The crew did a fantastic job. My wife and I are really happy from sales pitch, to finish. We took three job quotes and took the mid range price. The sales briefing Alex gave us was professional, detailed and he answered all our questions. Communication with him throughout the process was excellent. Now we have expensive Leaf Filters! We made it known that if anything happened to them during installation...we wanted them to be immediately repaired. Alex, wrote that addendum right into the contract on the spot. Some of the other contractors stepped around the issue which was a major problem for us. Thankfully, the crew didn't damage the gutters (that my son and I could detect) and they appear to have made it through the process. The crew arrived early and did a fantastic job. They repaired decking sections that needed (they didn't overlook it and keep going), took care not to trample my wife's plants. It was very windy today but they policed up all the debris to the last nail. The job was precise and looked beautiful. The crew was also very professional and polite. Sent estimate/service request via their website form and got not call back for days. Called and was told they thought they called. That should have been a sign, but I made an appt anyway. Their roofer came and patched roof and said it would last, but he'd send estimate just in case. I asked him to send pics of what he discovered on roof as well to show spouse and he said ok. He never texted photos and never sent estimate. Roof stopped leaking for a few weeks and started again. I called back and spoke to Service Mgr who said she would talk to roofer that came out and patched roof. She confirmed my phone number and email. That was 9/30/24 and today is 10/10/24, she never called back or sent estimate. A-Plus? Not quite. They may do good work, but I'll never know. Customer Service is a D-Minus. read more

A company can demonstrate their excellence, not just by doing superlative work, but also how they deal with "problems". That is the case with A Plus. They did a wonderful job on our roof over two years ago. There has been an issue with a pesky leak somewhere around the chimney. I have called and they have always responded quickly. I thought the problem was solved. Now ( again, two years have passed) in having some carpeting replaced, we found some dampness in the floor that abuts that chimney. I called Howard who called me back in literally minutes and is now arranging to have a service person come out and find the source if that leak. UPDATE TWO YEARS LATER: I would now, unfortunately, drop a star or two from the rating if I could. Just had my roof looked over by a company specializing in slate roofs, recommended by a friend and highly-spoken of on Nextdoor. The gentleman explained that my exposed metal, both the copper and galvanized, is bare--in need of expensive-per-foot repainting--and must have been that way for years. This necessarily would include back when A-Plus was here (and earlier, when I purchased the house). Left bare, the slate interacts with bare metal and degrades it until nothing stops water. I am disappointed that A-Plus did not inform and educate me about this, nor offer some type of plan for future repairs. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Totally embarrassed that this review wasn't done way back when the work was. Coupla' years back, was new to the area, had just bought my slate-roofed house, and got more verification during the first hard rain that money pit acquisition is one of my giI learned that lots of roofers don't repair slate, and that many who do charge the very high rates that only monied people can afford. Luckily, I was referred to A-Plus. A Plus is staffed with people committed to moral values and a strong work ethic, and their prices are within a real person's budget. My repairs were done professionally and quickly by two very personable gentlemen. We have been working to get our gutters repaired for no less than six months with a plus roofing. When we bought our home a year ago, this company had repaired at the front gutter prior to our purchase. Soon after moving in we realized the rest of the gutter system needed to be repaired. We contacted A+ to complete the job. It took forever to repair the other three sides of gutters, only to find that now the gutter in the front of the home was leaking. It took several months to get the job finished, During which time the leak in the front of the house was damaging our concrete overlay on our front steps. Additionally a one left their equipment in our backyard during this several months delay. Last week, they finally came to complete the job and remove their equipment. This morning we find a waterfall coming out of the left corner of our house from the gutter. I have put in a call and asked for a call from the owner -- we will see if they make this right. read more

We had a new roof and gutter system installed in September of 2021. Alex Brock our salesmen and point of contact was excellent through out the process. We purchased the whole set up from a new gutter system with gutter guards, ridge vent for the house and garage. They even were willing for a small fee to remove the roof off of a lean-to that I will repair myself.(due to the sloop i will replace with metal). I did have a few small issues with the gutter system but they were addressed quickly and to my satisfaction. Over all I couldn't be more satisfied with the whole process. read more

