Staff warned us about the kitchen being backed up because the recently opened rooftop was packed. (It looked like a frat house nightmare up there. We sat in the dining room with families and other mostly sober people.) We ordered the sweer chili cauliflower appetizer just to kill time and match with a beer, but it turned out to be awesome. And I am generally not a fan of cauliflower substitutions for proteins. The veggie pizza wasn't too long of a wait, and it was solid. Lots of artichokes and olives. We took half for leftovers and it worked well as a cold pizza breakfast. Based on reviews, I wasn't expecting much, but I think this place is underrated. I ordered a calzone and it wasn't all that great. Portion size wasn't great. They had a good sized kids meal that my kids enjoyed. It came with fries and personal pizza. Service was meh, but I was told all restaurants during the Cherry Festival would be super busy and would have slow service. I felt that two parties of 5 were seated and served before we got our food. Great for families, dates, or takeout! Came here for birthday dinner with my family and we had a wonderful time! All of the food and drinks were stellar, and our server, Abby, was the sweetest! Our drinks were never empty, and the service was quick and courteous. We had the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, and THE GRONK pizza, along with The TC Special Salad, Parmesan fries and truffle sauce, Parmesan garlic wings, and bbq wings. Pizzas: 4.5/5 could use a smidge more sauce but the crust is the perfect amount of crunchy and soft. The toppings were delicious and flavorful. Salad: 5/5 crisp, delicious, and flavorful. Wings (bone in) 5/5: the sauce was delicious and the chicken was very moist. Fries 6/5: OH MY GOD. The best thing I have eaten in my entire life. Waited 20 minutes for a table on roof, only for the hostess to have not entered the phone number to notify us correctly. Then after waiting for rooftop we were seated inland with no lake view. The worst part was waiting slightly over an HOUR for food once we ordered. (Not to mention not approached for 10 min after being seated). Our server was kind, somewhat attentive and apologetic for the wait. Then we Paid $80 for very average pizza and salad. what am I missing ? I ordered a 8 inch deluxe 4 slice for $14.49. it came in a 10 inch box flung about inside with a walk to the tables next to the restaurant. ( so 130 feet?), weighed next to nothing and took up about 1/2 of a ten inch box. each slice might be about the size of a playing card . Maybe it was a 6 inch pizza maybe. Was it a good pizza? it wasn't $15 spectacular that's for sure and with every bite my mind was saying " I paid $15 bucks for this tiny thing?" Great place for a slice! They have a perfect personal size pizza if you don't want to be too stuffed when walking around town. We ate on the rooftop which has a nice little view of the Grand Traverse Bay. We got the Mushroom pizza and absolutely loved it. I've never seen so many mushrooms on a pizza and it was great! Nice crunch to the crust but not overdone with a great flavored red sauce that left us wanting more. read more

Food was terrible, service was even worse. We were sat upstairs to be waited on by the bartender (the tattooed one... rude and lazy). She took our order and we didn't see her again until my wife went and asked for the bill. We sourced our own plates and silverware as well. Zero refills on our drinks. No Parmesan cheese nor red peppers. Pizza was ordered well done... it was doughy. After receiving the tip she earned ($0) she had the audacity to proclaim loudly how busy she was as being the reason she is a terrible server, as if to blame us for our bad experience. (Note, she wasn't busy... we could see her singing and socializing the entire time). While in Traverse City, there are many dining options to choose from. Seated on the roof top and our server was M.I.A. after taking our orders. Missed the ranch we ordered with our pizza at the beginning, did not bring us silverware or plates we asked for twice as I had to go to server cart and get them. When asked why she never brought us our plates or silverware when asked a second time she just chuckled, saw three parties come in after us and leave before us when we only ordered a quesadilla and 3 small pizzas, 1 large cheese. Not worth the $94 tab in a tourist town where people would love the money, left a review via their receipt text service and never got a response on that worth. Get a better staff! read more

