Had a great dinner with my daughter. We arrived at 5 pm to beat the dinner rush. I'm glad we did. There were several tables to choose from but it filled up fast. We had the chicken and the tofu phad thai respectively. A 2 and a 3 spicy level. The 3 was perfect. They tasted great. The additions and garnishes completed the dish. A couple thai ice teas and it was a marvelous meal. The price was less than most of the other more well known Thai places in Spokane. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this Thai food restaurant. I'm not sure why it has such good reviews, but we found it to be almost inedible. We ordered Penang curry with beef and Pad see ew w/chicken to go. The noodles in the Pad see ew, were thick egg-like noodles, the broccoli was cooked to death, and the flavor was lacking. The Penang beef was also very poor. The beef was tough and chewy and the peppers were mush. We were starving and should have liked anything, but unfortunately both the taste and quality did not meet our expectations based on the reviews. We'll stick with Kuni's- the Thai restaurant down the road, from now on. read more

Our food is always excellent. The pad Thai and fried rice are especially incredible, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that I wish they were better about answering the phone so we could place to-go orders more often. Overall, it's still one of our favorite places to eat. read more

Can't even get them to answer the phone and not the first time I've run into this problem. Ridiculous

For the past two weeks, I've tried to get takeout and they have been ridiculous about the time of it. I called on a Tuesday around 5pm, let's say I attempted to call for 45mins continuing to try which they finally answered. Turned me away, said unable to accommodate until 7pm. 2nd attempt, walked in as I was in area, this was a Friday, they open at 4:30pm. I walked in at 4:37pm, so 7 mins after they open, 3 couples siting and once again, they said "oh it will be atleast an hour" how's that when literally have been open for 7mins. I'm sure if I chose to sit, place an order, it would have been working 20mins. So they need to figure something better out as take out, means take out to have within a reasonable time and be able to pick up on way home, or carry out as I'm there. This is my favorite Thai Restaurant. Not only is the food delicious, you get decent portions and the price is unbeatable. Honestly, with how expensive things have gotten, I'd almost encourage these guys to up their prices a bit. They are SO busy and the phone is always ringing with to-go orders. It is only the mom, son and wife? I'm not sure if they have any other help back there, but these are hardworking people supporting themselves and their family and I respect the hustle, even if wait times are a little longer. The place has a hole-in-the-wall vibe with all sorts of beautiful Thai decor. A little chaotic, some things are a little old, but I love it. read more

We were invited here by a friend who says this is the best in town! He was definitely write best Thai food in Spokane by far!!! We got a little bit of everything the food was fresh not canned food which makes a difference when they ingredients are quality. I am very happy that they weren't heavy-handed with the salt I can't stand when I went restaurants use way too much salt. Phad Thai, Basil chicken, cashew chicken, garlic chicken, Fried rice chicken and Yellow curry w potato. Everybody at our table split the meal and we all got a sample of everything it was so good everybody left overly stuffed. Yum yum Also vegetarians I wanted to let you know that you could substitute the meat for tofu So I was hesitant on trying the yellow curry mostly because I'm not really a big fan of coconut for whatever reason my taste buds never liked it... Anyways I figure why not I can just try it... Am I ever happy that we did not drive away! We are visitors from out of state and hubby found this place through Yelp. We pulled in the parking lot of a strip mall and it was completely empty. I don't recall what stores were surrounding the restaurant but we found it odd that it was empty, since it was a Saturday night (summer time) and almost 8:30 in the evening. We almost drove away, but I double checked Yelp and it said it was open. It looked dark and there were no lit lights flashing, OPEN. But I did see the open sign, barely. We walked in, and we were the only customers. Greeted by the friendly staff and soon after our order was taken. The food was delicious as well as the Thai Iced tea. The portion was just right. I thought the price of the dishes were fair. Whenever I dine out at a new place, I always scan the dessert page first. This will determine how much space I need to save for dessert. I was ecstatic when I saw they had Black Rice with the option with coconut milk or ice cream! I've only tried this at one other Thai restaurant in California. They discontinued making it because it was time consuming. I had the Black Rice (texture is like brown rice) with Coconut Milk. It was almost perfect, but could've used a tad more sugar. Overall the visit here for dinner was awesome. Friendly staff, clean and spacious dining area, clean rest rooms and delicious food and dessert. By the time we were ready to leave, they had 4 pick up orders and 4 couples that walked in. Even though it was near closing time, they welcomed everyone with smiles. First a note: I am not a connoisseur of Thai cuisine. This meaning that I don't go to get a cultural meal all that often. I do know what tastes good to me though and I really enjoy the food here. The spring rolls are made in house and are excellent. The chicken in peanut sauce (on spinach) is one of my favorite foods period. I could eat this every day and be pretty darn happy. On this most recent visit we also had the sweet and sour chicken. I believe this is made with a homemade sauce and it was also outstanding. The meat in both dishes were tasty and cooked just right. The rice that was served with the meal was also very good. It was just sticky enough to be a good base for the other dishes. The family that owns and runs this establishment are very kind. Although the mom who usually works the register seems quiet and passive, she is actually very nice. Dad cooks and their son helps in both the front and back of the house. A friend of mine introduced us to this place and I really can't thank him enough. This is going to be a regular stop for us. read more

