I wanted to give some credit & appreciation to A+ Computers. My MacBookPro wasn't holding a charge, so wasn't running at full power, making it run sluggish on some web sights! I spoke with Apple Support & they thought it was the internal battery. I asked for recommendations on FB & A+ was suggested several times! A+ Computers did a great job, didn't try to sell me additional repair service, very up front with cost, which was very reasonable & if you give the go ahead, the diagnostic cost is refunded! I took my iMac to A Plus because it wasn't starting up. They called and said my video card was shot and not fixable. When I went to pick it up, they handed me the computer and the hard drive separately--they didn't put the hard drive back in it while the screen was removed. I wanted them to fix it, not disassemble it and give back in pieces. read more

These are busy guys, but I expected service not to take a whole week for a pretty simple problem that only had a few solutions. I was stupid enough not to test the easiest fix at home, but I assumed they would do that first then- most importantly- order and install the parts. Two weeks pass and they tell me I need a 500$ replacement part. I say, no thanks, I'll just have to deal with it. I bring it home- keep in mind, they told me specifically that it was the motherboard, and that the easy fix didn't work. On a whim I tried out that easy fix, and who would have guessed but it worked. So not only did they incorrectly diagnose the problem after two weeks, but they didn't even bother to do the simplest testing on the thing. Don't waste your time here. If you're thinking it'll be quicker than just biting the bullet and sending your laptop back to the company, you're wrong. I do give one extra star for the fact that they didn't charge me for the replacement part that didn't work, and one star for the dude that worked the counter. Nice guy. Sorry you work here read more

I stopped into the a plus on parnell today to ask about getting a new battery for my mothers laptop. Later on I found out that it was virtually impossible to get a battery from a brick and mortar store because of the thousands of different types of batteries in existence for laptops. Here I am ready and willing to order a new battery for this laptop but found that it would be far to difficult to do so from a plus computers. When I asked how long it would take, the answer was 'I dunno' and 'maybe a couple of days, maybe a couple of weeks'. When I asked how much, I got 'I dunno' and after pushing for a better answer, 'might be as much as fifty. At no point did the service guy ask me questions that would give me the impression that he wanted to help me, such as what kind of laptop is it? or may I see the battery you're holding in your hand?. Instead I felt as if I was talking to a brick wall that wanted nothing to do with me or any business that I might bring to the store. So now I find myself looking online for something that I am unsure about and will take the risk of ordering the wrong one, all because the professional acted aloof and uncaring about my problem. I understand the difficulties with getting a new laptop battery and that it might not have been a big ticket item sales-wise, but it's just good business to help with even the small things. You never know, that same customer might want a whole new gaming pc set-up one day...and now they might just go to best buy instead. read more

Horrible Experience. Brought in an iPhone 5 in with a software issue. After three hours I returned to find that they couldn't do anything for my iPhone and it was essentially bricked. After explaining that my phone was as good as a paperweight they tried to sell me a used iPhone for $350. I was extremely disappointed. I decided to get a second opinion at another computer store within the strip. They were able to completely fix the phone in 5 minutes and didn't even charge me. A Plus Computers wanted to charge me $350 to replace a phone that had a minor non-hardware issue. That's a scam. Never returning. read more

Don't go here if you have little to no knowledge of computers because the walk-in fee is insane and all of their prices are marked up way higher than other stores. I recently went to A+ computers to get a CPU heatsink and the employee treated me as if I was ignorant with what I was talking about and just acted like they didn't care about making the sale at all. read more

Made an hour trip here on a reccomendation to replace a graphics card. I always prefer to do business with independent businesses as locally as possible. I took my failing card in for reference and when I told the associate that I was looking to purchase a high end card, he insisted on arguing that what I had was not a high end card. This was not even my point. I came in with a $400 - $700 budget for a new, HIGHER end card and was driven away by a staff member who was more interested in showing how little he thought I knew than making a sale. I had no such problems with NewEgg. They were happy to take my business with nary a condescending comment. read more

TERRIBLE, USELESS SERVICE & UTTERLY UNHELPFUL ADVICE I called the office at PIne Valley thins morning to get some help with cleaning a wireless keyboard with sticky keys. The guy I spoke to didn't even listen to me just dismissed me and said they don't clean keyboards, I need to replace It. "U-S-E-L-E-S-S service"! The staff was helpful and friendly. And although there was too much damage to my laptop to fix so worked well again, they were honest. The store is packed full of new and used computers, etc. and will definitely shop there for a refurbished laptop. Felt they were trustworthy, too, which is important. read more

Horrible if I could give 0 stars I would. They charged me over $400 for a new screen (took it to another place later and was quoted $200 for the exact same part) They refused to fix their mistake. Ok for service, but don't buy anything from them - no follow up, no instruction, no help whatsoever! I was given my new laptop that I spent $1000 on with an operating system I was not familiar with and they couldn't even take the time to show me how the operating system worked. I called back with a few simple questions and was told it would be $100 an hour for them to answer my questions. Some services such as online faxing didn't work and they weren't interested in helping me figure that out either. I thought that buying from them would be better but I might as well have gone to a box store. read more

I've unfortunately have had a terrible experience with this shop. I chose them to build a custom video editing computer and from the start the black magic card they installed is not compatible with other parts of the system. I "try" to use this on live events to playback simple video files & there is always an issue. I had taken the computer back to them to correct the problems, they originally tried to say it wasn't there problem. Then they blamed it on the guy that built the system that "didn't work there anymore" then they took it & said they would call when it was fixed. Two weeks later, I end up calling to check in & am told "yea, its been here for you"....The thing still doesnt perform the way it should. read more

We took our Kindle in there to be fixed. They told us they had fixed a lot of kindles and that it would only take about five or six days to get the part and have it fixed. They also at this point quoted a price to us. A MONTH later, literally a month after we dropped it off, we finally got the call saying it was ready to be picked up. Also, we were just having the screen replaced. Nothing else was wrong, simply the screen. We go to pick it up, and they charged us 60 dollars more than what they had originally said. We got a little upset, but payed it. Before we left, we noticed the volume wasn't working at all. So we gave it to them, and they acted put out, like it was our fault that they had broke the volume. They called us the next day, and told us it was fixed. Again. We head in, and when we get it, there are big gauges in the body of the kindle, and the only way to get the volume to work was by holding down the top of the kindle, and then SMASHING the button. I asked them why that was...and he went and got the Mobile Manager. This guy then tried to tell us that we broke it, and that's the way it was when we brought it in, which it wasn't. He then took that back after he realized we weren't going to let him make stuff up, and told us that the longer we had it, the more worn down the kindle would get. We had only owned the kindle fire hdx a month before we brought it in. THEN he told us, after we said that, that once you have to repair it, it'll never be the same again. He changed his story multiple times, after trying to accuse us and get crappy with us. When we didn't back down, he would just change his story. Also, on an unrelated note, we witnessed some of the clerks being incredibly rude to people on the phone, screaming at them and almost calling them names, and in the store. Now we're at home, after just bringing the kindle home today, and there are lines all along the bottom of the screen, and places where it looks like they pressed with their thumbs and put permanent thumb prints on the scare, like dead spots. Calling tomorrow to have a go round, then I'm calling the Better Business Bureau. Do NOT go here..they are TERRIBLE to their customers, and only will half ass the work. NOT WORTH IT! read more

run-away-run-away, gave them my desktop to clean up hard drive and the computer it self. the only thing they cleaned up was 4gb of memory. it had 8gb when i dropped it off, but when i picked it up it only had 4gb. even the dust was still on the fan. read more
