The dude is a senior. I was out of options when I thought my landline covered was chipped through. So I went on yelp on my Apple Ipad and laptop went on yelp start dialing around businesses. The dude got experiences under his belt for AT&T loads of experiences being the fact he's a senior. So the trust between us was already solidify. 5 stars is not enough why? He went from San Jose to Me told me truthfully how to fixed it myself in 1 day. I got my landline and internet running better. Now i can use my tiny ass living room as a office for Day Trade my internet and landline is running again. Excellent customer service. If u guys wanna buy a Modem cable or Audio cables and Landline Filters. I recommended using getting a wirestripper / monster landline monster audio wires and 2wire filters. 2wire filters actually made my connection faster and stable. read more

Telephone Jacks was a godsend to us. Our landline phones were kaput for almost two weeks. Our phone provider Verizon could not solve our landline phone problem. Joel checked every possibility that might cause the problem and replaced a defective telephone jack in our kitchen. He tested the new landline phones by calling our mobile phones after he tutored us on how to use our mobile phones. Joel has a great sense of humor. I called Joel to hardwire my new house with Cat6e cable. I wanted 5 rooms in a two story old house wired with two drops per room to the garage and he said no problem. He did tell me that he doesn't work with 6e, only Cat6 because its harder to run, which I was ok with. He quoted me by far the cheapest rate for the work of the others that I requested a quote from which was amazing. Joel was a super friendly guy and extremely professional. He told me that he retired from AT&T and is doing this to earn some extra income. He was also local. He spent two days wiring the house. There were a few odd routes here and there, and there were more outside runs than I would have preferred, but it worked out well. He also did leave a few holes in the walls that he forgot to fill in, left some tools and some small messes (drywall bits, dirt) that he forgot to clean up, but I didn't mind since they were easy to clean up. Also, not sure if this is common practice, but he used wall staples to attach the cable at places, which seems to be stressing the insulation. One of the rooms also only had one drop instead of the two that I asked for. 9 drops installed in 5 rooms for a total for $1,350 at $150 a drop for my house. Ultimately, everything tested great on my 2.5 Gbps network for a few days. However, after a week I only started getting 100 Mbps on one of the drops to my office. I called Joel and he told me that he would come run a new drop. On the day that he was to arrive, he was a no show. I finally got a hold of him that night and he told me he had contracted pneumonia which was a totally reasonable excuse! I reached out a few months later and he said that he was recovering and was planning on starting up again in the summer. I ultimately decided to see if I could fix the drop myself with the help of youtube and the tools he left behind. I found out that the issue was that he had nicked a wire at the termination at the patch panel he installed in the garage. Using the punch tool he left behind, I repunched the termination and got full speeds again. Overall a few minor mishaps, but the price was right and again, he's a great guy. I wouldn't hesitate to use Joel again. read more

Joel is a very nice guy and did an amazing job for a very challenging situation. I just needed 1 Cat 8 cable run from my new fiber modem to a network switch in a more centralized location in the house. This involved running the cable under the house which, the house being in the hills, required crawling through several very tight, disconnected crawl spaces. Just to figure out the proper route was challenging. Joel figured out the route and, although a pretty old guy, crawled into these tight spaces unhesitatingly and made the cable run. I hired Joel to update the internet wiring and cabling in my house....he was prompt and responsive and extremely diligent about getting his work done...we needed cabling done across all the 8 different locations in our house including the backyard rooms...which required him to navigate attic crawlspace as and pull wires around the roof and moved my modem and router to the attic. Joel came over and wired up my house with ethernet a few weeks ago, and he did an absolutely fantastic job. You can tell how experienced he is, as he was extremely creative in finding ways to pull and push cables through small spaces, utilizing the attic and the crawl space. I selected and purchased my own cables, and I also appreciate that Joel had no problem using my stuff. He was extremely professional, he worked quickly, and all of the wiring was done perfectly. Efficient hard-wiring makes my mesh sing! Hired Joel to run Cat6 drops from the router to previously wireless connected mesh nodes to hopefully coax some more speed. Mission accomplished. Admittedly, the smallish job wasn't too difficult, as the house sits above a reasonably accessible crawlspace to run those lines, but the work was neatly and efficiently done at $250 per run with only a small drill hole in a baseboard to spackle afterwards. Our house is now wired like an office: Telephone Jacks increased our internet speed from 24 MBS to 925 MBS. We have 5 school children using Zoom and mom is a software engineer working from home. We called telephone jacks to wire up our house because the kids and wife were very unhappy with the home internet speed. I didn't think it would work, but Joel with Telephone Jacks relocated/rewired the modem and wired the house like an office building. Everyone is happy now at home. I wanted to add an Ethernet port in a new partial wall for our TV and he was able to splice into a nearby wire. Even though he's super busy, Joel squeezed me in last minute same day because it was a "small" job -- just a couple ethernet jacks in a wall I had open already for a kitchen remodel. He arrived 10 mins early, was friendly and helpful, and the work was clean and well-organized. No damaged walls, wiring extremely tidy, and everything out of the way of the existing kitchen work. I own and operate a small business with operations in New York, Burlingame and Canada. We had a