We had several contractors come out to our house and talk with us about our plan to add 700 square feet. We were going to add a family room and turn a small bedroom with a bathroom into a large master. Of all the contractors Roberto Ramos stood out for a number of reasons. He was prompt in getting back to us with an estimate, more than I can say about the others. He was personable, patient and seems to listen well with a desire to accommodate the customer and give them what they want. He welcomed all questions graciously. He offered some good ideas and suggestions but isn't imposing...always respectful. I say all of this and have given him a 5 rating, without having him do any work for us. It turns out, we changed our minds on doing the addition for several reasons, not having anything to do with Roberto and his company. So, although we didn't have them do any work, I was impressed enough to write this review. The professionalism we experienced with Roberto, gave me confidence that if we had decided to move forward with the project, I believe it would have been a pleasure working with him. We had an insurance claim(full disclosure), we called A Ramos Construction, Gonzalo came out right away, was great, assured us he would handle it from start to finish, even used the word many times, " Family". Gonzalo was very responsive every time we called or text him, showed up to check on the insurance paperwork(his family lives two streets down). Then the estimate comes in from A Ramos Construction, submitted to the insurance company and they were shocked, as was I. Once Gonzalo and Roberto saw the insurance company was looking at their estimate line for line, we stopped hearing from Gonzalo, didn't respond to our phone calls or text messages. So, if they don't get their over inflated number them will go MIA. We ended up finding a great contractor that was able to do everything we wanted for 30,000 less than A Ramos. Anyone want info on the contractor please message me. I'll be doing a 5 star review on them soon as the job is completed. read more

Recently we had a problem with one of our badrooms, Roberto, the owner took care of us. , he responded to our call immediately, even though it was after business hours, he came to our house that night, he was so professional knowledgeable and honest,,he put a temporary stop to leakage that night.. The problem was internal, due to old pipes, our badroom had to be re-done, the results were above and beyond expected,,excellent work..all materials he used are high quality,,our badroom looks amazing.. thank you, next project will be the kitchen look forward to work with your company again...happy to refer family and friends . This review is solely based on my experience requesting a bid. I called Roberto mid morning and he was at my house later that same afternoon which was great! He was prompt and he even had booties to cover his work boots and protect my carpet. That might not seem like a big deal to some but I've had several contractors arrive with dirty work boots and no booties. Roberto was detailed in explaining the renovation process to my husband and I and he gave a brief history of his work experience which I appreciated. He took the appropriate measurements and provided the quote within a couple of days. Although the bid was more than we were willing to pay, overall it was a decent experience. read more

This is for work done in January 2014. I had a review here before, but it got taken down. A Ramos construction re did all or windows and doors. Back then we were in a drought and did not get any rain for over a year. As soon as the rain started we had 1 window start leaking. We have just noticed our second window downstairs having a leak. Not to mention 2 of our window sills that they replaced have come off. We tried contacting them, but since it was over a year later we got no answer. I would be glad to change this review if they could contact me through yelp to repair the work. read more

After several attempts at trying to get a quote from a local handyman service to build an awning and deck (I waited for 2 months and never received a quote nor a phone call), a friend recommended A. Ramos Construction, and I am happy that he did. I contacted Roberto, the owner, in the morning and he met with me that afternoon. I gave him the specs that I wanted and he came back to me within a few days with a very fair, reasonable quote, and timeframe for completion. Work was started quickly and on time - when Roberto says he will start at 7am - he is there with his crew. He is totally reliable and explained everything that he was going to do - always giving me options and making sure I was pleased. His work is impeccable, as he always pays special attention to detail. He takes pride in his work, as if he is working on a structure for his own home. We had our house done by Ramos a few years ago. He replaced all our windows, fixed our garage door, front door and doors throughout the home. He also replaced flooring in the kitchen, living and family room. Ramos seemed very professional, but the people who he hired seemed like they were being taught for the first time on what to do. The flooring has fallen apart since then except for the kitchen tile. This was also during the long drought. Sure enough over a year later when we finally got rain, water came through one of the windows and ruined the sill. Unfortunately the drought hid the issue with the window that the rain exposed. Another problem is the metal under our garage door is sticking out which can easily hurt someone's foot if the door accidentally hits it and it has. The moulding around the interior door was cheap and has fallen off! That is just a few of the things that have gone wrong since then. read more
