My son did his road test on the weekend and failed as a result of his 1st attempt at of parallel parking as he "climbed the curb". Tester said it was an automatic fail. My understanding is you get 3 attempts at PP and I know my son is a decent PP.- Very frustrating at a $185 per road test- something not right here. read more

well I've being going to A-Plus registry for several years, doing auto lic return , business returns, and filing PPR for writ of enforcements for my businesses. Recently I had a file taxed at the Queens bench or shall I say Kings bench now. The taxation officer informed me that I was paying a lot for PPR. I did some research and found most registries charged 25 to 30 dollars. I have been paying 60. to A-Plus. I phone A- plus and asked why they were charging double everybody else. The woman on the other end informed me that there was a lot involved in filing a PPR and the government put no cap on what they can charge. I spend about 1500. a year on this firm. never again. Don't wast your money, I suspect they over charge for all their services. Double the price come on people. read more

- staff is rude - they have high surcharges for using debit/credit cards - if you choose to register your vehicle for 2 years, then they double the entire registration fee for 1 year, instead of just doubling the actual fee itself, so you have to pay the service fee twice for example: if the government portion, including their commission that the government pays them for doing the service, is $95.00/year then you should be paying $190.00 for 2 years, and then they charge you 2 transaction fees, which is what they charge you for performing the transaction, renewing your registration is only one transaction, so if the transaction fee is $25.00, they charge you $50.00 as if they are closing out the first years renewal transaction and then opening a second transaction to process the second years renewal. this doesn't happen, because it is only one transaction !!! when they enter the 2 year renewal into the government system, they simply check off the 1 year button or the 2 year button on the screen, under only one transaction with the government and for entering either 1 year or 2 years, which doesn't even take an extra mouse click, because they have to click on one of the 2 options in order to complete the single transaction, which is all done under a single transaction, so they are charging you an extra $25.00 for no extra work whatsoever !!! all of their fees for the registration and their services are also charged a 5% goods and services tax (gst) as well, which means that you are charged an extra $26.25 of which, $25.00 goes into the owners pocket !!! they also didn't have print 2 registration certificates, which saved them half the cost of registration blank forms, half of the printer ink and half of the wear and tear on their computer hardware and printers, etc !!! - after shopping around to different registry brand stores, which took me less than 5 minutes, i found a registry office closer to my home, that charged me a single $25.00 transaction fee, two years registration fees @ $95.00 each, for a total of $190.00, plus gst which added all together is $215.00 plus gst !!! a-plus registry services charges two transaction fees @ $25.00 each for a total of $50.00, two years of registration fees @ $95.00 each, for a total of $190.00 which added to the transaction fees, comes to $240.00 plus gst !!! comparing the two: - a-plus registry charges $240.00 plus 5% gst for a 2 year vehicle registration - the registry i've started using charges $215.00 plus 5% gst for a 2 year vehicle registration - a $25.00 plus gst difference for doing exactly the same amount of work !!! - over the period of a year, a-plus registry is potentially fleecing their customers ten's of thousands of dollars and more likely hundreds of thousands of dollars on 2-year registrations alone plus the added charges for using debit or credit cards for services that the government will accept plastic cards, and who knows how many people have to take a second road test to get their gdl and what other fees that they have padded up to increase their profits !!! - i don't believe that you can pay your traffic and/or parking tickets and/or fines and other penalties that the registries are authorized to collect using plastic credit or debit cards. - my usage of capital letters is strictly to emphasize important parts of my review, i am not yelling !!! i don't have a computer, just an older series smart phone. - i was a very loyal customer of a-plus registry at unit 114, 3604 - 52 avenue nw calgary, alberta, until the rudeness of the staff, the extra fees for using debit and/or credit cards and extra unfounded fees came to my attention and i couldn't justify paying more for the same services, that other registries are providing me for the legitimate rates !!! - check it out and save yourself some money and get professional service with a smile - the actual amounts are approximately what i paid based on my memory of 6 months ago. they may be slightly more or less than what i have quoted here. read more

This is the most disorganized registry I've ever been too. Walked in to do a change of address. There was 4 people working and no line up. I walked up and was told to grab a number and to sit down by a very rude lady. I looked around and advised her there was no one waiting. She abruptly told me she can't help me and to wait for the next person to assist me. I stood there for a few minutes and was then called up by a different lady. She was nice and helped me somewhat with my change of address for my license. I advised her that it's silly to expect customers to grab a number when no customers were even in the registry? She agreed! She then proceeded to tell me to come to the back for a picture. I was taken back since I was only changing my address, not doing a renewal? She then had to go chat with another employee if that's ok? So odd. Anyway she came back to tell me she charged me for a renewal and couldn't do anything about it. Because of that I had to do a new picture even though my license didn't need to be renewed and I was only here to change my address. All in all, not a great experience. Very disorganized and the staff really need more training since you shouldn't have to do a picture or renew a license? will not be back! read more

