There are not a lot of floor sales associates around, so you're mostly on your own to try on anything you like. I got a great pair of Skechers casual slip-ons for work. I never liked Skechers at other stores before because they never had the right size or were a bad fit, but I was surprised when DSW had my size & width. This pair is a perfect fit and gives a bouncy spring to my step! My wife went bananas and bought 3 pairs of casual sneakers in both canvas and leather, plus a pair of winter boots, since they were BOGO 1/2 off. At the register, the associate offered us shoe treatment on the boots to coat with stain-resistant/waterproofing for $8.99, but also gave us a discount on the boots that covered the treatment. She stuck the boots in a machine and was done in a few seconds. That was some good service!

When we arrived, we were fortunate to meet Raul again. He had helped my niece before, and once again he was so patient, helpful, and friendly. He really knows his products and immediately understood the type of rocker shoe I was looking for. Sometimes it's the customer that knows whether they are buying or walking. Let me explain, briefly! A cordial greeting and offering assistance is key. You have to break the ice. I used to work for Bostonian/ Clark and Bakers Shoes. They had beautiful boots for women. Anyway- I greeted and broke the ice. The person said that they didn't have money to buy. Reading the potential customer - they were staring at the boots for about 5 minutes. I told her, it doesn't cost money to try on a pair of boots. Conclusion, she waked out, boots in hand. Commission sales mind you! On today 1/28/26 one sales rep greeted and broke the ice but did a relay to his associate. So I picked out the shoes that wanted to try. Levels - the customer comes in with one shoe in mind the sales rep should bring other styles close to desired shoe or another color. So I picked the shoes and made his job easy, very easy. One thing he did that I loved, he serviced me giving undivided attention and assisted me with putting on casual socks and help me put on the shoes. I had dress socks on and it gives a different fit. CONCLUSIONS-I walked out with multiple boots in hand. I basically sold myself the boots and scored $10 percent off. There are areas of improvements - if you greet the customer, seat the customer don't pass them off to someone else. Pro tip- aleays ask if there's a promotional sale. In my case. The promo was advertised. I'm a happy camper today willing to.... Inspire more, Yelp more!

Anyway, that's not a big deal but I needed to mention to see if anyone else experienced this same issue. Moving along I found what I thought was a good deal, the Lebron witness 7 for 59.99. I approached the register and place all 3 of my items barcodes up, would you believe the young man at the other register reach over while working with another customer placed my boxes flat on the counter Infront of his coworker, I ignore the immature act but continue with my purchase. After the young lady rang all my items totaling $198.75. I paid and noticed an overcharge of 10.00 dollars, I questioned the 10.00-dollar difference. I asked but got no solution, so a manager came up uninterested in the issue of a mis priced item. After further investigation she apologized and walk away. I asked so the item was mispriced, and I am supposed to pay the difference...... the ignore and continue walking away. At this point I felt disrespected, so I returned the $198.75. Nike store in Oceanside will never see another dime from my household.
