I used A to Z plumbing when a garbage disposal went out under the kitchen sink in my rental and I was unable to get there in time to prevent additional damage under the sink. This company is incompetent. I had a hot water heater that was not heating. They came out and installed a thermocouple and assured me the problem was solved. 2 weeks later, same problem. The tech came out and said the problem was again fixed. A week later again the same problem. I called and was told a plumber would be or by 4:00 pm. At 4:30 the plumber called and said was on the way, he never showed up. The office was closed and I got the answering service who said a on call plumber would call shortly. I had A to Z come to snake my bathroom drains it went ok at first and then the plumber that was doing it put a hole through my living room wall. It just got worse from there, he told me that the pop up drain piece broke and he had to replace it he did and then told me that it was the wrong one and that he would have to go and get a shorter one, i asked him why he didnt measure it before he put it in and he saud most of them wetr standard, at this point my bill was $280.00 he prceeded to tell me that he would ha e to charge me another $125.00 for a grand total of $ 405.00 i told him i wasnt going to pay that becayse it was his miatake he talked to a crew leader and said he woul wauve the extra money. My problem is this even after i talked to the owner about the hole in my wall and asked it to be fixed he did nothing. Hexset me up with a bogus contactor who made a fake fb page with fake numbers and then the contractor took oit down a few dats later. I had to file a complaint with the BBB as of yet it hasnt been rectified. Please beware of this company they are not professional and do not take respinsibility for their mistakes. I was housesitting for a friend when I noticed a slab leak. Called A to Z, they sent out Omar. I thought this was going to be a huge job, the leak could have been anywhere in the house. Omar had it figured out in 20 minutes, put a patch on and came back the next day to do the full repair and some! Called December 26th with what looked to be leak under my sink. The technician arrived on time after explaining to him that it looked like it was my faucet leaking. He looked at the faucet went out to his truck got a tool tightened the hose and was in and out. Today I received a bill for $123. That figures out to be $41 per minute. Needless to say I will not recommend nor will I use this company again. I don't normally write reviews hopefully this will stop someone else from being taken advantage of. read more

Do not use this company!! Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with A to Z's costumer service. The men that came to service my water heater lacked in good communication. I was so confused when they left my house and I no idea what had happened. Apparently, they had fixed something, but it included needing to cut into the ceiling for the repair. No communication happened. They had told me someone would call with an invoice. That never happen. When I called to speak with someone about my service, they only said I'm sorry and that their employee was one of their best. No remediation was offered. No options. Now I am still stuck with my original problem and a hole in my ceiling to fix myself. Now it makes sense that they don't fix dry wall holes. My frustration and disappointment would have been avoided if there was more communication involved. I am even more upset after I called them to receive some clarification on what had happened, I was still met with poor customer service. Good communication and customer service go a long way. read more

A-Z Plumbing was a referral from a trusted realtor friend. First a little bit about me so you won't think this is a shill review. I have been through three complete home remodels in my life, and over the years, I have used 4 different plumbing companies in San Diego. I have modest skills in doing minor plumbing repairs in my home. We have a large custom home and there are two water heaters in tandem to provide plenty of hot water along with a circulator system for rapid hot at all outlets. One of our water heaters went out after 8 years ("American" brand) but I am told that is not that too bad, as most go out between 8 and 10 years. Any longer, and you are really lucky, but skating on thin ice. So we shopped around and found two water heaters on closeout which we bought and had delivered to our home. Then I had to find someone to install them (labor only). I thought of Sears, as you can at least rely on them being there in the future, and their standard charge (would be more for my complex situation) was $475 per water heater (so about $950 or more in my case). I called another plumbing company I had used for a small job before and they quoted $1,500 (again, just labor and parts). Two other companies were not even interested and didn't return my calls, probably because I already had my water heater and they apparently wanted to make money on the units and the labor. I am very glad I called A-Z Plumbing. It was a good experience from my first call to their office. I left a message which was returned within hours by courteous Janet, the dispatcher. She is not an "answering service" but knows what you will need based on what you tell her. Because the water heaters are heavy, they needed to send two men, and they charge right around $100 per hour per tech. I agreed to this. The two men arrived within the 2 hour window, went right to work and were here from 9am to almost 2pm, but were unable to work for one hour when they needed to get parts. So I was prepared to pay for two men for four hours and thought that would be very fair. Including 4 new shut off valves, copper pipe, connectors and so forth, I was amazed the job was only $655 for all, this after getting bids of up to $1500 from others. The two techs, Brian and Miguel, were polite, efficient, and their work qualifies as artistry. What do I mean? Many plumbers cut a pipe and then just connect it and torch it. This leaves small burrs inside the pipe which can act like collection points for calcium and debris, much like plaque in your arteries. Every pipe piece they handled was buffed until it was shiny and smooth inside and out. Their connections were clean, straight, and solid (no excess solder). They took away the old water heater at no additional charge AND cleaned up the water heater closet and job area neater than it was when they arrived. I would post a picture of the finished job if I could. I was so impressed, I bought two more water heaters from the supply house and had A-Z do the install for my daughters' condos the next day. Again, their install labor price was half what I was quoted from other companies and they finished the job in 90 minutes for each place. Strongly recommended. read more

After being totally frustrated with the two plumbing companies I had out to my house to fix my plumbing issues. A friend gave me a referral to use A to Z Plumbing. I called the office and explained all my issues I've had with the two other companies and how they didn't fix my problem and I was charged a HUGE amount by both. The lady in the office was so nice and told me she would have a tech out the next morning and he would get the job done right. I was very skeptical after my two experiences I had with the two large companies that had failed me. The A to Z Plumber showed up right on time and was very clean and professional. He let me explain everything that had happen and what I needed done. After only 1 hour of being at my house he had my plumbing issue completely fixed and working great. I was even more surprised when he gave me my bill and it was cheaper then both of the other companies and they didn't even fix my plumbing.
