I am EXTREMELY disappointed I am about an appointment I had scheduled on May 6 2024 at 4:10pm. I was told that my appointment was canceled because I didn't confirm my appointment, which was NOT true. My appointment was confirmed via text and I had the text thread to prove it. I work FULL time during the day and to simply suggest that I reschedule as if I have no job or anything else to do is RUDE and unprofessional. It's UNFAIR and simply wrong for me to make accommodations for something her staff overlooked. Why couldn't her staff make accommodation for me vs me having to make accommodation. Today I had my initial visit with JLM Dentistry. It was a pleasant appointment and Dr. Manning and her staff were great. I had called last week for an emergency but could not get in right away. I still scheduled an appointment for my emergency and new patient appt for August. They added me to the cancelation list and this morning they called due to a cancelation on the schedule. I love this dentistry practice. If you're looking for a high quality location, office, and experience this is your place. The staff is all very nice and professional and Dr Manning is lovely. I feel like they give honest feedback about your personal oral health and aren't trying to scam or pressure you into unnecessary procedures and treatment. I really appreciated the fact that they weren't pushing me into doing some treatments I will need eventually and gave me room to schedule them within a reasonable range of time. The offices are super high tech with TVs mounted on the ceiling so you can stay entertained as you lay back and let them go to work. I am also a fan of this practice being black-owned. I should have written yrs ago. Went here because my dentist was here except-he DIED! Not even kidding because I showed up here only to find out that my dentist had died & she'd taken over. After an introduction to what can only be described as her inexperienced staff, she in formed me that I needed a gum graft. I left so quickly I left skidmarks. I'm still numb as I type this. Went here for a cleaning. It had been over 2 years since my last one, so a workout was due. Now, this office is very close to me & in fact, I drive past it everyday on my way to (ahem) working out on the Silver Comet Trail. For some reason, I always thought this place was a veterinarians office. I was pleasantly surprised when I got a flyer one day telling me that it is, indeed, a dentist office. This prompted me to stop in & make an appointment which brings us to where we are now. Upon my arrival the very pleasant staff (look they countenace no fools, but they are very respectful) gave me the new patient treatment. This consists of an iPad, which does double duty as the sigh in sheet, in which you enter your information. Now as an IT worker, I'm all for automating of order entry tasks, but it seems that while the concept is good the exucution is really no better. You will enter your nane/address etc., about 7 gazzillion times when once (!) should have sufficed. This is no ding on this office as my medical doctor, various specialists all do the same thing. I guess we can just say the glass is haf-filled for now :) The office itelsf is pleasant enough if not rather utilitarian. The women who work here (I did not see any males on my visit) are very competent & reassuring. Frankly I probably got on their nerves (I HATE needles) a little, but they never let that on. Dr. Manning has a wonderful "bedside manner" that really went a long way to put me at ease when she had that 4 inch needle in my mouth. Alas at 46 I had never had a cavity before so I was a litte surprised to be informed that I needed two fillings. This is a comprehensive & cosmectic dentistry practice & the experience I had was top notch. The assistants & hygenist were constantly checking with & making sure that I understood every step they did on what turned out to be a rather routine deep cleaning. Health insurance in this country is going through a transitory period, but I found that even with my less than stellar dental plan, the fee schedule was not exorbitant. Nevertheless, the staff made the entire visit extrememly professional if not (dare I say it) enjoyable. I think I'm actually looking forward to my next visit. LOL To wit; JLM Dentistry, IMHO, is a fanatastic, thorough, professional dentist office that I highgly recommend. why the 4 stars, ........it IS a dentist' office after all. read more

