My lord! Did they use tar paper with gold weave, or shingles made with Kevlar?? We had another estimate completed the following day; the price was less than the first, but the gentleman wanted to do a complete "Dog and Pony Show" presentation afterwards. Sorry, but I had to cut the first guy off from his song and dance saga early, and I didn't want another high-pressure sales attempt-- he wasn't too pleased, but he did email me the paperwork the following morning. I was totally prepared for yet a third turgid screed titled, "Our Roof Is Better Than Their Roof!" from anyone coming down the pike, but I'm happy to say that I didn't have that issue with C. L. Wright Roofing! Let me first say I'm not one to write reviews on every little thing, and I'm not trying to blow a ray of sunshine up anyone's pant leg with this one- they did a darn fine job, and they deserve a darn good review! Here is the service breakdown: * The gentleman arrived on time and was polite, with a no-nonsense attitude- being a veteran, I like that! * Within about thirty-five to forty minutes, he had a written estimate in my hand. It had a everything covered: the shingles, paper, the water damaged soffit and hosed gutter that need to be replaced, and a damaged 4' x 8' plywood board that was bad; (we were aware of these before hand) he also noted that the skylight that provided some daytime light to the attic was broken and leaking! Noted on the estimate was that other plywood pieces could be water damaged, and we'd be advised if anymore needed replacing and gave the price of each piece upfront. I did go to the main office and picked out a shingle color; Jo Anne was very helpful, and I was on my way in no time. * The crew arrived on time on the date stated a few weeks later; they were polite, and cleaned up the small stuff as they went. No cigarette butts or personal trash was ever noted, either. * The project was completed on the second day, and the supervisor arrived later that evening. He did a sweep of the property, picking up any remaining rouge construction trash or wrapping, then used a magnetic roller to pick up any nails or metal debris. Afterwards, my wife and I did a walk around the property with him making sure all was good to go-- and it was! The final cost: $6,700.00 That's a far call from the other companies! I've never had a business not stand by their estimate. That's why an estimate has a high figure. If you underestimate you eat the difference and be more careful in the future. He did share useful advice on roofing as I had originally planned to do it myself which I now will return to doing. Can not recommend. Edit: Individual called shortly after this post angry over review. I stated we had agreed upon an estimate. He stated that he thought he was using my material which is untrue. I have three tab shingles but prior to him leaving we agreed upon architectural shingles that would match the house. I offered the roofing paper I had purchased. He declined stated he would have his man bring his own. Thus it was quite clear they would be suppying all materials. Standard Roofing also implied I should have known about the cost because of YouTube. Really??? YouTube qualifies one to be a Roofer and Roofing rep? I guess we home owners can save thousands by watching a few 10 minutes videos. One star removed for unprofessional behavior. Definitely can not recommend. The below response by Standard Roofing is simple damage control due to a bad estimate they obviously will not honor. Sir my skills are advanced handyman and I also put the roof of that shed which your man complimented. As for materials AGAIN to be clear the individual was quite clear on what was to done and how yet chose not to alter the estimate. As for the mateial you mention step flashing is less than a $1 a piece. This job requires only a few. Your man stated drip protection is not needed as he pointed out Standard Roofing put none on our house. Architectural shingles only cost $44/bundle. So yes I know what it costs and your $3500 quote holds no water besides the cost we home owners see is not the DISCOUNT you get so my adding it up is simply an attempt deflection and yet another untruth by Standard Roofing. Your man made a mistake. You could have easily corrected it by standing by your estimate. Let it go.

They worked all day on a Saturday to get ahead of a serious rainstorm forecast for the next day. In addition, they also replaced the flashing under an exterior door along with some adjacent siding. As often happens, they discovered and fixed some additional problems while doing these repairs, such as a small fix to skylight flashing that (hopefully) solved a leak that wasn't even on their original scope of work. The final cost was only a little more than their original estimate (very reasonable). We were very impressed with AHE's communication and work ethic. We plan to use them again for other work on our aging wood siding house.

I had a large front porch aggregate floor replaced with brick but it was a much bigger project than they later admitted they usually do. This caused me a lot of frustrations: 1) They didn't spend much time reviewing project. They didn't give me a written quote. 2) Once the front porch was opened up more tuck pointing & fill was needed to fill the opening so they wanted $3000 more than verbal quote they gave me to continue work. 3) Told me no subs used when in-fact actual brick layer was a subcontractor. 4) I personally rejected some of the brick they got from Shade & Wise but they didn't like it and bricklayer slipped some in on the job when I wasn't looking. 5) They chipped off a large corner of base of column holding roof up and wouldn't fix it - so I have to fix myself. 6) Said they will guarantee their work (nothing in writing) but in 15 years will they be around and remember? In summary my experience with ProForce wasn't a walk in the park as too many unknowns they should have foreseen as they are the experts - not me. Michael appeared vocally to be concerned about my disappointments of the chipped base corner but didn't resolve or correct. Throughout the project I had to be at site to figure out what was going on and make sure I was getting a quality job. My suggestion is don't assume anything if you hire them and don't be timid or hesitant in getting your questions answered. It's your money and your house.
