It was my friend's first time here and she LOVED it too! Our server was incredible and the drinks are always so fun! This time around, the seasonal drink menu items were named after the bartender's pets. Once you scan the QR code, you can see the menu items and they had these fun images of the drinks with the pets their named after. This place is a fun vibe. We ordered the broccolini, duck wontons and the korean fried chicken. All were very good! We even had two orders of the broccolini! The Korean fried chicken is always good. Came here on a Friday hoping to catch happy hour, only to find out it's now limited to Monday through Thursday... so just a heads up for anyone planning! Even though they were fully booked, the staff was kind enough to accommodate our group by seating us outside, which we really appreciated. The food was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious... everything we tried was beautifully presented and full of flavor. I'd highly recommend the duck. My nephew loveddd it! Definitely a spot I'd come back to. The only downside was the automatic 20% gratuity added for our table of five, especially since one of us was a kid. The Moderne really surprised me. After some other plans fell through for the evening, we found ourselves here on a Monday evening and it was unexpectedly lively. Monday is all night happy hour, which was a welcome surprise and even included some dishes that we were considering regardless. The Three Dots and a Dash was a very fresh take on a tiki drink and not too sweet at all. For $8 arguably the best value cocktail currently in Orlando. For food, we tried several pasta dishes including the miso cream noodle and the green curry pappardelle. I plan to return for the pappardelle alone as it was one of the more memorable and unique dishes I've had in a while. Our waiter also recommended the Korean fried chicken, which I will say rivals the beloved Domu wings. I would skip the ranch though as it was simply not needed. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a very intimate atmosphere, perfect for the impromptu date night we had. Location is awesome on Colonial. We did walk there so didn't have to find parking but there is a large lot behind and overflow across the street. On the service, our waiter seemed to simply have too many tables and subsequently service was a little slow. This didn't ruin the evening at all for us but worth mentioning. Overall, The Moderne was a solid experience with really unique dishes in a lovely atmosphere. Super cute but gets crowded fast if you don't have a reservation. My cousin and I went for happy hour on a Thursday and all the tables were full/already reserved. Luckily, there were 2 seats free at the bar. Happy menu is so fulfilling and cost effective. $8 STRONG cocktails? Yes please! Nice portions of food under $12? Yes and thank you. Incredibly attentive, friendly, helpful, and committed to giving guests the best experience ever. If you're lucky enough to be sat with Anthony, ask him about his recent bartending experiences in Batuu. Non-drinkers--the bar *will* make you a mocktail, and I suggest giving them inspo. My rec? Tell them you want something creamsicle adjacent, you won't be disappointed. The food is just as good as the service--the rotating, seasonal menu is always delightful. The KFC remains undefeated, with a side of ranch ALWAYS, full stop. The tempura eggplant is last meal worthy. And for the ambiance to come in last, and still be a 10/10? I went here on a weekday after work to celebrate a friend's birthday. My first mistake was not making a reservation, fortunately, we were able to seat at the bar and that worked well for us. We started off with some drinks and most of us order the sake sangria, it was delicious and refreshing. I recently spent an evening at The Moderne and grabbed a seat at the bar. The ambiance immediately sets the tone. The lighting is warm and moody, the décor feels modern and thoughtfully curated, and the whole space has that upscale-but-still-relaxed energy that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. Definitely worth ordering. Some of the other items we tried were good but didn't quite stand out as much as those two. That said, the cocktails were fantastic and I would absolutely come back just to explore more of their drink menu. But the real highlight of the evening? The bartenders and staff. This place is a vibe! Gorgeous decor and bar. Sat at the bar on a Sunday at 6:30pm, greeted quickly. Got one of their Feb special drinks and an original. Both were crafted with love & so much flavor, plus they're gorgeous (see pic!). Was so hard to pick what we wanted to eat, but we got a few things to share. Our table was not ready when we arrived so we grabbed drinks and ordered happy hour bites at the bar. We closed out at the bar and moved over to our table when it was available. Our friends have been