I was back in town, so I decided to stop in for lunch again. I liked the mussels marinara appetizer. so much last time I decided to have that again. For an appetizer, it was a lot of food! For my soup, this time, I ordered a cup of the minestrone. The soup was delicious, lots of great flavor, and those Mussels with that sauce/gravy were just as good as before, as was the large slice of garlic bread Unfortunately, my partner was home, not feeling well, and couldn't have lunch with me So, she asked me to bring her something. I got her the chicken ,Marsala with linguine, and she also got the minestrone. She really enjoyed her meal. There was a lot of food, and she said that both the tender chicken and mushrooms, and perfectly Al dente pasta were delicious! The wine sauce was delectable. . She's a light eater, but still ate over half. She still has plenty left over for later. I also got her a couple of Boylan cane sugar sodas, a cream soda and a black cherry soda. She said that they were amazing! The price for everything was very reasonable, and again I got the military/veterans discount. We will be back. We would love to order delivery from this place, but unfortunately, they do not do delivery, not even with any of the online delivery platforms. Old school classic type of place. Very reasonable prices, fresh homemade made eggplant rollatini (you can tell by the fresh baby spinach leaves in it). Pizza was ok, nothing special. Totally like the Italian restaurants you grew up with in the 70s-90s if you are from the northeast. Nice to have lots of food, full bar, pleasant service and not break the bank. I am "ethnic" looking but found everyone friendly - it does have that neighborhood "Cheers" vibe, where there seem to be a lot of regulars. Young people may find that off putting whereas I think that's a good thing. read more

We had a group of 13, it was a little hectic for the servers, but they did well. Food was really good and we had enough for lunch the next day. Nit one complaint from anyone in our group. The Food is amazing. Wonderful pizza and extraordinary garlic knots. Back when my father and I lived in Lake Katrine we would order from them often. And the one time the quality wasn't great we got a free dinner the next we ordered from them, adding to their amazing service. The workers there are good and kind people. As for the ambiance, we don't go there to eat at the bar, we always ordered out and ate at home, but it's still a wonderful restaurant. And they constantly try to keep their prices low, but their food is too good to pass up if they did increase. read more

Went to dinner here last week. Food was great! The meal showed up fast. But without a doubt, our waitress Tammy stole the show. She is attentive and friendly. Once she gets a feel for you, her amazing sense of humor comes out! Think of a comedy show where the audience is part of the act! I enjoyed a good meal at "A slice of Italy ". I ordered take out of eggplant Parmesan. I got the dinner version. The dinner comes with a salad and bread. Let's start with the bread. It was good. That covers it. As for the salad, in a to go container it looked like there wasn't much in there but actually it was a fair amount. A nice variety of fresh iceberg lettuce, a pepper, a single slice of tomato and black olives. Covered it with their Italian dressing making it overall a good salad. We all appreciate a fresh salad. Onto the main entrée, eggplant Parmesan. They certainly give you plenty of it. You're given a choice of pasta so I went with angel hair. The angel hair was perfectly El Dante, just as it should be. You don't get a lot of sauce so if I was dining in I definitely would've ordered more. The sauce is it sweet or tangy just decent. The eggplant was cooked very well but unfortunately you don't get a lot of that either. But it was tasty. Overall I found this to be a very good restaurant for eggplant Parmesan. read more

We were in the area fir a wedding and arrived late in the evening. We were surprised at how many restaurants closed at 8p but thanks to my fellow Yelpers, we found the Slice of Italy which was still open and conveniently located across the street from the hotel. My wife ordered the Frenchdip sandwich with chips. She said the sandwich was rep good and that the bread was exceptionally good. I had the Buffalo chicken Parmesan sandwich with a side order of onon rings. The chicken Parmesan was excellent with just the right amount of Buffalo seasoning. We ordered in advance for pick up from this great restaurant! My husband arrived as the bubbling pizza was being removed from the ovens! The crust of the pizza was crunchy and delicious - just perfect! We had a 1/2 cheese 1/2 veggie and then a meatball mushroom and onion pizza. Both were Amazing! I picked up some salads, wings and two pizzas from Slice of Italy, to have at the hotel on the eve before my daughter's wedding. When I got to the restaurant, they were literally pulling the pizzas out of the oven. The cheese was still bubbling when they closed the boxes. I was psyched for an outstanding experience. By the time I got to the hotel - right across the street - laid everything out and began eating, it was as if someone pulled a switcheroo. The toppings were great, especially the mixed veggie, but the crust unfortunately had wilted. I can understand if there was a long delay between pick-up and dining, but this was only over a span of about 15 minutes, so I was disappointed in that. The wings were big and cooked well. So I've been hearing great things about this place, and unfortunately my friends and I were more about pizza and wine in Thursday night, not an entree, so that's what we did. Ordered a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc, pretty decent, and I got the Ang's Special Fig pizza...omg! So delicious. Wow! Another great find. Recommended by our hotel and right next door. Super friendly service as we were seated right away. Ordered a bottle of wine and settled in. Loosen your belt cause this was a good one. The salad was delish and the bread fresh and nice crunchy crust. Ravioli was wonderful and marinara sauce perfect accompaniment. The star of this show was the veal parmigiana. Cut it with a fork and melted in your mouth. Penne pasta was perfect Aldente and marinara sauce here as well. So much food. Walked out stuffed. We phone ordered large house salad and x-large fig pizza for pick up. The foods were ready in 25 minutes as promised. The salad came in two containers and the pizza was huge. My family of four could only finished one container of salad and left 2 slices of pizza for breakfast. The sad was fresh and the house Italian dressing was very tasty. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! This place went over and above my expectations! I used to live in Kingston, and still have family there. When I called to place and order for my sisters birthday I mentioned could they please write happy Birthday from your favorite sister on the inside on the pizza box. Well, they did that times two and then on a birthday happy hat for the Chocolate cake I ordered for her! Way to go the extra mile! The girl on the phone- I wish I got your name so that I could say a proper thank you, but just know I'm so overwhelmingly grateful! Being away from family is always difficult, especially on a birthday, but Slice of Italy really did a tremendous job and made this favorite sister super happy! This place wasn't on our itinerary for dining, but my kiddo wanted pizza and we overheard the hotel staff saying they are meeting up there for a celebration. We ordered the Margarita pizza and the Ang's Fig pizza. Overall, I thought the pizzas were excellent...the dough was relatively thin, but had a nice chew. The Margarita had a fresh light tomato sauce and fresh basil; it didn't have fresh mozarella, but it was very tasty and we enjoyed it very much. The fig pizza was also very good, but I thought it could've had a stronger salty element to contrast the fig. We also got a chicken caesar salad, which had very tasty homemade croutons. Stopped overnight at a hotel and ordered a pizza. The pizza was good, not great. The price for a medium pizza delivered was just under $22, which wasn't bad. A couple of things we didn't care for was that despite being told by the girl that took our order "Were not busy, so it shouldn't be that long" - we waited about 50 mins for the pizza to come. The second issue was that even though the clerk at the front desk said they always will bring the pizza to the room, our delivery driver was new and apparently wasn't delivering to the room, so I had to go down and get. Walked in for some quick slices for me and my brothers, ended up asking for a pie. The elderly lady asked that I go sit in the dining room, so we did. We ordered a pepperoni pie as soon as we sat down at 5:25 and some drinks. After 25 minutes, we asked about our pizza because the dining hall began to get a little busy and were told that they were busy. We watched other people come in and get served pasta and other foods while we waited 35 minutes for our pie. We left at 6:00 and ate at Wendy's instead still with no pizza.