Getting a roof replaced is never something you look forward to doing. But due to hail damage, it became necessary. At first, the insurance company rejected our claim. But with the knowledge I gained from Howard at A Plus, I got them to reassess and it was determined that it would be replaced. It is a pleasure to work with a true professional. Roofs are one part of the house that is hard to tell you have a problem until water penetrates. We had a hail storm and did not know that our shingles were damaged until one of our neighbors had water coming thru their second floor ceiling. He had a great experience with Bill Kain from A+Roofing, so I call and he came to inspect our roof, and sure enough extensive damage. We called our insurance company and they sent their adjuster/claim specialist who was not sure about how extensive the damage was...so he agreed to meet and inspect the roof together with Billy and guess what...our insurance company replaced the entire roof for us and A+Roofing installers did a great job...during a week of intensive heat. buyer beware!!! my roof was completed 3/5/2020.... good work performed; however i cannot stress enough to do your research and homework! get your own inspection and verify all extra cost and worked performed prior too.... have your workers show you proof of so called extra cost items.. i was over charged for wood replacement luckily i took my own pictures for my own reference and my invoice was padded to up-charge me for a vent (upgraded modification only required for a manufacture warranty which i did not purchase) i did not request or approve of this should be changed on the contract as a box to check by the customer to agree that added amount of $420.00 is acceptable and customer wishes to buy the warranty !!!!. work was great otherwise i worked with howard who also advised during quote that this would be a supervised work site which it was not. the workers were great no complaints they were punctual read more

We recently met with the General Manager and owner of this roofing company. They also sell gutters and other house exterior related products. It felt like the hard sell, but this was not unique. After reviewing a few competitors and deciding to believe what the two seemingly qualified individuals from A Plus told us, we moved forward with our costly roof replacement. There was NO communication once our deposit check was received. With a leaky roof, it took two days for work to begin...and they spent a day replacing the section with no leak... then another day of torrential raln without so much as a tarp...then finally the rest of the roof. After MANY PROMISES regarding clean up and quality, we came home to nails and shingles in muddy pits in our yard, dirt and debris on our furniture and floors where skylights were removed, and again...no communication....until the job was done. Literally 30 min after the van pulled out of the driveway our General Manager was calling looking for final payment. As if the bad experience wasn't enough...we were left with a pile of leftover materials in our driveway - in two different places. 5 days passed before they were removed ... by the owner. read more

Okay...it's time to seriously applaud our roofers. They did a stellar job. A Plus Roofing, Ashland, VA. If you need a roof, or a roof repair-use them. We got Bill Kain's name off of the Montpelier Resident's Facebook page actually...thanks to those who recommended him! He came to see us, visited with us and spoke with us about the process and options. I loved that he was clear about how great his company ratings and reviews were. He's very proud of that fact. It was reassuring. It was very clear to us upon first meeting that this was a man of integrity and reputation, without a doubt. Showed us examples of work on a tablet, spoke of satisfied clients with complete assurance. First day, they replaced a back window and those guys were great. And then next the team tackled the roofing, over a day and a half. Super sweet guys, happy, engaged, smiling and soooooo neat! They laughed and talked as they worked. Music played. The whole experience felt happy and easy. They were so careful of my planters and gardens, careful of not leaving a spec of any trash anywhere, even used the leaf blower to get rid of any small pieces off the path. All my New England Asters are blooming along the house and they had to get there to have access to that part of the roof. They thoughtfully came in from the side and did their very best to only trample a 2' wide swath close to the house, where it cannot even be seen. It took a lot of effort and consideration to do that and it fills my heart that they tried that hard to be careful of my flowers. When they filled the trailers with all the old roof materials, again, they were diligent in not leaving garbage anywhere. And so now we have a lovely new, intact roof, done by experienced, professional, nice, careful folks that made us feel really good about the whole experience.