there a couple times but it was our first. We shared small plates. Everything was good. I would avoid the sushi if I go again, because they put too much rice. It's fine and it's good but there's great sushi at so many other places. So, skip the sushi. I enjoyed the duck wontons, the lamb,the kimchi pasta, the chicken wings and the broccolini. They also have a strong cocktail game. They have the usual suspects and then they have monthly featured cocktails. Awesome. Dessert was great. We got the ice cream. Yum. One was like a deconstructed key lime pie. So good. Service was fantastic. Ambiance is good. A little noisy. Parking is a lot out back. Bathrooms are clean. Last call for kitchen is 11:30pm, and I arrived at 11:15pm. Chilean sea bass skewer was good but it is small. Beef bulgogi was very mediocre...and that Korean chive pancake on the side was a slap in the face to Korea...it was basically just tortillas. Finished off with black sesame cheesecake which I could've done without. If you do end up trying, you gotta make sure you get all layers in your bites...just the top cheese part by itself is not good... So food overall was just ok. Every time I come to Moderne, I'm even more blown away than the time prior. Somehow, the menu takes my favorite Asian inspired dishes & gives it their own twist. Bold flavors, savory dishes with a drink menu that had limited edition based off of the seasons. The Parranda in Osceola cocktail was a great twist of the best holiday drink--Coquito. It wasn't too busy for a Friday night, but I always recommend making a reservation even for a smaller group since it's typically very busy as the night goes on. read more

I've visited the Moderne a couple of times now and I've relished each trip. There is table seating inside and outside, and open seating at the U-shaped bar. Signature cocktails are the go-to here but they also offer a decent selection of beer, sake and whiskey (including Japanese Whiskey flights). The cocktail selection can rotate but if you happen to see the Mother's Mercy or Sake Sangria offered, I'd suggest those drinks. (Note: the sake sangria does make an appearance on their $8 happy hour menu.) On to the noms. I've tried a few dishes here but the stand outs are the yellowtail press roll and pork gyoza. The press rolls have some of the best mouth feel/texture I've experienced in sushi and the gyoza have delectable, soft and chewy in-house made wrappers. Outside seats have heater access in the winter and the service here has always been fab. To wrap up my short review I'd like to mention that the bartenders have been open to make cocktails on request and deliver some super playful renditions! read more

The bread was light and fluffy and the filling was perfect. Next up was the lamb rack, it was tender and the presentation was beautiful. Our main entre was the miso cream noodle and the consistency was great along with the slight crunch of the mushrooms added in. We ended the meal with the yuzu desert which was a delightful balance of tart citrus and the texture from the biscoff completed it. Beef was extremely tender and the vodka pasta is legit the best pasta I've had, my only critique is that I believed it used to be more spicy and it seems they have toned it down over the years. Likewise with the beef skewer, slightly different flavor, maybe a strong sesame aftertaste Very happy with both dishes but can maybe either be improved upon by reverting to original flavors. read more

Definitely enjoyed my girlie's evening . It was filled with tons of food, drinks, chats, and laughs. This place was so palm beach chic style and bold. I loved every party of the decor especially the glass block wall. The staff was so kind and personable that you felt so comfortable with them. I will say the staff is attentive and not just your servers all of them. We order multiple items like the Cucumber salad, broccolini, eggplant, seabass, pork gyoza and many more. The dish that stood out to me the most was the fried eggplant ribs. They was surprisingly delicious and gave a sweet and salty type flavor. I will definitely order that again. Also, a cool fact about visiting was that the drinks of the month were named after the staffs pets. I had a blast here and couldn't have done it with ypur amazing staff and kitchen staff bringing out the dishes perfectly. Temperature of the food items were perfect. First time visiting The Moderne this weekend for a girls' night. We were running late for our reservation and, being from out of town, had no idea where to park. Unfortunately, there's no phone number available to call the restaurant in situations like this, which made things more stressful. We ordered drinks, a few appetizers, and sushi from the raw bar. The atmosphere is pretty cool and makes for a nice one-time visit. However, the service was disappointing. We ordered two tuna rolls and one salmon roll, but the tuna was brought out way before the salmon, leaving one of us without a meal for 20 mins... When we asked when her meal was coming, the waitress explained that the chef prepares all tuna dishes at once and then all salmon dishes, which didn't really justify the mistake. She also made it a point to say that she put it in the system, and did not apologize for the oversight. By the time we finished the tuna roll, the salmon roll finally arrived. After that, our waitress barely checked on us and mostly ignored us until the end of the meal. Overall delish for drinks and appetizers; could have done without the entire raw bar experience. read more

