The Moderne was such a great experience from start to finish. I loved the atmosphere, and the fact that it becomes 21+ after 9 p.m. gives it a more elevated, relaxed vibe that's perfect for date night or an evening out with friends. The food was excellent across the board. We ordered the vodka pasta, creamy mushroom pasta, ribs, duck, broccolini, fried rice, and a variety of other dishes, and everything was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The only item that missed the mark slightly for me was the duck, which was a little on the salty side, but everything else was outstanding. The cocktails were perfectly crafted, and the bartender was attentive, friendly, and made the experience even more enjoyable. Between the ambiance, great food, and exceptional drinks, The Moderne is definitely a spot I'll be returning to.

Moderne has become in a fav in my restaurant rotation. The service here is amazing. I love the banter of the staff. The playlist is amazing! They play great rnb and top 40. The food is so divine ugh. Monday nights they have all day happy hour as well! Love you moderne family

This is a tapas place so most of the plates are small. The price point is off for me for the portion size. The lamb was good but you only get 2 bites the roasted duck was good and you get plenty to share. The fiid comes out when it is ready.

Came here on a Friday hoping to catch happy hour, only to find out it's now limited to Monday through Thursday... so just a heads up for anyone planning! Even though they were fully booked, the staff was kind enough to accommodate our group by seating us outside, which we really appreciated. The food was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious... everything we tried was beautifully presented and full of flavor. I'd highly recommend the duck. My nephew loveddd it! Definitely a spot I'd come back to. The only downside was the automatic 20% gratuity added for our table of five, especially since one of us was a kid. It felt a bit steep, but overall, still a great experience.

Updating my review to say this place is better and better with each visit! Highly recommend you make a reservation but we got lucky with a party of two recently. It was my friend's first time here and she LOVED it too! Our server was incredible and the drinks are always so fun! This time around, the seasonal drink menu items were named after the bartender's pets. Once you scan the QR code, you can see the menu items and they had these fun images of the drinks with the pets their named after. This place is a fun vibe. We ordered the broccolini, duck wontons and the korean fried chicken. All were very good! We even had two orders of the broccolini! The Korean fried chicken is always good. I order it almost every time I go to eat there. One of their mainstay cocktails is the Woman in White. Great presentation and so good! Can't wait to go back!

The Moderne is one of the most stylish spots in Mills 50. The dim lighting, Art Deco-inspired design, and lively music create a great atmosphere for date night or drinks with friends. We shared several plates, including the Osaka pressed sushi and kushiyaki skewers, and everything arrived beautifully presented with bold, well-balanced flavors. The shareable menu makes it easy to sample different dishes throughout the evening. Their cocktail program is equally impressive--the drinks are creative without feeling gimmicky, and the presentation adds to the experience. Service was attentive and knowledgeable, even while the restaurant was busy. Reservations are a good idea because the space fills up quickly.

The Moderne is a great spot if you're looking for a place that blends good food with a fun atmosphere. We ordered several dishes to share, including the vodka pasta, creamy mushroom pasta, ribs, duck, broccolini, and fried rice. Everything was well prepared, and the pastas were definitely standouts. The duck was a little salty for my taste, but overall the meal was excellent. The cocktails were just as impressive, and the bartender did a great job making recommendations and keeping everyone taken care of throughout the night. I also like that it becomes 21+ after 9 p.m. It gives the restaurant a different energy later in the evening without losing the upscale feel. If you're looking for a place for date night, dinner with friends, or drinks after work, The Moderne is definitely worth checking out.

Absolutely loved this place. My bestie and I made a reservation for Saturday night at around 7. There was no wait but when we left, there was a long line outside to get in. I see why people love this place. Super cute inside, the food and drinks were awesome and our server was amazing. He recommended drinks and took good care of us. I would visit again. I hope it's soon !!

The Moderne really surprised me. After some other plans fell through for the evening, we found ourselves here on a Monday evening and it was unexpectedly lively. Monday is all night happy hour, which was a welcome surprise and even included some dishes that we were considering regardless. The Three Dots and a Dash was a very fresh take on a tiki drink and not too sweet at all. For $8 arguably the best value cocktail currently in Orlando. For food, we tried several pasta dishes including the miso cream noodle and the green curry pappardelle. I plan to return for the pappardelle alone as it was one of the more memorable and unique dishes I've had in a while. Our waiter also recommended the Korean fried chicken, which I will say rivals the beloved Domu wings. I would skip the ranch though as it was simply not needed. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a very intimate atmosphere, perfect for the impromptu date night we had. Location is awesome on Colonial. We did walk there so didn't have to find parking but there is a large lot behind and overflow across the street. On the service, our waiter seemed to simply have too many tables and subsequently service was a little slow. This didn't ruin the evening at all for us but worth mentioning. Overall, The Moderne was a solid experience with really unique dishes in a lovely atmosphere. It didn't feel like the typical fusion restaurant and its nice to have a higher end restaurant in this area.

