But where was I? Well, here twice. Once I had the pile of meat mentioned above, and another I got meat on lettuce that was... wait, did I? Forgettable. The pile of meat was nicely cooked, nothing dry or tough, no chicken brought within degrees of sawdust for the sake of food safety. The Palomas are tasty and a good use of Tajin. The servers wear their tenure on their faces. They've been doing this so long they've become a bit plastic. Attentive, but you feel more like baggage on a conveyor than their guest. It's that same feeling like when you go to a famous restaurant and realize you're being processed by a method designed in a cubicle. Otherwise, this is a solid must-see, must-go. read more

We were excited to meet up with family at A Toda Madre. The place was incredibly close to our hotel which is a big plus and has a large, spacious and beautifully decorated dining room. The positive reviews drew me here so we were looking forward to some authentic Mexican food. We came on a Saturday night, fairly late in the evening because, let's be honest, us Miamians do everything late. We were told there would be a wait for a large table, but the host was very attentive and suggested seating us in two separate booths across from each other for quicker seating. He did mention there would be live entertainment starting soon but little did we know....Since we had two children with us, including a baby who was already exhausted and asleep, we happily agreed. Although the booths were directly across from one another, we later discovered hearing each other was going to be a challenge. Before I get to that, let's talk about the food. After reviewing the very lengthy menu, we joked that it felt like the Mexican version of a Cheesecake Factory menu. Thankfully, our choices stood out and were quick to pick what we were feeling for. I ordered the Mexican Burrito, stuffed with steak, shrimp, chicken, and rice. It was huge, so I could only manage half of it. Hubby went with the Mar y Tierra tacos, and those grilled corn tortillas really elevated the his steak and shrimp. It was served with rice and black beans and was packed with flavor. Now, the reason I didn't give five stars was unfortunately because of the live entertainment. A local Mexican band arrived to perform for the rest of the evening. Normally, I really love any form of entertainment. I'm from Miami, so a lively atmosphere is almost expected. Unfortunately, this was just way too loud and made it nearly impossible to hear anyone at our table. Even the waitress had to come within breathing distance to take our orders, and we definitely couldn't hear our family sitting in the booth across from us. The band itself was actually awesome. They sounded great with has amazing energy, had customers singing along, and even got a few couples up dancing. It was just incredibly loud. Our baby deserves a special shoutout because he somehow slept through the entire thing without even flinching. I honestly have no idea how. On a scale of 1 to 10, the noise level was easily a 15. It's the one thing I can't overlook because we were really looking forward to catching up and chatting with family, and that simply didn't happen. Came here with a fairly large party on a Friday. It was busy but not overwhelming crowded. Service was ok - she was attentive but we had a bit of a wait at the end. Food came out fast and the portions were good. The tortillas looked fresh and the price for the portions was great. Good value for the money. The 20oz margarita was strong and delicious if you like very sweet drinks. It's on the rocks but very sweet. I enjoyed it. I got the tacos that combined steak and shrimp. It was full of meat which was nice. The shrimp tacos at the table also looked really good. I would return just to try them. All in all, I'll be back and actually wish I lived closer. read more

I took my daughter here for her birthday dinner because she really wanted Mexican food. I'm very picky about medium restaurants because it's one of my favorite cuisines. This place did not disappoint! I had the Texas fajitas and everything was very flavorful and well seasoned. The street corn was great as well! My daughter had her favorite - nachos- and she was very happy with them. The staff were very patient and helpful. Friendly as well. The only thing I will say is that the restaurant is very loud. Lots of music playing, including a band. There was also people coming around trying to sell flowers and teddy bears, which I found odd. It was a great experience overall though and we'll definitely be going back! read more

I've seen this restaurant a couple times driving through Triangle mall. It is located right next to the Chili's. Lowkey spot with good Mexican food. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted with a smile and chips & salsa. They have a great selection of drinks and Latin flavors. I went with the Mamacita margarita, which is a pomegranate based drink, delicious! And I also had the birria egg rolls. The flavor was amazing the crema, onions and dipping soup was exactly what you want in good birria. Some egg rolls were crispier than others, the sauce from the inside really made the outside soggy. But that did not stop me from eating them ALL. There's music and tvs all around, super casual and fun place. read more