The bar sits right in the center as you walk in, surrounded by contemporary (and surprisingly comfy!) furniture. Came in on a Wednesday night for Happy Hour before a show at The Plaza. Arrived about 5:30, plenty of seating at the bar and tables as well. We grabbed a couple bar stools and ordered off the HH menus. Had the saki sangria, non-alcoholic beer, the chicken wings and the seafood pappardelle. The drink was light and refreshing but could definitely feel the kick of the saki. Wings were perfectly crispy, sauced just right, really tasty. Now, I've gone here before and was not impressed, but this go 'round was EVERYTHING to write home about. Lindsey took great care of us and gave us great recommendations on food. She didn't try to sell us everything on the menu, and that's what we appreciate the most. We finished off the night with some shots ( I totally forgot the name, but they were delish and probably had some Mezcal in 'em. Tuna Kobachi: this dish was so refreshing and the sauce was so good! The tiny red eggs was a nice touch. They added a little crunch along with the tuna and they popped in your mouth! And the eggs did not taste fishy! (Which is what I like). After the tuna, I just finished the cucumbers dipping them with the sauce and it was great. Salmon Sunshine: if you love salmon, must get it! It was refreshing, and a little creamy! The mandarin in the dish added another layer of flavor on top of the Salmon. Yellowtail ceviche: this one was personally my favorite. It looks cool and it started with a good crunch from the outer layer, then the sauce oozing out along with the sushi. 10/10. I would come back again for this dish! Fried yuca croquettes with crab and chorizo: I have not had a croquette with fried yuca inside, so this dish was interesting. The crab mixed with the yuca was so good, reminded me of a Peruvian dish. The wings were phenomenal though they had the perfect crunch was fried and it was very saucy and I love wings that have a lot of sauce on them. The fried rice was cooked well. My husband and I recently dined here before catching a show at Dr. Phillips Center for the performing arts. We made a reservation online at OpenTable. I recommend you do this, especially if you are a group, because most of the tables here are designed for two. We were able to find street parking out front, but there's also a parking lot available behind. We checked in at the host stand and were promptly seated. The vibe of this place is very cool. It definitely looks like a French brassiere. I started with a seasonal cocktail. It was called the pink pony fizz. The color was absolutely stunning, and the taste was excellent. For food, we shared several items. Everything is tapas portions. We had the pork Gyoza, a beef skewer, the salmon, the duck, and fried rice. I was very happy with the beef skewer and the fried rice. I would absolutely order both of those again if I were to return. My husband was very pleased with the salmon and the duck. The gyoza were fine. They weren't special and we both agreed we would not order these again. Service was OK. It seemed our server had the entire wall of tables which would be about 10 tables. So a couple times we asked for things and she forgot them or we waited for a while to order. Such a cute spot for dinner and drinks! We recently just came here this weekend on a whim because we wanted to go somewhere not so crowded...but would still provide us with an upscale downtown Orlando experience and The Moderne did not disappoint! This spot is located right in a strip mall on East Colonial close to Mills. Parking is pretty easy to find as there is a parking lot in the back and street parking within the surrounding area. Upon entering, we were greeted immediately by the hostess and were seated on the patio. Our server was soo kind and attentive, even taking the time to have conversations with us and crack some jokes. For my drink, I ordered the Espresso Martini which was very tasty and not too sweet, which I definitely prefer. For the food, we got the Korean Fried Chicken and the Mushroom Bibimbop. The Korean Fried Chicken had such an amazing crunch to them and was seasoned perfectly! The Mushroom Bibimbop was phenomenal as well, it came out PIPING HOT in a stone bowl...