I love the Moderne! The vibes, the service, the food are all incredible. A perfect date spot or nice night out with the girls, the Moderne doesn't miss. When I went with a friend, our server was so kind and gave us recommendations that were spot on. The only critique I have was that the miso cream noodle was a tad salty, but otherwise, each dish was packed with flavor that complimented each other. Definitely one of my top places in the Mills area.

I went here on a weekday after work to celebrate a friend's birthday. My first mistake was not making a reservation, fortunately, we were able to seat at the bar and that worked well for us. We started off with some drinks and most of us order the sake sangria, it was delicious and refreshing. We also ordered food including the croquettes, bao, sushi rolls, quesadilla and the seafood pappardelle. The food was great and perfect portions. The restaurant has beautiful decor and style but at the same time it felt pretty chill. I definitely recommend making a reservation in advance.

I recently spent an evening at The Moderne and grabbed a seat at the bar. The ambiance immediately sets the tone. The lighting is warm and moody, the décor feels modern and thoughtfully curated, and the whole space has that upscale-but-still-relaxed energy that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. It's the kind of atmosphere that works just as well for a casual night out as it does for a celebratory dinner. Now for the food. A few dishes really stood out: * Miso cream noodles - easily my favorite of the night. Rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying. * Asian sticky ribs - flavorful, and perfectly glazed. Definitely worth ordering. Some of the other items we tried were good but didn't quite stand out as much as those two. That said, the cocktails were fantastic and I would absolutely come back just to explore more of their drink menu. But the real highlight of the evening? The bartenders and staff. They were genuinely welcoming, full of great recommendations, and brought such positive energy to the experience. Sitting at the bar felt less like waiting for food and more like being part of the evening's vibe. Great service can elevate an entire meal, and that definitely happened here. Between the beautiful atmosphere, strong cocktails, and standout hospitality, this is a place I'd happily return to. Next time I'll be back at the bar with a drink in hand, another order of those miso cream noodles, and a mission to explore more of the menu.

This place is a vibe! Gorgeous decor and bar. Sat at the bar on a Sunday at 6:30pm, greeted quickly. Got one of their Feb special drinks and an original. Both were crafted with love & so much flavor, plus they're gorgeous (see pic!). Was so hard to pick what we wanted to eat, but we got a few things to share. Edamame (great but too salty for me), pork bao (wow!!), and green tofu curry (double wow!). I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend it as a great happy hour or dinner spot.

The ambiance and feel of the bar is very "sultry" and "intimate." The mood lighting, dark paneling/interiors paired with the bar itself being lit to be the center of attention, lends itself to the secretiveness and LURE that a modernized speakeasy would provide. I truly enjoy stepping foot into this little hidden, but NOT so hidden, gem (which can be accessed from the interior to Talay). Service can be slow at times - especially when they are busy. However, the staff is usually always gracious, helpful, and willing to serve. The few great mixologists I've met there have also been very willing to break down how they make their drinks and really give us a glimpse into their world. So, I'm appreciative of that. That is not something that you can always expect at bars. As for the drinks (and food I'll glaze over), I am usually not left disappointed. I appreciate that seasonally they play with their drink menu and introduce new cocktails. I also love a handful of their signature drinks on the menu. This may be the only bar I've had a drink with Aperol in it that I actually ENJOYED (and not tolerated). The pricing can get high depending on what you order, but for the area and the going rate of a night out, they hold their own. Definitely don't pop into Noir if you are looking for an AFFORDABLE cocktail experience because the tab will creep up on you. The food is OKAY. They share a kitchen with Talay and offer some items not on the Talay menu - which is nice. However, I rarely eat when I visit, so the few times I have, it's been okay. Nothing to truly brag home about. I am happy, though, that they did start offering food because in the very beginning (when they first opened), that was not an option. Anyways, Noir Bar is GREAT (to me)! I will keep coming here and recommending it to others. It's also great for a date night or night out with your friends. It's in a decent location - but please take heed of parking in this area, as it can be challenging to find FREE street parking. However, there is parking available all around and in various garages nearby.