Friday nights, sometimes, are dinner nights with friends and colleagues .. A lot of them being vegetarian and then their craving for spicy food .. Thai was decided before we could even throw in the options. Reached at 8.30 pm .. everything felt as if it was way past midnight. The parking lot was deserted and everything was closed. Yet there was an "OPEN" sign dangling .. yelp also said that they would be open till 9 .. we walked in. Well .. no one seemed to be in the restaurant as well. I mean customers .. he he :) .. but the staff was there .. The order was given out quickly and the food came out in the similar fashion as well .. quick. A spring roll each was $1 .. vegetarian one .. they were great. My order was a Thai Basil Chicken .. came with some boiled white rice. Asked for a 3 on the spice level .. and managed it as well but this is kinda my limit .. wouldn't want to go like 4 or more. Among the other things that I tasted were .. Ginger Chicken, Some sauteed veggies in hot garlic sauce, pad Thai .. everything yeah right up there. There were fruit sodas as well .. which btw are a must have .. some fruity slush topped with coconut milk .. just $1.50 each. The prices are great for such fresh food out of the wok .. place is neat and clean and tidy .. the staff is lovely. The restaurant is set as traditional as a way one could expect .. the lovely colors with murals and hangings and paintings all so reminiscent of Thailand. So glad I found this gem!! I live on the north side and would frequent Maw phin on Newport highway. We were pretty bummed when they closed down. Found this gem on a yelp search and we will definitely be back! The food is great, the portions are large and the prices are very fair, in fact much lower than other Thai places in town. One of the best Thai places in town, hands down. Friendly and clean, and the food is always great and fresh. The family run business is very accommodating and they strive to make each meal delicious whether your dining in or ordering out. Chicken Satay is a great appetizer to start off with and you get complimentary cucumber salad in a sweet vinegar sauce with it.The Massaman Curry with chicken is one of my favorite main dishes to get, but I have enjoyed everything I have had here, which is most of the menu. I highly recommend their curries if your a fan of Curry, also the Thai Ice Tea is great and refreshing! The only down side is that it can be a bit of a wait to get your food when it is busy or when there are back to back to-go-orders, but to counter this you can just make a to-go-order yourself...or be patient, just be prepared for a 30-60 min wait for your food due to the demand of to-go-orders. With that said the quality and freshness of the food more than makes up for any wait you would possibly have, and if your dining out just sit back, relax, and enjoy some Thai Ice Tea and chat with good company while you wait. Family restaurant in strip mall. Very friendly and clean. Came on a Friday night at 6 and it was popping! Waited 40min for our food which was expected based on how busy it was and take out orders. Food was good. Got the garlic shrimp as suggested by the waiter. Spice level was 1-4 and I got a 4, it was perfect. My son got the cashew chicken which he loved. Also got a Thai iced tea because it was $1.95! And the spring rolls are $1 each. The black rice dessert with coconut ice cream was bomb!