Dr. Jarrett is my one and only FAVORITE Dentist for the last 10 1/2 years. When I first met her I told her my fears of needles and Dentist. Anxiety was on me and blood pressure was up. But she assured me everything would be alright! And that it was! She was so gentle until I fell asleep during the procedure (cracked tooth pulled)...LOL! Not only did she brighten my smile, she corrected all my dental needs. And to this day she has been a woman/dentist to her word. I have no fear because I know my teeth are in good hands. I had a similar experience that the user Kessa had. They wouldn't give me a regular cleaning until I booked an initial appointment with xrays and other tests. They recommended a deep cleaning at a future appointment and said I had 5 cavaties. Their treatment plan was expensive, and my husband had recently completed his expensive treatment plan with them, so I needed to wait in order to book my appointment (they also charge a $50 deposit when you book an appointment). Recently, I called to book my appointment and said I wasn't going to do the deep cleaning but wanted my cavaties filled, and they said the first available appointment wasn't until August (it's now February). So I went to another dentist to get my cavaties filled, and they diagnosed me with only 2 cavaties and said I didn't need the deep cleaning. I saved a bunch of money by going to another dentist. Two star review instead of one because their office staff was nice and the doctor seemed very caring. read more

I made an appt. for a teeth cleaning for a Friday at 8:30AM. I took off work and arrived on time to discover the office empty and closed. Never in the days prior did I receive any notice that they had cancelled the appt. While waiting in the parking lot, I called and left a voicemail and emailed. Weeks later no one has still ever called or emailed me to address the issue. I will be taking my business to a reputable practice in the future. read more

I schedule an appointment for a regular cleaning. Made it to my dentist appointment was taken to the back to receive x-rays then was informed that I could not get a regular cleaning I needed to come back for a deep cleaning. The dentist informed me that I also needed 2 wisdom teeth removed but she doesn't feel comfortable removing them or not that experienced with removing them. However she explained that she would remove mine but one at a time. And I thought NOT, not a good idea!! After leaving the dentist I immediately followed up with my old dentist office and went in for a second opinion. We call JLM to receive x-rays that process took about two days which is normally handled in minutes. My second opinion determined that a regular cleaning was sufficient as I did not have any problem with bleeding gums or teeth when flossing. I was given a bill for $1,200 for a deep cleaning. I've have had my wisdom teeth removed and a cleaning all for the price of$900. I really do not appreciate being over-diagnosed for treatments, this is totally unacceptable. I really feel like the dentist and her staff should do a better job explaining the process of treatment and how it works. I have found a dentist that I'm very satisfied with and I appreciate the attention to detail!! read more

Total waste of time. Arrived ten minutes before appointments and checked in. At he reception counter their are three signs notifying you will be charged for missed or late appointments. Guess who was 39 minutes late not even to have me sit and wait in the back but just still in the lobby. Front desk apologized but said "oh we have patients." You manage your scheduling correct. The staff is always very courteous and professional and I'm often seen within five to ten minutes of my arrival. If you're looking for a dentist, look elsewhere. My experience has been beyond awful here. The first time I went, I was made to wait for over 30 minutes for my appointment and then another 30 minutes in the exam room only to be told by the dentist that they didn't have time to give me a cleaning because they were closing soon... When I came in for my cleaning today, I got to my appointment 15 minutes early, waited an additional 30 minutes to get into an exam room, then had to wait yet another 15 minutes to get my cleaning done by my oral hygienist only to be told that, if I didn't take off work AGAIN the very next day, I wouldn't be able to be seen until July. Yes. JULY. More than three months later. Are we seeing a trend here? They don't keep their appointments. They don't service their patients, forcing them to come in multiple times for something other dentists could do in one, maybe 2 visits. They waste their patients' time. They charge you more than they say your procedure is going to cost (and then AFTER THE FACT tell you the initial price was an "estimate"). And their front staff is just rude. Don't believe me? Call them and see how they answer the phone and answer your questions. Here's a tip - just bypass this office all together and find a different dentist. read more

