They told me i needed a procedure done to have a ectopic tooth removed. I get there on time for my appointment. Whenever i get taken back im asked "which tooth is being taken out?" I'm not sure how this works but im pretty sure they should be the ones telling me. After having scheduled this appointment and getting there and paying the $162 co pay they finally tell me they can't complete the surgery because they don't know where it is and they need a ct scan. Very unprofessional and would not recommend. read more

I cannot begin to properly describe how content I am with this office. Growing up not going to the dentist except for the one time that's required for school, I of course went into this with immense fear. I am a young adult, 20 years old, and this is the first "adult" thing and form of self-care I've ever done for myself. Upon my first visit, I was quickly reassured and calmed down. My following appointments were broke down on a piece of paper for me, so I knew EXACTLY what was happening and EXACTLY what I'd be paying. It really did help me space things out properly regarding money. If you ask questions they will gladly answer them, they will reassure you that you're doing great, they will accommodate to your needs as best they can. When questions get asked, they are happy to explain exactly what they're doing and why. If you have general questions about oral care, they will answer and give advice. They will make you really comfortable, no matter what potential nerves or embarrassment you may have. :) After four visits, I'm not made to go back until nearly six months from now but I know exactly who to recommend people to. I am so grateful for this office, I am even building confidence in my smile I've never had in my life. I can't speak for the "family" experience or anything like that as I go for myself only, but I really do love it here. My fears are eliminated. :) read more

Are zero stars an option?? THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!! I have had them try to get more money off us when my braces are paid off! Five times to be exact. They are constantly broke and the people are rude asf when you ask how much longer you will have them. I was told a year and it's now been over 2 they have broke contract over and over! They were super rude and they don't know how to do their job it's unprofessional and unorganized in there! And their "quality care" is a joke. They randomly change appointments without notification. We've also shown up for two appointments (one today) and the office was closed or the doctor wasn't there but no one notified us. I'm also being moved to a different location because the doctor isn't coming back to Hiram but wasn't notified about that either. It was randomly mentioned when my mom called to reschedule since the office was closed. Oh, and did I get to reschedule? Nope. They never seem to have an available schedule for the orthodontist. This particular location is horrible. I've been going here for two years and nothing has improved. I continue to give them my business because they're close by and since I only get my 6-month cleaning I'm usually in and out in an hour or so. The last visit was the worse time yet. I went a week ago and their x-ray machines were down, which meant I could only get a cleaning and I would have to come back for the tray. Things happen so I wasn't upset about that. I had my cleaning which took about 10-12 minutes. When I was done I told the tech that my teeth didn't feel clean. She said well "I cleaned them." I said my cleaning was really fast and she told me I didn't have much to be cleaned. I was skeptical, but left the office. I was told someone would call me back to see if I could come back the same day for the x-ray. Of course, that call never came. I knew better. I came back in a week for my x-ray. When the dentist took a look at my teeth he asked if I had a cleaning last week, I said yes. He said I needed to have them cleaned and I repied "I knew it". So instead of having a quick appt to review my xrays, I spent 45 mins getting my teeth cleaned. I am grateful for the dentist who did the right thing, but this should have never happened PERIOD. Just complete carelessness which is the temperament of the entire office and its staff. The bathrooms are never cleaned properly. And one time I saw a dead cockroach on the floor. I can't believe I continued going here just for convenience. On top of all that they NEVER answer their phones. And always give a lame excuse as to why. I had to call the Catersville office to make an appt at the Hiram office. You guys must do better. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous! Thanks to the new doctor who took care of my teeth today. read more

Yes they take our insurance... they ask a cleaning fee everytime you come in. Its mandatory anyway during covid and everytime ive been in i believe 4 visits now its never clean; there was a used bandaid, kids toys and jewelry laying on the floor, dust and hair balls all over the offices, the restrooms were filthy plus tp bits all over the bathroom, the wait times are crazy which is understandable for covid. As a parent you cannot accompany your child and ive changed dentists twice now the first one my childs face was swollen and infected for 2 weeks this one tues she was swollen and seemed to run a fever, Wednesday-thurs feverish, ill & lathargic, today she cant eat because of the blisters inside her mouth. I also called and sent an email with the pic and they have yet to aid my child in her situation. read more

(They didn't hurt before) The guy drilled into me mouth with out an anesthesia and then called me sensitive for trying to Signal him to stop. This is one of the worst dentistry services that I've ever experienced. I called a week earlier to make a new patient appointment. They took my insurance information and everything. When I got to my appointment, they stated that my insurance still needed to be verified and I should wait. 20 minutes passed by and I didn't hear nothing from them until I had to go up there and ask if there's any paperwork that needed to be filled out. It took me to go up there for them to give me 5 pages of paperwork to fill out. They need to learn to stop wasting people's times and overbooking. This is very rude. read more