I tried to use A-Plus to renew my driver's license remotely. I phoned and was assured they could do that service for me and gave me instructions. I followed their instructions and applied by email. No one got back to me. After a week, I called them and they told me to send another email. I sent another email. This time they replied and requested money. I sent the money and never heard back. After waiting and waiting, they finally messaged me that I was probably already back in Alberta (I wasn't) and kept my money without providing the service. I'd planned to drive to Calgary from Vancouver but couldn't because my license was expired, so had to fly instead. Cost me hundreds of dollars. Very poor service. Go elsewhere. read more

During my daughter's driver's exam, the examiner texted on his apple watch with the sound on the entire time. I was appalled that he would exhibit such unprofessional behavior. I brought it up with the staff at A-Plus and they were unapologetic and couldn't have cared less. Avoid this place! I never write reviews but I couldn't let this go. My daughter booked a driving test (advanced GDL) today which she had to pay in advance. She called to change the date as our back passenger side window exploded from a rock on the QE2 yesterday. She wanted to change the date until Friday so we could get the window replaced. She was told that she could change the date, but would not be refunded any money and that she would have to pay the full amount again. This made me furious! I thought maybe this happens to them all the time. Kids cancelling appointments. They must think she is lying. So we brought the car to the registry office so they can see that she was not lying. Their only suggestion was for her to rent a car (that she is not use to) for the test. What a cash grab. I will never use this place again! read more

I opened my corporation through this registry. When I asked (several times) the price, i have been told it's $470 (for numbered corporation). I paid money and when I received the corporation bundle, there was receipt stating $428 for corporation formation fees + $42 as a sale of legal ease product. Until unless you pay, they won't give you binder, and they put receipt on the binder and once you paid there is no way to reverse it. Legal ease binder that they sell you is not worth at all, my accountant also told me that it is ripoff from A-plus registry. Now I feel I am being cheated because upon asking they never mentioned that $428 is price of opening up incorporation and $42 is for legal ease binder. It's pure cheating and rip off. I inquired the same thing, same way in other registries and I have been told prices separately. I own business too but making money like this is totally not acceptable so please beware opening up incorporation here....go somewhere else!!! spending $42 on legal ease booklet should have been totally my choice and I am not binded legally to purchase it from you (and it doesn't come with it when you register your business) or at all whatsoever so please change your business practices...One registry called Registries plus in Northeast is the best if you ever want to incorporate your business read more

I was in last week to get some registrations done and seen two clerks literally being very unprofessional, fighting and screaming at each other in front of everyone. One of them I believe is the supervisor or manager there since I have dealt with her previously, (She is tall, short hair and wears glasses). The other one I believe could be new she had long blond hair. It was an actual "cat fight" in this business place. There was a lady that came in from the back room and said something to both of them. My daughter took a road test here yesterday. The result was a failure. I'm sure her driving was the cause. I am not dissatisfied with the result, I am dissatisfied with the attitude of the instructor during the test. My daughter is still a child at the age of 16. The first road test and the first time for her to drive with another person. Although it wasn't normal, the instructor repeatedly yelled "Oh my god" from the beginning to the end and kept putting pressure on her to an excessive extent. I don't think she will be able to drive at her best in such a situation. I think it's good to be careful not to get nervous. I can't understand why and how much pressure was applied. Will she drive in such tension in the future? I'm not there yet. What does he think of himself? Do you think you have the right to put such pressure and make herfeel uncomfortable? Finally he even unplugged the power cable of the drive recorder on my car. Is there anything to do with the test? What was he going to do if he breaks the cable without hesitation? I think he turned off the power because he thought the voices would be recorded. All of his actions said that put too much strain on her. I will never take a test here again and I will never recommend here to anybody. read more

don't waste your time going here went in to renew my registration 7 people working in the office at the time I was there 2 actually doing anything (helping customers) the other 5 seemed to find other things to do 2 having conversations with each other non work related I was close enough to hear. 2 decided it was a nice time to take a break and the rest decided to pretend the line up is not getting longer and longer took 20 minutes for someone to finally notice there is by now a really long line up of people. reading other reviews about road tests there on google seems like the place overall is the place to avoid .. read more

Great registry! Staff was very efficient and friendly. Even though there were lots of people waiting for service, you pick a number and before I knew it, it was already my turn. Noticed that staff could even serve in other languages. Parking was easy and close to the door. Right off Memorial Dr on 52nd ave so easy to get to.
