I checked this place out last weekend and I was impressed with the abundance of food and drinks that are included with the AYCE offer. At A-Pot, you're not only getting the usual options of meat, veggies, and seafood for your hot pot and grill-- you're also hooked up with a variety of sushi, sashimi, and deep fried food to fill up your plates with. I liked that their sauce bar is filled with ample options of sauces to mix and match whatever suits your tastebud's needs for the day/occasion. For our group, we loved the house special sauce to go with the grilled meat. What also wowed me was that they had a fridge filled with delicious milk tea/iced teas that you can take as part of your meal. I loved the Thai tea-looking drink as well as the passion fruit tea. Some people in our group also had taro and loved it. As for dessert, I love that they have a buffet section dedicated for sweets as well as a fridge full of single-serving ice cream cups. Of all the flavors, I tried their coffee ice cream and it was really good. Since our group was one of the first to dine there for the day, food was still pretty fresh when we arrive. The interior is spacious and designed like a typical buffet, so I guess there isn't much to write home about for ambience. Service was pretty ok, but we had to flag down the servers to change our grill pans and refill our hot pot broth every once in a while. Overall, I'd say you get the bang for your buck here. Went for lunch today to this restaurant. Very clean inside and had quite a variety of cooked Chinese foods and a variety of meats to cook in a choice of broth or on their grill at your table. Prices reasonable and only $0.99 for soft drinks! For was decent. I wish they had an upgrade to Waygu meats for higher quality but they didn't. Be prepared for at least two hours as you have to cook your own food. The service could be better. The waitresses were congregating together and talking and not paying attention to their customers. Their English is not so good and their menu needs to be properly translated as there were grammar mistakes. They should hire a professional to translate. A-Pot is a combination of a small Chinese buffet and KBBQ/Hot Pot. The whole restaurant is buffet style, so they have some hot foods, sushi, desserts, and for the KBBQ and Hot Pot, you go and pick your food items, and there is a sauce bar. You only have to order the broth from your server for the Hot Pot portion. I personally do not like Hot Pot, so I opted out of that option but still had to pay the same price as my friends who got the Hot Pot part too. I found the meat was less quality compared to other KBBQ places - I almost enjoyed the sushi more, but I came for the KBBQ. Service was friendly, and they are located in a plaza with parking. I have been to different Korean BBQ spots and can tell you this place is a health hazard waiting to happen. On top of that the food is absolutely disgusting. My girlfriend and I decided to switch up from our usual Korean BBQ spot (K-Pot in South Philly) and it was a huge mistake. To begin the food is sitting out buffet style and the meat looked like it was sitting out all day. The Tom Yum tasted like spicy tomato soup and although it wasn't horrible, it was not good. The meat when cooked on the grill was terrible, it was dry and just looked unpleasant like I said as if it was sitting out all day. While we were eating the soup my girlfriend found a giant piece of plastic in her broth. I alerted my server he then alerted management and management told us it was from the crab. Mind you we didn't get any crab. I even picked up the plastic and tried biting into it and ripping it with my hands, it did not rip but she insisted it was from the crab that neither of us got. I explained that it is a choking hazard and if this would've been eaten and swallowed, my girlfriend would have choked. She apologized and that was it. Did not take it off the bill and showed very little accountability. We paid almost $100 for disgusting food, I am beyond angry. (See picture of the plastic found) Upon leaving me and my girlfriend felt sick, our stomachs have been turning for the last hour. I regret not turning around after seeing the layout of the food. I would not recommend this place to anyone in fear they will get sick. I cannot even BEGIN to describe how happy I was to hear that there was a Korean BBQ buffet like this, right around the corner from my best friend's house. It meant less driving over bridges in order to get the good stuff! Although I'm not the best at cooking on the table's hot plates, I found the hotpot side of everything to be fabulous. I personally chose the Herbal broth, and then went up to the buffet to grab a few items and sauces. I added some flavoring to my pot, and then let it simmer with various dumplings thrown into it, before the real insanity began. I couldn't tell you how many items went into that bubbling heaven, only that by the time I was done, almost every drop was gone. We couldn't move. The two of us had probably tucked away five pounds of dumplings, beef bulgogi, ramen, octopus, enoki mushrooms (which my friend has an absolute love for), and finally sushi. While the sushi-side wasn't a 10/10, I was so distracted by the rest of the buffet that it seemed like mere bonus points at the end of the night. I hadn't even noticed it was there initially, to be honest, and the place would've been perfect even without. I certainly wasn't going to complain about having a couple rolls though, just to top off the night. This is probably going to be my new favorite hangout spot, whenever I can get a free moment with a nice group of people. read more

Dine in | Dinner | $30-50 Once you try authentic Korean bbq-hotpot, you immediately know when the quality is bad when you venture away to try a new place. If I could give the food at this establishment zero stars, I absolutely would. From the moment I stepped inside, something felt off, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt--big mistake. After my meal, I barely made it outside before violently throwing up. My Fiance had to stay back and wait for the waitress to come back with the bill. The culprit? My guess is the so-called "raw" section, which is an absolute health hazard. The raw meats--beef, chicken, and seafood--are displayed on ice under bright, unforgiving lights, yet somehow, they're lukewarm to the touch. The beef was visibly oxidized, turning an unappetizing brown instead of the fresh red or pink it should be. That alone should have been my warning to leave, but unfortunately, I stayed. My Fiance made the comment about the smell first actually. The moment the meat hit the grill, an overwhelming stench filled the air, a mix of burning, possibly spoiled meat and the unpleasant, murky aroma of the hot pot. It was enough to make my stomach churn before I even took a bite. The only remotely edible thing I had were the wontons, but let's be real--I'm not about to drop $30 just for a few decent dumplings .....and a nice waitress. I mostly stuck to the raw sushi but even that made my stomach hurt. Raw food should not be left out in the open. The fact that this place was even recommended to me is baffling. I called for a refund after my stomach settled and the charge was no longer pending. Rather than addressing my experience, they repeatedly insisted that no one else had ever complained about their food, as if that invalidated what happened to me. They insinuated that I didn't know how to cook raw food properly and asked if I ate raw food directly from the bins (chicken, shrimp pork). I informed them I have been to many Korean barbecue restaurants, I'm aware of how to cook, and I have not gotten sick like this before. I also stated that I primarily ate raw sushi that was also out in the open under warm lights. Although the signs around the store said to cook beef for a good two minutes and seafood for a little bit more or less than that, I kept the food on the grill until I felt it was cooked all the way through, at least 8 min. I timed it. My fiancé also made comments to other patrons about the amount of time the signs posted around the restaurant said to cook the food. This also goes for the hot pot. I remained respectful throughout the 20-minute conversation and even expressed that I was glad no one else had gotten sick. However, they refused to take responsibility, leaving me no choice but to request a chargeback through my bank. I would have much preferred for the restaurant to handle this situation professionally, but their lack of accountability and dismissive attitude were disappointing. I hope they take food safety more seriously in the future. *** I am not sure if this is a necessary note, but the restaurant page on Apple maps says pets are allowed which is a big red flag. I'm glad other people had good experiences but that does not mean everyone will have one. I hope this does not happen to anyone else read more

Since my daughter-in-law is Korean and my son lived in Korea for years, and have been to Korea myself, I do know what good Korean food should be. First impression was of a clean and attractive environment, plenty of seating, seemed well organized and extensive variety of food. Food was excellent, authentic. Staff very friendly. Prices reasonable. Apart from sit-down, this restaurant also does take-out where you get a container, full it with whatever you want, and pay by the pound which I believe is good value.
