Our last plumber messed up the line going from our dishwasher to the water supply, so we have not been able to run our dishwasher for several years. We use it as a dish rack (token Asian family style). BB wanted to get a new dishwasher, since the old one had become nasty from not being able to run it. We also needed a high loop to be done, since we do not have an air gap. She also wanted to change out our white kitchen farmstyle sink for a black one, which would hopefully lessen her OCD. We would also change out the sink fixtures at the same time to gold ones. Our previous plumber gave us a quote which almost made me pass out from being so high, so I asked around and my close acquaintance referred me to Joe with Original Plumbing. I was required to get a Moen Flow valve installed in order to get carried for home insurance. This device comes with a supposedly *free installation* that is booked through a phone app called Frontdoor. Frontdoor cancelled my appointment for installation and said they won't have availability for another two weeks. So I called Moen to get a listing of authorized plumbers and will request a reimbursement for the installation from Moen (thanks Frontdoor for not doing your job). Apparently I am better at booking appointments than they are. Maybe I should apply to work there? Although I am partially covered up to $300 by Moen for reimbursment, I had to go a little over to book Original Plumbing. In comparison, a competitor quoted $500 more for the same service. In all fairness, Joe had to do a little extra work to make sure that I would be compliant and not have issues with Moen in the future. That alone is a life saver giving me peace of mind. I already had to get a power outlet on the outside of the house installed for this supposedly *free* device (after purchase) that is costing me a fortune. But at least Joe and Original Plumbing helped keep my costs as low as possible and I should be in good standing with my home insurance coverage. Joe was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and patient. So, after when we came home after being out of the house for 3 weeks, and found that out sewer line was clogged, I decided to look on yelp and found Joe. After reading a few reviews I called him, and he was able to come out the next afternoon. He was very professional and was even able to clean up the poor work done by the plumber who had installed our new shower improperly. Joe and Anthony came out to check on a mystery leak in my house. They used a camera and good old fashioned detective skills to find my leak. As it turns out the furnace has a drain that was draining right into the furnace room! They suggested I call the guy who installed my AC and it should be under warrantee. They offered to do the work if I couldn't get anywhere that way. It's good to know these guys were honest enough to tell me what was actually happening and that another professional would be the better option. I wanted to replace my old and noisy 16-year-old Power Vent Water Heater in my second-floor condominium. I once called a company and said that I needed my Power Vent Water Heater replaced. They sent a plumber who wasn't told that I needed a Power Vent Water Heater. The plumber then complained he did not have one, that there would be an extra charge for having two plumbers, and strangely stated "I am not going to charge you for this call." After that I reached out to other companies and their attitudes were truly discouraging. But when I called Original Plumbing, the owner Joseph Martinez was very courteous and helpful. Because I was busy the rest of the day, I met Joseph the next morning and he explained the project and the costs involved. That same day he brought the very hard-to-find Power Vent Water Heater and replaced my old one in just over two hours. The space that houses the water heater is so tight that another plumber may charge more labor hours for removing it from and replacing it in the very tight closet space. He also gave me his five-year parts and labor complete warranty, whereas the six-year manufacturer's warranty only covers the first year of labor. I highly recommend Original Plumbing because Joseph Martinez gives prompt service, a complete evaluation of the work involved, and respect for the owner's property.
