended especially on the weekends. Bar is first come first serve, and they also have a little sitting lounge area, couch and coffee table that's first come as well super cute. It's a little bit on the darker side as far as lighting goes. We had reservations for outside ( thankfully the had the heaters outside ) Staff was so good. Super attentive, and had personality! Explained things on the menu, answered all questions and Gave great recommendations! And the food ???? Everything we ordered was so good. I didn't expect to like the Pork Belly pasta dish but it was sooooooo good. And the CRAB RANGOON JAPANESE MILK BREAD. Loved the fried rice just wish it was an option with protein. But we ordered a skewer and that was perfect. Next I want some sticky ribs! Just book the reservation you won't regret it read more

I really love this place. The only thing that was lacking I guess was the service the servers weren't that attentive to my table due to the busyness of the restaurant and the bartender either when I ordered my first drink so I took off a star. The wings were phenomenal though they had the perfect crunch was fried and it was very saucy and I love wings that have a lot of sauce on them. The fried rice was cooked well. This is a really nice spot for a date or girls night at night. I prefer it because of the ambience and it has sort of a vintage retro vibe. I also tried one of the sushi rolls.