Hiram location- TL;DR: was scheduled for a day they were actually closed. Waited over an hour past appointment time to be seen. Wasn't even provided the right type of appointment. I having to reschedule my dental cleaning due to medical reasons. They then called the week of my new appt. to tell me that they were actually closed on the day that they had scheduled me for, the day I had already taken off work. So again I rescheduled. Finally got in for my cleaning. I had to wait OVER AN HOUR PAST MY APPT TIME. When I asked about the delay, they said, "oh Saturdays are busy for us". Once I was finally in the chair, after having my X-rays done, they poked my teeth and said, ok, you're good. When I asked about the cleaning, they told me that they don't schedule them for the same day as X-rays. Which is not true, Because my husband had gone in for X-rays and a cleaning on a the original Saturday that my appointment was set for. We will not be going back, as though they are friendly enough people, the company seems to lack organization and consideration of it's clients. read more

My wife took my 4 year old daughter to have her first dental appointment. The staff told my wife she was not allowed back in a private room with our daughter due to HIPAA laws. Since when do HIPAA laws prevent the parent being there for a pediatrician appointment, an ER visit, or anything else of that kind? Yet the apply to a dental visit? This is the worst dental place I have ever dealt with and would not recommend it to anyone for any reason. Go else where. read more

First of all, they would not accept previous dentist's records. Had they accepted previous records, they would have seen teeth had been recently filled. They do a terrible job at verifying insurance. I'm not sure they even check. I leave my appt and they tell me nothing is owed but every time I come back for more dental work, I have a balance because they filled teeth that have been filled less than a year ago so insurance would not cover. Dr. Gina Hurt works in Hiram, Georgia at A Smile 4 U. I have not met a doctor or a dentist who requires a patient to visit so many times for treatment. I've had appointments with this dentist four times with the last one being inadvertently cancelled by my wife. Thank goodness for that. My wife also had an appointment with this dentist as well and was on track to have just as many visits, if not more. The point of this review is that my teeth has never felt worse after the visit with this dentist than before. My teeth is more sensitive and I have trouble now eating food that is hot or cold. Moreover, I strongly suspect that this dentist has a quota to meet. She told me that I had cavities all over. She stated the same thing with my wife after an examination. She even suggested that I require a crown that will cost around $1500. I strongly recommend anyone going to this dentist to obtain a second opinion. After my last cancellation of my fifth visit to this dentist, my wife and I are looking for a new dentist. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SEE OTHER REVIEWS OF THIS DENTIST. I took my son to the appointment a few minutes earlier than the original appointment. We waited over an hour before being seen, not knowing they were "running behind". I had to pay money for the "cleaning of the equipment", something that was not stated at the scheduling of the appointment. My son stayed in the back for over another hour with nothing being done. He was suppose to have a spacer taken out, that was digging in his gums causing him pain, only for them to reschedule him for the next day. We came back the next day at 8 am. He was taken back 10 minutes later. Over an hour later, I received a call asking me permission to clean my son's teeth before they take out the spacer. I responded, " he's been back there over an hour and you guys still haven't done the procedure?" Not to mention, had to pay more money for the "cleaning of equipment". This was THEE worst experience that I have EVER had at a dentist office in my ENTIRE Life!! My Appointment was at 10:00 am and I arrived at 9:30am to give myself time to complete paperwork. After I checked in I proceeded to wait over 2 hours before they even pulled me to the back of the dentist office. Once pulled back I was under the assumption that I would be having a dental cleaning but in was advised that them reviewing my X-Rays was basically the scope of my visit. But the time the dentist saw me it was 1pm. He nonchalantly reviewed my X-Ray and advised me of the work I needed and left instructing the dental assistant to finishing making notes and escort me to front. The cleaning that they were recommending was not covered by my insurance and was $417 with a discount and $460 without. I advise Jewels/Jules that the dental office has not provided me with enough customer service to warrant me spending $460 with them. I had an appointment with my personal trainer at 12:30 Pm That I missed because of their complete lack of respect for my time. I proceeded to call My normal dentist. The same procedure there only cost $219. Smh so in addition to everything else it appears that the are price inflater as well. And you can't even chalk up the inflation in price to them trying to provide an excellent customer experience!!! I well NEVER GO BACK THERE!!!! read more

Charged $5 for Corona virus cleaning related tasks, which I was not notified they would do before my appt. Appt was for 9am, didn't get seen until 10 am because my Dr office kept faxing over a form they previously sent and their fax machine wouldn't receive. Ended up getting it emailed over. Then, finally saw dentist only to be told that they would need to refer me to one of their providers for further work and those providers didn't accept my insurance, the whole point of me even coming. Only got x-rays and exam, no cleaning, etc. A total waste of my time to only end up going somewhere else to pay out of pocket for HALF THE PRICE of the services they quoted me for the referral job. Who knows what they ran my insurance for, I WON'T be going back. Not to mention I called later to get a copy of the referral and the first time they didn't send it and when I called back, no record of my request. Only efficient at being incompetent! read more