Real good vibes. Orlando obviously has no shortage of places to eat, drink, and gather, but Alfie's belongs to that rare category of venues that feel equally at home in a major metropolis. It's the kind of spot that would fit seamlessly into Los Angeles's best neighborhoods: think Gold Line in Highland Park or the Vinyl Room at the Hollywood Palladium. Not because they're carbon copies, but because they share that intangible quality of genuine discovery and cultural curiosity. The crowd ( age range 25 - 35 mostly ) was genuinely engaged with one another. People were actually talking, actually present, not hunched over their phones. That alone felt invigorating. There was an undeniable spark in the room. Alfie's wasn't chasing trends; it was simply allowing them to emerge naturally. What impressed me most was how they brought it all together .. Retro stereo equipment and vinyl players from the 50s mixed with a bar area that's super sleek and modern. Conversations, music, the lounge itself .... all came together in a way that felt alive and IN THE MOMENT. When my LA friends visit, Alfie's is on the list. With the way he approached us and was completely impatient, we were a little turned off and left. Which lost them money on our entire group. He followed us out the door as we left. We looked over the happy hour menu (good all day on Monday nights and Tuesday through Friday 5-7pm). We ask Mel about the "Bartender's Choice" selection under happy hour drinks. She said the bartender will mix a drink of their preference. The customer cannot choose the alcohol or any mixers as the bartender makes the decisions all by him or herself. Mel asked if we had any allergies or any other issues that might affect the drinks the bartender would like to make. We said we did not and we decided to take on this "choice" experience. Serena was the bartender of the evening and she did an amazing job. She mixed up various concoctions for us throughout the night (we ordered a second round after the first one) and we enjoyed every drink she prepared. The presentation of the drinks were also well done. Serena's cocktails consisted of bourbon, rum, and various ingredients which could include bitters, lemon, agave or other cocktail mixers. She was the bartender extraordinaire of the evening. For food, we ordered the half dozen chicken wings (2 orders since they were so good) and the pizza empanadas to start. The two empanadas had mozzarella cheese stuffed inside and were served with a warm marinara. From the main menu, we ordered the Faroe Island Salmon, which was served on a bad of risotto and tomato butter, with capers. The portion of the salmon was somewhat small for the price of $28, but it and the risotto were cooked perfectly. We ended the night with their signature drink, "Death in the Afternoon" which contains absinthe and is one of my favorite drinks here in Orlando. It was another five star experience and my friend found a new restaurant she now loves. All in all, a great night thanks to the attentiveness and easy-going attitude of Mel, our server, and the exceptional cocktails from the bartender, Serena. Thank you both for a job very well done!

What a way to start the weekend. I had been in shade before just to stop in for a cocktail. I…read morereally enjoyed their espresso martini and the white kimono. But this time, I actually got to dine in for an appetizer and get a different drink. This place is always packed and vibrant and lively. We decided on the place last minute. Definitely recommend making a reservation. We were lucky to get two seats at the bar - the last two in fact. I got the transparency issue and it was what the bartender called "adult juice." it was sweet, but also very light in floral with the rose essence. Great alternative to my usual drink. My friend got the coco craze and WOW! I was impressed. The drink was so tasty and refreshing and yes, it was THC infused. We asked the bartender how much approximately the drink contained and she said about 6 mg for this drink and the other two drinks offered were 5 mg. I would get it next time for sure. I chose to have the pork belly to have a bite, and it was so tasty. The slaw and the pork belly went so well together, and it was a good combo of savory and sweet! On Fridays, they do have a DJ in the evening.I have not been on Saturday or Sunday to confirm if they do then but it definitely adds to the ambiance. She was great! Definitely a nice place to get together with friends, they do offer happy hour for drinks as well as an oyster special on Tuesdays. I know they have brunch menu, so maybe one day I'll be popping in for brunch to check it out.

Lamp and Shade was such a fun experience. The tapas-style menu is excellent, and the portions are…read moresurprisingly generous, so you get to try a variety of dishes without leaving hungry. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well done. One tip: make sure to check the very back pages of the drink menu -- that's where the specialty cocktails are hidden, and they're absolutely worth it. They also use a drink strength rating system, and trust the numbers -- they are very accurate. The atmosphere is great too. They play music inside, but it's at the perfect volume where you can still comfortably have conversations without yelling across the table. Between the food, drinks, and overall vibe, it made for a really enjoyable night out. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

The lighting inside is very dark and moody, and the music and atmosphere almost make you forget where you are. They also have an outdoor area facing the main street, but I personally prefer sitting inside. I usually sit at the bar, and you can order food there as well. This place gets VERY busy, especially on the weekends. On my last visit, there was a huge line at the entrance, but most of the people were waiting for their reservations. Since we were going to the bar, we were able to get in without waiting once the manager came out and helped us. Shoutout to the manager for making that happen! Tori Tori is a Japanese fusion lounge, and one thing I really like is that they focus on small bites. The prices are pretty reasonable, especially because you can order several different things and keep trying different dishes. And trust me, you're going to want to keep ordering because everything is so good! The shishito peppers are always one of my favorites and something I order almost every time. The drinks are also really good. The bartenders are very professional and knowledgeable, and they really know what they're doing. If you want to substitute an ingredient or customize your drink, they're usually happy to work with you and make something that fits your taste. If you're planning to visit, just keep in mind that Saturday and Sunday nights can be CRAZY busy. I would recommend trying a weekday if you want a more relaxed experience and less of a wait. Overall, Tori Tori is definitely a 5/5 for me. Great atmosphere, good drinks, fun music, and delicious small bites. Definitely a place I recommend checking out!
