Probably the most solid boba shop to open in the Thousand Oaks area. The texture of the tea and boba is pretty on par with what you'd find in the SGV area. I've tried the brown sugar milk boba and the taro milk tea and both were done just right - the quality is definitely there. The boba is definitely high on the qq or springy and bouncy scale. I used to go to the Valley often to get boba when I didn't feel like driving all the way to SGV, but I'd say A Tea Thing has better quality drinks and boba. The drinks are definitely more expensive than what you would find in SGV, so I don't think I'd come back very often. I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area and in the mood for boba. read more

I'm SO happy to see more boba tea places opening up in Ventura County!! A Tea Thing was really tasty, and it's probably my new favorite in the area. The sea salt foam with jasmine green tea was delicious - perfect combo of sweet and creamy. Boba was also delicious and had the perfect texture! The cups look smaller than other places, but I think the sizes they offer are actually BIGGER than other places. The regular starts at 24 oz, and the next size up is (I THINK) 36 oz. The service was great and relatively quick. The shop itself isn't super big, but it's clean, and good for small groups of 2-3. It seems good for studying/working too as they've got electrical plugs to charge laptops (and also bathrooms!). It's a bit pricey IMO, but I'll be back :) read more

This place is my new favorite spot for boba drink now. We ordered Signature milk tea, oat cream milk tea and Pink lychee slush. The milk tea is delicious even though we have it reduced in sugar. It was very good. The boba balls were a good texture, too. The large size is quite big! I was full with my regular size. The inside is sorta small, a few seating options but, over all cute and modern. The cashiers were also very friendly and patient with me as this was my first time at this shop. I'm giving 4 stars solely on the fact I've only been here once. Love their drinks in their first location in the valley, so I'm so excited they open another location in WLV closer to work. Their fruit tea selection is amazing, especially Tropical Fruit Tea and Lychee Lemon tea, so refreshing with real fruits infused. Oat cream milk tea is also my favorite. Honestly I just pulled over from the freeway to use the restroom at Target, BUT I saw this little shop in the plaza and went there instead. Very cute, clean shop. Staff was very attentive, extra kudos to the young lady with glasses at the register. Got the Oat Cream Fresh Milk tea, and I'm happy with my choice. Not too sweet and even has crumbled something on the top, nice little texture. But yeah, mainly writing this because I think the young lady deserves a shoutout. I ordered the Tornado Pink Lychee drink and to be honest I was very disappointed that it looked like a regular slush. Due to the word tornado I was expecting some cool swirl design around the cup. I didn't realize it's New which is good, they were really nice drinks for a great place is big if you would like to sit down, they have plenty of options in the menu. But in the past months they have raised their prices and hired teenagers who doesn't really know or care what they are doing. Finally got my taro drink and it tasted like water - no flavor whatsoever. I was running late to my appointment so I left without addressing the issue. I will not be going again. Upon entering the shop (i like the sleek lines of the bench and tables, but the music was pretty loud and couldn't carry on a decent conversation inside), I was smacked in the face by the overwhelming, sickeningly sweet smell of brown sugar... somewhat burnt brown sugar. That should've been my clue that the tea would be sweetened with it. I wasn't asked if I wanted sweetened or not... I just received an extremely sweet tea (the peach orange smash tea). So sweet that I barely sipped it there, I took it home and added tons more water. Unfortunately, the tea flavors went away by doing that, but guess what, the brown sugar was still very much there. Anyway, knowing this, I'll try the place out again, but maybe all of I can do unsweetened. read more

I came across this store when I was in the area and had to get my boba fix. I didn't know what to expect but it was a really great experience. The vibe was nice. The cup is so unique in a square shape and the staffs were so patient and helpful. My friend tried Exotic fruit tea and I got Oat cream fresh milk tea per recommendation. I really enjoyed what the sugary crunch added on top of the Oat cream fresh milk tea. Despite what I just said, I'll probably have my drinks reduced in sweetness next time. Both drinks were delicious and very different from other boba places we've been to. Price was a bit high to my surprise but with their quality and quantity (cup is pretty big), I think it totally justifies. Can't wait to be back to the area to to try this place again!!! read more