This was a horrible experience. I will say that the front desk was very friendly and the lady who took me back to the room and was going to assist the dentist was very friendly and helpful. That was the extent of my experience being good. I was there to have a tooth extracted that is infected and there is a large abscess above the tooth. I was already in pain and very nervous about having this tooth pulled. The dentist came in and was very rushed and rough with jabbing a needle in my mouth especially around the abscess. He hurt me so bad I was crying and he got irritated because apparently I wasn't allowed to hurt and he jumped up in the middle of jabbing the needle in my mouth and he told me and the dental assistant that since I was acting like this he was just sending me to the oral surgeon since I wouldn't stop and let him pull the tooth and he stormed out of the room. I never stopped him from doing what he needed to do he just got irritated at me for crying. I should add that my mouth never numbed out even with him jabbing me with the numbing stuff .. so now my mouth and face are even more swollen and hurting and the dentist humiliated me for hurting, like I was in the wrong. I will never go back to this dentist. I recommend anyone else to find another dentist if at all possible. read more

Worst dentist I've ever taken my child to. They don't allow parents to go back but then don't update the parents as to what is going on. They have the children (my child is 10) schedule them appointments themselves. I was told this shouldn't happen and won't again. Come next time, it happened again. The girl at the desk said this is procedure and that we can call to reschedule if need be. Well, that would require them to answer the phones! They schedule to put my child's bottom braces on but when we got there, they said our appointment was scheduled too late in the day to get this done because they were closing soon. You and my 10 year old scheduled it.. whose fault is that?! This past visit, our appointment was apparently rescheduled without telling us. No one called or anything. Tried to make us come back but I refused. The manager herself took my daughter back. All she did change the color of her bands. Didn't tighten them... wouldn't give her a thing to hold her mouth open and broke a bracket off in the process. Instead of fixing it, she just left it off completely. Makes no damn sense. I just tried to call the office to see about switching to somewhere else. No one answered and the mailbox is full. Smh read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever had from a dentist. I schedule my appointment through my United Healthcare portal for in network. I scheduled it Tuesday, for Monday at 3:30. I scheduled for a cleaning, and put notes that I needed a retainer or mouth guard because I grind my teeth and want a new retainer anyways. I didn't receive any email confirmations, no phone calls or anything. So I'm trying to hunt down a confirmation for the whole week. I tried calling but it rings until I get the voicemail to the Cartersville location. Left a message, sent a text through their website. No email though because they didn't have one in the website. I finally find a confirmation email from local med for making an account, saw my appointment on there. I get there at 3:18 and fill out my forms. While I'm waiting I see and email from 11:00 saying they can't see me because x ray machines are down. They finally bring me back and do x rays. Doctor comes to look at my teeth. Immediately tells me I need my wisdom teeth removed that I've had for five years and don't bother me. He makes me watch him in a mirror while he tells me I clearly didn't wear my retainer after braces.. it still fits by the way. Pulls plaque from behind my wisdom teeth "oh look at that" and tells me a stain in my teeth I've had since I was a child was a cavity. It could be now, but Ive had multiple dentist tell me it wasn't a cavity when I personally thought it was. Then they ask me to go back up front. Why? Because they are scheduling my cleaning.. what about the mouth guard? Next time.. it's now 4:15 and they close at 5:00.. I'm wondering why I didn't get my cleaning I scheduled. Apparently you come in for an exam to find out "which cleaning" you need then come back! So I'm frustrated, they tell me "well we couldn't get ahold of you" I'm like what number do you have? Confirmed my number.. and you guys emailed me this morning to cancel my appointment so you could have just as easily confirmed anything with me via email. They said they left three messages, nope. Apparently a man picked up and said it was a work number. Well you must be dialing the wrong number. I mean no communication, rude doctor for sure. And the staff was alright but I could tell one woman started to get a little defensive that she apparently "called me this morning" and started reaching over the other woman to look over her notes in the system. Im blown away by the lack of customer service and the belittling nature of the dentist. Thought this place was for adults but they definitely don't treat you like one. The rooms are horrid. I had an appointment scheduled for my daughter on a Friday afternoon they called me a week before to cancel and then they did not want to reschedule me except for about a month out I insisted that they reschedule me for the following week so they did and when I get to the appointment the doors are locked and there are several people waiting outside I called the office and they said they would have the office manager call me back but I received no call ...while on the phone with their scheduler I asked who she spoke with and when did they called to reschedule the second appointment they said they called the day before and spoke with my wife and she cancelled the appointment well the fact is that I'm not married so they could not have spoken with my wife...my daughter is a new patient but I do believe I will go somewhere else at this point obviously this dentist does not want to work and does not need the money so I would take my business elsewhere if I were you!! read more
