We placed an order for pickup from this pizza place and really enjoyed the food!! It was so good!!! A Papano's is connected to a gas station, but they do have a decent sized dining room too. The pizza was ready when promised, and the people working were really nice and friendly. We ordered a large pepperoni pie, a medium BLT pie and an order of cheese bread with ranch on the side. Everything was DELICIOUS!!! The crust was seasoned perfectly and was super tasty. Everyone enjoyed it, definitely a 10/10. I can't recommend this place enough, definitely a great pizza place to stop at! read more

I was playing golf up in Crystal Mountain and by mistake I stumbled into Papanos Pizza. When I think if exceptional service and a focus on the customer Papanos was second too none. One of the workers Donnie was one of the most steadfast employees I have seen. When we arrived one of the pizzas was a size to small but Donnie made our pizza in 6 minutes and it was one of the best slices of pie I have tasted. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone stopping in Thompsonville or Crystal Mountain. Great experience!! read more

A great pizza place just down the street from Crystal Mountain Resort. It's very unassuming looking being inside the Marathon gas station but don't judge a book by it's cover. The garlic cheese bread and all of their pizzas are awesome. The only reason I didn't give it a five start rating is their large is about the size of a medium elsewhere so order accordingly. read more

This is a pizza joint in a gas station but don't let the location fool you. The pizza and sandwiches are great! We found this little gem after skiing at Crystal Mountain in 2013 and we keep going back. They do personal sizes in their house combos or create your own, which satisfies all of the unique preferences in my family. The decor isn't anything fabulous except for the fireplace that is perfect for thawing chilly feet and hands after skiing. The pizzas are baked quite quickly so we have not had long waits. By the looks of the walk-ins, they also do a good carry-out business. A Papano's is a wonderful delight in northern Michigan! read more

We've been coming to this place since 2002 pretty regularly- at least once a month. The pizzas we've received have been great 90% of the time, and good 10% of the time, which is probably better than I do my own job if we are being honest! The toasted subs are pretty substantial, this ain't no Subway. It's unpretentious, clean, quality fast food in the middle of nowhere with prices a LOT lower than you get inside the resort. I swear the owner is constantly remodeling and refreshing the store, which is not common around these parts where "rustic" is the rule. The staff has always been friendly to us, but we're not too demanding at places we can feed our whole family for less than $30! The employees told me they are planning to add more deli items. We also love to shop in the market for wine and snacks to take back to the cottage; not a huge selection but really unique, high quality choices. read more

Terrible! If traveling and in the area, don't waste your money! If you have to have pizza, either drive further or wait til you're home. Dry tasteless crust, almost no sauce or cheese, and very light on the toppings. And the salad.......no better. read more

This is a nice little up north cafe. We ordered the deluxe meat pizza and Greek salad. They were very good. The crust was nicely cooked, there were loads of meat and veggies on the pizza and the service was fast although they were busy. The only short fall is the pizza was bland and could be remedied by adding garlic powder, oregano and basil to the pizza sauce. The good news is there are pepper flakes and grated cheese in little packets next to the napkins and straws which made the dining experience very good. Thumbs up to this one. read more

Twice this week I ordered a pizza over the phone, arrived after the estimated time only to find out my pizzas haven't even been started yet. Tonight the staff was very rude and after demanding a refund the manager threw a temper tantrum then threw my money at me and slammed register drawer shut, so hard the register almost fell off the counter. All the staff are young immature kids with no manager on duty. Another customer in front of me had been waiting over an hour too. Won't be returning for pizza or anything from the attached mini-mart. read more

I liked the Chinese worker there. He had very good service even with his limited english. He should get a raise for his good service. The bathroom was out of toilet paper and he went and put some in there. He is the best worker i've ever seen. read more

Meat eaters large pizza was very good. The breadsticks were good, but nothing special. $26 out the door. They had a special for 2 LG 2 topping pizzas + 2 liter cola for $23. It's in a gas station, but quite a few tables to dine in. Waited 20 min for our order. About 1/2 mile from Crystal Mountain. read more
