It was a good blend of teaching us how to care and maintain the terrarium/air plant, as well as playing with the various materials to decorate our terrarium. He helped each of us craft a terrarium that perfectly suited our aesthetic and personalities. My brother took me and my family here for a succulent class for my birthday. Adam, the store owner, was a warm and welcoming host, and not only did he lead us in designing some beautiful succulent arrangements, but he taught us tips on how to keep them alive! Cute, vintage and home garden shop along El Camino in San Bruno, away from the hulabaloo of Downtown San Bruno and Tanforan. Run by 3 friendly and knowledgable siblings: Adam, Jason, and Michelle. Each has their own specialty/focus within the shop, but they are fun to chat with! I recently went to attend the Yelp Art of Entertainment event, where I made a mini-succulent garden, with the guidance from all 3 siblings. Not only was the workshop fun, but it was interesting to learn about the history of the shop and their garden. I'm looking forward to future workshops (i.e. terraniums and air plants). First review! My girlfriend booked a workshop with this shop and it ended up being just us two which was nice. It enabled us a lot of freedom to do what we want with the supplies they had. The instructor was really informative and helpful. Provided interesting facts and whatnot about the plants. If your creative juices are lackluster like mine, he is always there to help with design and color suggestions. I recommend this to anyone wanting to get started on a terrarium! my girlfriend and I really enjoyed the workshop. Side note - parking differs with the time of day, so just be prepared! First off, Adam was wonderful to work with. I was looking to book a workshop for an event at work and he was communicative, responsive, and friendly throughout the booking process. He helped make the process super smooth, which I definitely appreciated! And then, on the day of the workshop, everything went super well that now I totally recommend everyone else book one ASAP! At the beginning of the workshop, Adam gave a short introduction of how to take care of air plants and gave us some quick tips on how to arrange and build a terrarium. This was super helpful as a guide for our entire team to learn how to do it right. The materials he brought were also so beautiful and high quality. Dried flowers, air plants, sea shells sourced from Hawaii, dried moss - all sorts of natural materials and you can tell a lot of love went into making sure we had quality materials to use. Throughout the workshop, Adam was a great creative consultant, giving us all great tips and pointers on how to beautifully craft our terrariums. At the end of the workshop, I was blown away by how beautiful everyone's creations were! Now I'm super excited every morning when I get to my desk and see the awesome terrarium gracing my desk! First we learned how to take care of the plants with water, sunlight and positioning. Stopped by this place with a friend of mine. They carry a huge variety of merchandise that I definitely look forward to purchasing (when I can afford my own home, hehe). We were greeted right away and they encouraged us to look around for some good deals The layout of the store is pretty interesting. It's very inviting and "flows" well. You have to look high and low for that perfect "treasure" you will be dying to take home. (It's totally different from traditional stores that keep all the expensive stuff on one corner, behind glass cabinets where the employees don't give you any service unless you look like you can afford it). These guys aren't pushy and just encourage you to look at any item you are interested in. Oh, if you don't find anything you like (highly unlikely, but it could happen), you can ask them and they are more than happy to look into it for you. Such a find! This little gem is such a delight to visit. A perfect combination of crafty goods, succulents and air plants, terrariums (and supplies for them, should you like to make your own), vintage and antique finds and best of all two brothers with an eye for amazing pieces. I went here today, was promptly welcomed and milled around for a looong time. There is so much to look at and the owners are so friendly (and not pushy, one of my favorite qualities in a shop owner), you couldn't possibly take it all in in one visit. So many great pieces! Inspiration struck while shopping and I ended up creating an air plant wreath in the shop. They gave me some great advice and instagramed my final creation! Great find, thanks to Yelpers. Came in to check out whether they would have air plants for terrariums and was pleasantly surprised. Not only by their selection but also the decor. There is much more here than just a "nursery and gardening" shop. This little family run shop is filled with little gifts and trinkets and some great paintings to help decorate your home. I'll definitely be frequenting this place, now that I know they are here, close to home, and knowledgeable in terrariums. I love the Garden Home! I came because I was in the market for a handmade terrarium, and the Garden Home has the best selection in the Bay Area. But they also have an amazing, curated selection of antiques--everything from beautiful, one-of-a-kind wardrobes to really unique lamps to smaller pieces like serving bowls and dishes. They also sell air plant arrangements--I bought one that incorporated a found piece of ocean driftwood. And the shop owners were kind enough to give me instructions for air plant care! This is my go-to whenever I need to buy a unique housewarming, wedding, shower, or mother's day gift (my mom loved the mid-century modern coaster set I bought her). A friend told me about this place a couple years ago but I only got around to checking it out recently! I wasn't disappointed though - there were some charming vintage items, air plants, succulents, and some cute, unique terrarium supplies.