Nortel Networks System which frankly is the worst piece of crap I have ever used, horrible and expensive. I decided to move multiple lines over to onebox.com virtual PBX. In order to switch over I had to get the Nortel ripped out and regular phone lines switched over to regular POTS / DID lines. I searched craigslist and found Joel of A Telephone Jacks Co. I was able to get hold of him immediately and schedule an appointment in three days, would have offered any time. Before the day of appointment I confirmed and all was set. On the day of appointment I called Joel and asked if he could come earlier, sure he says. He shows up 1 1/2 hrs early,. that is a first for a telephone tech in my book, actually unheard of. Joel managed to keep our lines up and running during the switch and our down time was 60 seconds, I am still in disbelief. He was incredibly pleasant, professional, knew what he was doing, very reasonably priced and couldn't have asked for more. A++++. Cat5 data cable install, Nice job! Joel, came all the way up to Windsor, CA for me! Joel is a very laid back gentle spirit he keeps his head down and focused on his job which he did quite well. I just moved into my new home and had a rats nest of several 50 foot long cables running from the router to all bed rooms. I almost broke my neck on a couple occasions tripping. Long story short contacted Joel he showed up the next day I showed him the problem and he said YUP thats a problem Ill clean it up and make it look real nice. Joel spent a couple hours putting in cat5 ran it to all bedrooms and my living room TV then he coomented what a crappy job comcast did on my cable and I agreed! he cleaned that all up also, looks dam sharp! He did not give me the time to do a complete job even though I was willing to pay him for it because he said he had another job he had to get to and was rushing around whilst doing my job. Fantastic experience from start to finish. Joel listened to what we needed (tidying Coax after Comcast came and "fixed" things, adding two Ethernet drops and three phone jacks) and methodically walked me through it to ensure he understood. Joel's amazing. I was hoping that he will come out the day I called him but we opted to schedule the work a few days out. I needed a coaxial outlet installed in the wall which I thought Comcast can handle but they basically told be that the job is too much work for them since the location is too far and to high from the source. I'm happy I found Joel after some filtering work on Yelp. I have to say that he's probably not going to be the cheapest guy you will find but his work is well worth the price he quoted me. He helped me ran the cable from the other side our the house which is 3 stories high on a slope of the hill and then ran the cable back under the house. He crawled through the craw space under the house and ran the cable through the other side of the house. He then did an amazing job putting a new wall plate and cleaning up the old telephone cables in the house. He also helped me patch up cable work that Comcast temporarily installed for my modem. In the end he even gave me a discount saying that he quoted me too much initially even though he ended up helping me with all the extra work. This is, hands down, the best tech install experience I have ever had. Joel wired up four rooms -- two upstairs, two downstairs in a house built in the 50s -- with six lines of Cat6. He ran all the cables into a central data closet, worked in the crawlspace under the house as well as the attic, installed super-clean conduit up the exterior wall, installed jacks in different walls of the same room, labeled and tested everything -- *by himself in one day.* I left him to his own devices for about six hours while I ran homeowner errands, and I was stunned when I saw how much he had accomplished while I was out. Joel had a great attitude, listened to what I wanted and came up with great solutions to do exactly what I needed. The work is clean, custom, and completely pro. Joel is one of those old-school tradesmen that KNOWS exactly what he's doing. Comcast came FOUR times to figure out what was wrong with my mom's phone--they made a mess and tore apart, moved everything--in the end, they said "yeah, you need a contractor to drill through the upstairs walls and put in new phone lines." I was referred to Joel--and thank God for that--he was there less than an hour and got everything working without any drilling anywhere. No contractor needed. AND he got ALL the phones working--upstairs and down. I'm sick and tired of "technicians" who aren't property trained and/or have no clue how to repair anything. This is my very first review on yelp, and because of how impressed I was with Joel's service, decided I just had to write this. I went out on a limb finding him on Craigslist and intrusting someone at my parent's house to wire their home w/ ethernet and cable. At first, I was a bit skeptical b/c I had no idea how this works, not to mention he gave a quote over the phone without seeing the house, but in this line of work, it makes sense now. Not only are his prices incredibly competitive, he worked w/ me on the payment. I was able to schedule him within a few days of my call, and on a holiday! Joel did show up 1.5 hours late, which I beat him to the punch on calling, and when he answered, he gave me a valid reason, and show up as planned to the new time. I was at home on a holiday, so the fact that he was working on a holiday after doing a late job the night before, I was patient and understanding. Once he started working, he was very respectful to the house and my parents. He would take his shoes off before entering, even tho he was constantly going from his van to the house to the basement and back. He made all the outlets look very professional and clean. All the wiring was also placed cleanly and out of the way. We use the craw space as storage, so it's important to have all the cables out of sight, out of mind. Basically, he took every request we had, and made sure he did it, and made sure everything looked nice and professional. He was also very knowledgeable on all the questions I asked, i.e. cat 5 vs. cat 6, etc. With his professionalism, knowledge, and work, Joel had us all (including very old fashioned and traditional Asian parents) convinced he was the right guy for the job, and a true rare find.
