(I was aware that due to my father's fractured hip at the age of 89 that he only had a 17% to 33% chance of living.) He continued to stay at Baywind but was taken care of by Village Home Health and Hospice. The entire staff is professional, knowledgeable, curtious, compassionate, and extremely kind-hearted. They were incredible in the last 5 days of my father's life. They took exceptional care of him and let him pass away with the utmost respect and dignity. I stayed with my father every day for 12 to 14 hours a day. I always discussed with Rose what I saw my father going through each day so his medications could be adjusted accordingly. I personally want to thank Rose for always being upfront and honest with me regarding the status of my father's failing health in his last days. I always wanted the truth, and I respect Rose very much for never sugar coating it. On the last day, I knew my father only had a few hours left, so I went home to be with my brother's. I knew my father would not pass away in front of his only daughter. So, I allowed him to pass away on his own terms and when he was ready. Loosing my father, who was my best friend, is the absolute hardest thing I will ever have to endure in my life, but knowing that he was cared for by the very best gives me peace of mind. First…read moreyou have to learn what type of facility is what and what insurance/Medicaid/payment options are. If it's your first time dealing with it this then that alone is a battle. Once you work through that you have to find the "perfect" place. I'm here to tell you the perfect place does not exist. Nothing is going to take the place of their home or living with family. And every single nursing home has bumps in the road. That said, I have nothing but high praise for Regency Village. Ignore all reviews more than 3 months old. Regency was bought by a new corporation 4 months ago and is aggressively working to make this the best place in the area for our loved ones. My dad has been at Regency about a month and I'm up there every single day, 3-4 hours a day. I've seen first hand the commitment to care. The office staff - admitting, reception, and business manager are all knowledgeable, accessible, and eager to help. Everything is laid out clearly and there were no surprises, delays, or issues with admitting or billing. Both ladies made a point to check on us after we got my dad settled. The receptionist is friendly and welcoming every single time. She goes out of her way to help. The nursing staff is accessible for family questions, well trained, and are intentional in connecting with patients. No one walks into my dad's room and hands him meds and walks out. They always stay and have a conversation with him. They care about the person. They are patient and tolerant with his grouchy personality! The CNA's are hard workers. Can the facility be short staffed in this area? Yes, but every single facility is. This is an incredibly hard job and it's hard to fill those positions. But, the workers at Regency don't skip on rounds, they don't ignore call buttons, and they don't rush with your loved ones. These folks work hard and have a massive impact on quality of life. They know it and they take their responsibility seriously. They also connect with residents. The therapy staff here are all above and beyond the average in house therapy. The therapy facilities are amazing and my dad has increased his abilities since working with the therapy staff. They know how to balance the fine line of motivating but not forcing. The facility itself is gorgeous. Clean, large rooms, outdoor space, quiet street. The workers are happy to be here and it shows. There is pride in being part of Regency. Make the time to come visit. I visited dozens of places before bringing my dad here. I'm so thankful we found Regency. This is where your loved ones needs to be.

So I didn't mind the snappy tone of her voice in the call whatsoever, because it was an honest mistake. What REALLY bothers me is when we had to make a new appointment and she literally continued to mock us, repeating to me and my husband-- "aRe YoU SuRe yOU UnDerSTAND? YOU SEEM VERY CONFUSED THE FIRST TIME." (I quote this verbatim and she repeated this at least 3x") and added "ARE YOU SURE? JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE". I'm not about that so I just politely said, "yes we understand". But it is disgraceful how she speaks to non-native speakers when her job is a receptionist. Your parents or grandparents have probably experienced something similar and struggle to schedule appointments and call customer service without a representative being rude and snappy. SO PLEASE STOP PASSING THE BATON and REMEMBER YOUR ROOTS and try to be kind. You of all people should understand the struggles that minorities go through, so please be patient even if there is some frustration. They are probably reading this and smirking and laughing behind their desks right now and I honestly don't care, because I pretty sure this message won't even reach them. And if it does, then bless their hearts. I can only hope this doesn't happen to the other experiences of other patients coming here. The building was clean and didn't take long to get signed in. They don't have change, which was one inconvenience but luckily there was a Kroger across the street I got change from! The nurse practitioner, Sherry, was very sweet and informative! She really seemed to know about ear infections and cared about my pains! She prescribed me medicine for pickup at my local pharmacy and she encouraged over the counter medicines I could also take! I appreciate the attentiveness she had. I will be back and I highly recommend this family clinic to anyone! They even had waters, juices and chips laid out for their patients. It was only $50 to be seen if you don't have insurance! It was very clean, the family and I really liked the simple but pretty artwork and the comfortable accommodations for family and friends who were visiting the facility. I wish I'd taken photographs and particularly of the artwork on the walls. It seemed very clean to me which is important and the staff was very nice. I met a couple of the chaplains and they were wonderful. One of the chaplains also followed up with the key family member after the death to ensure that they were doing OK and provide a grief counseling referral if needed. It's not easy being at a hospice inpatient facility, but there was a lot to recommend this place. Really good experience despite the difficulty of the circumstances.

From the first meeting with Mr Dickerson to the end of my grandfathers life, the staff were so great. They were always available but also never interrupted our family time.