I had the Enchilada Sampler and it was so good and flavorful. The enchiladas were filled with chicken and topped with sour cream, pico de gallo, and 3 different sauces such as salsa verde (mild spicy), mole (sweet & savory ) and ranchero (tomato based). The rice was very seasoned and delicious. The service was quick and everyone was polite, attentive and very friendly. The manager walked around and checked on everyone which I thought was very nice. I also had a "La Pasion Margarita" which was made perfectly (fruity and strong). Ambiance was very family oriented and clean. This new restaurant next to Chile's at Triangle Town Center is obviously in the Carajillo family, as the menu is very similar if not identical. Four of us gals met for dinner on Monday night. Restaurant is spacious and spotless and they seemed to have plenty of staff working. Likes: Food absolutely delicious and super generous portions. (I got two more meals out of mine). The two that got mixed drinks loved them. My wine was fine. Complimentary chips and salsa very good as well. Food arrived VERY quickly. There was a little confusion as to whose was whose at first as we all had similar dishes, but no big deal. Dislikes: Our waitress asked if we wanted queso. One Gal said sure, why not. We were brought two bowls of it. When we got our separate checks, two of the gals were charged $5.50 each for the queso. Server had made it sound like it was complimentary. And at the very least should have only brought one. Or asked clearly would anyone like to order queso, and if so how many. It especially irked the gal who was charged for it who had NOT said yes to wanting it. Speaking of the checks, an 18% gratuity was automatically added to each of ours. Personally it doesn't bother me, but it bothered all three of the other gals. All of us would have tipped more than that anyway. I'm actually mad that I've lived so close to this place and I'm just now finding it. I went with family and we tried a bit of everything starting with the asada fries and birria eggrolls. One thing is for certain- they are not stingy with sauce or meat. Super yum and the house salsa was phenomenal if I could bottle it and take it home it would. For a main I had the Mexican Mac n cheese which was incredibly flavorful and topped with a good amount of meat, peppers and onions. Honorable mention to the Jefe marg!! read more

First time trying it. Forgot to take photos, but everything was delicious! The best mole I've had in a restaurant. Great quesadillas, burritos, birria and taquitos! Extensive menu and decently priced. Delicious deserts too. The best part was the staff. Kind, friendly and on top of things like you want. But beyond that, the head guy on front of house was so knowledgeable and passionate about the business. You can tell he takes pride in his restaurant! I watched him reseat a large party because the accommodations the host set were not up to his standards for his guests to be comfortable. It's such a small, but powerful thing to see in this environment. We will back because the food was outstanding, we will be back often because of the attention to detail. 10/10 recommend read more

This is hands down the best Mexican food in the Triangle. I'm not sure why this place does not stay packed. When you walk in the aesthetic of the flowers and neon signs are a vibe. Everything I've had including the Tacos Mar Y Tierra, the burritos, fajitas are flavorful. You can't miss with anything you eat off the menu. Every server here is always excellent and they work as a team to make sure you have a great experience. They have $5 margaritas and mojitos M-TH and an affordable lunch menu. My first time at this Mexican restaurant and the menu is filled so much delicious options it's so hard to choice from. But any option that you decide to pick it will not disappoint. I decided to get the pork and pineapple pizza and they did not hold back on the meat. I made sure I brought an appetite and was ordering because at the time I went I was really and decided to get the appetizer and I got the one that came with 6 buffalo wings, 4 chicken quesadillas, and 4 beef taquitos. I had to take that for lunch because I was stuff from the pizza. The place was packed and truth be told I wanted to I wanted to keep this place a secret for myself. (That's the evil foodie in me). The staff was nice and attentive and place feels comfortable and spacious. We had a great first time visit. At first when we came in I couldn't find a table that suited me, so they let me go thru my motions and I was happy with the last table they offered me. One was too out in the open, one was near bathroom, another there was t enough booth tummy room, then there was enough room in booth but my legs didn't touch floor, finally we settled on a table where I was very happy. Husband, god Bies's him for his patience. We had a great waitress, Hayley. She took our orders and we got our meals correctly. She was there when we needed her, but not overly so. I had the pizza with pork, pineapple, cilantro. It was so tasty and cooked to perfection. Hubby had something with three proteins and rice. He loved his meal. We were both stuffed. Oh I forgot the best part. I had a foursome of margaritas. They were delicious. All in all great service, delicious food and a really welcoming atmosphere to us. One last thing. Wow, this is by far one of the best restaurants I have been to. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. I walked in and was seated immediately, greeted by my server and ordered promptly. I went to use the restroom and by the time I came back my margarita was already on the table. The watermelon margarita was amazing. I ordered a burrito fajita and the beans were the most delicious I have had. They were smooth and fresh not grainy at all. Chips and salsa were good as well. The salsa has a kick to it that makes it perfect. The restaurant itself is very clean, the restroom was also super clean. The ambiance was very calm and welcoming. Ordered food to be delivered from their website at 4:30pm. Wrong food shows up at 5:15pm. Called and spoke with manager and said they would resend. 6:15pm, no food. I go back to the restaurant and the food is still sitting there. They wanted to charge me for the food and I asked for a refund. We will see if it shows up. Ellos deben ya de tener la experiencia de como se pone el lugar cuando va una banda a tocar, y deberían mas bien informarnos que debido al evento no garantizan tiempo de espera para dar mesas, y mo darnos un tiempo de espera que no existe.