Stopped in for lunch this past Saturday because we noticed they had a new roof top seating area. We have been to T.C. many times but have not eaten here before. It was a beautiful day to eat outside and the roof top area was very clean. The sun shining down on us was a huge plus as the temperature was a little on the cool side. Drew was our server and he was a bundle of smiles and positive vibes. Very friendly and willing to have a conversation. Nice first impression for us. Did not feel like having pizza so we ordered a lighter lunch. We ordered a couple of soups and split a T.C. cherry salad. Soups were very good and the salad had plenty of cherries, pecans and cheese. We really came here for the view and were pleasantly surprised by the great service and the good food. Drew was just great as our server and he made the experience a lot more enjoyable. I would say this is a got to place in my book, at least in the summer. P.S.- We did see one thing that Gina R.mentioned in her review. A young mother and her toddler daughter sat at a table behind us and waited for about 10 minutes. When we got up to leave they also got up and followed us out. Great rooftop restaurant right in downtown TC. We went right at noon on Friday and it was pretty empty. There is plenty of seating on the rooftop and a decent amount inside as well. The servers were friendly and attentive. We ordered two person pizzas - the Italian and the chicken Alfredo. Both were great. The food came out super quickly and was hot. I had ordered a cauliflower crust pizza with minimal toppings but this was the only thing I had eaten the day I had eaten it. And unfortunately it wasn't a pleasant experience for me the day after. The antipasto salad is served with Italian dressing, typically I prefer it with a house vinaigrette, but I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza. Stopped by today (New Years Day) because they were one of the very few restaurants in the city that were open with seating. The wait was 1.5 hours around lunch time but we are glad we stuck around! The menu is fairly priced and we were seated in heated igloo domes on their patio. The food was okay, nothing too memorable or out of the ordinary, but the service was excellent. So I had been to Pangea's a few years ago and was not impressed, but I heard they had new management and had heard good things about the changes, so when my wife and I were deciding where to go to for my birthday tonight, we decided to give them another shot, and I'm really glad we did. We started with an appetizer of the Cheddar Bacon Fries, which we ate so fast that I forgot to get a picture. Whatever bacon they use is fantastic, nice thick bacon, the cheese sauce was good, and the fries had a kick to them, which I believe had a little bit of banana pepper in there - really good. Good portions too. For our entree we got some of the regular buffalo wings, and the 10" gluten-free Pangea's Deluxe, which I subbed out the sausage with bacon, because for some reason pork sausage bothers my stomach but not bacon which is literally from the same animal and makes no sense to me. And also - bacon, how can you go wrong? The pizza just killed it, you get this awesome smoky flavor from the stone-fired cooking, the cheese was excellent and you wouldn't think it's a big deal, but so many pizza places skimp out and use low quality cheese and it ruins the pizza, man - also, when you add bacon, they really add bacon, and I was a happy birthday boy with that. The crust, which was the gluten-free option was great too, which can be hit or miss sometimes, and had great flavor and thickness. The wings were great too, perfect coverage and the sauce was not too thin or thick and weren't greasy just good and saucy and decent level of hotness. Also I love the new layout of the restaurant and new decor. It used to seem cramped and dark, and it is now bright and open, way better ambience. DO NOT EAT HERE. Don't be lured in by the patio or friendly hostess. The staff is nice but nothing about this experience was even average. Despite it not being busy it took forever for us to have a server stop by the table even though it wasn't busy and there were plenty of servers working. First off, the food is not good. How you can make bland pizza is beyond me... Our server must have forgotten to put our food order in because tables around us got their orders way before us despite having ordered after us. While we were waiting for almost over an hour for our food (pizza) a table next to us got up and left because no one was waiting on them. Secondly, the food is NOT GOOD. It's bread, sauce, cheese and toppings. How can that be NOT GOOD? I have no idea, but it's true. To wait over an hour when you're starving for food that's not good is not how you want your restaurant experience to be. On top of it, I'm a vegetarian and specifically asked for the ham to NOT BE ON THE PIZZA. You guessed it. The pizza arrived full of ham. And when I tried to remove the ham - because by this time I wasn't sending it back - it removed ALL the cheese and other toppings. Good grief...please spare yourself. Super fresh ingredients and great pizza!!! I'm always down for pizza and am not picky, but I will say I tasted higher quality ingredients with this pizza. This was just not the pizza for us. We tried 3 different kinds between the five of us in our family, one being the gluten free option - we didn't enjoy any of them, especially for the price. We had the Loaded potato pizza, deluxe (the best of the three) and the Wild Mushroom on the GF crust. The gluten free crust pizza was also slightly burnt on the bottom. The only thing we got that was enjoyed was the Caribbean jerk fries, which my husband loved.