This is the perhaps the most unprofessional practice I've ever experienced. The staff has no sense of urgency, lacks professionalism and respect for patients' time and needs. The hours of operations are not truly flexible as if schedule on a day with extended hours, your appointment will be cancelled if you do not call within 9-5. By the way, leaving confirmation on their answering machine does not mean a thing. You're out of luck if you are unable to call during the hours they choose. I've been coming to this practice for at least 4 years and dealing with the increasing decline of customer advocacy for the last two years just because Dr. Manning is a decent professional and it's so close to home. This year I experienced the worst customer experience ever. For the last 2 years I've not been able to get any dental work done because of the number of months you have to wait for an appointment during extended hours and/or waiting for the staff to call or email to provide the insurance break-down for the required work. This year after waiting for 6 months for a simple cleaning, my appointment was cancelled just because the receptionist argued with me that listens to all the answering machine messages and I didn't leave one. This while I left work reparations and sat in traffic to make it there on time. Really? Does Dr. Manning have a clue about how unprofessional and tacky her staff is? Perhaps she does, as this has been going on for years and only getting worse. If you can go any where else , do! This place is awful! read more

Stay away from this place! We moved here from Michigan and I was looking for a new dentist for myself and my family. We had over 30 years with our last dentist total so I'm very cautious and nervous about going to a new one. Long story short, I sent my daughter who is 20, when she got there, they didn't ask for any of the previous dentist's info( for records), they did X-rays, did what I later found out was some inappropriate way to count her teeth, just visually looked at her teeth and then told her she had 5 cavities and some "deep cleaning", which we had never heard of after a long history of regular 6 month cleanings and check-ups. Naturally I questioned it and decided to look for another dentist for a 2nd opinion. We then went to a Dr. Feil. A very pleasant and thorough dentist who reviewed those same X-rays, cleaned and examined her teeth and found absolutely nothing wrong!!! Stay away!!! read more

Please go elsewhere. The tech told me I had one, maybe two cavities. The dentist said I had six. At the front desk checking out, they had me down for work on eight cavities. I went to another (reputable) dentist for a second opinion and I have three cavities, two of which are minor and the cost to fix them is not even 1/4 of what I was quoted at JLM. Sorry to say this as the staff was friendly and kind, but this place is a sham. The exam rooms are also dirty and the equipment is dated. read more

I had an appointment for 11:40 and received a confirmation text stating that it was at 11:40. After hitting some traffic I called to say that I was running late and was told there was a 10 minute grace period, after sitting in the car for an hour, I was informed that my appointment was at 11:30 and I was 30 minutes late (I got there at 11:50 meeting the grace period, nice math by the way) and was refused. They told me to come back at 3 and they'd squeeze me in. Won't be going back. read more

Lets start with the staff. Totally unprofessional and not qualified to work with patients dental information. If you are not calling for a cleaning or filling the office staff will read your chart and determine whether to give you an appointment. First of all they aren't qualified to do this and this creates a situation where you have to contact another provider which is what I did, but what a cluster....But I am sure this comes from the owner. Second this place is basically a scam saying they do dental implants, and other services, but if you aren't getting a cleaning or filling they will simply refer you out to someone else. It is just a scam to get you in the door. But when it comes to a cleaning appointment they will call you like clockwork as a reminder and send you a text message. RUN, don't walk as far away as you can. "Dr." Manning took full mouth x-rays on my first visit, she examined my teeth and had her hygenist do a full cleaning. She said I have 8 cavities. At nearly 60 years old I've only had 5 cavities in my entire life, so I thought 8 was odd, but I chaulked it up to age. After that first visit, I couldn't get another apointment to have those 8 cavities filled until 6 months later. Fortunately for me, I ended up moving to another state within those 6 months. I cancelled the appointment, but her office kept scheduling appointments without my knowledge, then calling me on a weekly basis for 2 months trying to confirm appointments I never made. When I found a dentist in my new location I had my records transferred from JLM. My new dentist has over 20 years experience and an excellent reputation. My new dentist evaluated JLM's x-rays and took his own x-rays and did a full exam. His diagnosis -- NO CAVITIES WHATSOEVER. When I told him of Manning's diagnosis of 8 cavities, he said, "that's rediculous, and just plain wrong - I'm looking at every tooth in your mouth and there are no cavities."
